Why many don't want the next birth?

Dear RV,

You seem to be under lot of stress and hence get upset very easily. In this forum, we members have different set of ideas

and we share them here. No one thinks that those who disagree are all foolish. Please try to understand this. Take care. :)

As per Hindu religion, there is rebirth.
After death one goes to Heaven for some time and to hell some time and then returns to earth as animal, plant, insect or human. Moksha is staying near God. One can not be near God for ever. These are my thoughts.

Only Renu has given her choice, if born again! And I too gave my choice and asked the choice of other friends.

But everyone is :tape: ......... Wonder no one wants the next janmA except me and Renu!

I want to be born as SUPERMAN...As per as janma is concerned , it is not that we will not be able to ever with God...we can be...we don't want to be...IF WE WANT TO ENJOY ..or THINK TO ENJOY..we just fall down from there...thopakadir...:boink:(god is pushing us down just in Rajni movie BABA)

someone is quiet as it is afternoon nap time
I have had a pretty good happy life to think of not having the oppertunity

to relive it in next janma as same human again.

perhaps I would not be doing some foolish things I have done in the past .

I would not like to have any other relatives or friends . All are pretty good fellows . They have put up with me and my many strange ways.

but still I believe I am playing a good innings and not like to get out easily . I do not gift away my wicket .

There is a lot to be seen and experience

my one prayer is give me more strength to live it up further.

I have a lot of promises to keep with many people

I do not want to kick the bucket yet

Dear Krish Sir,

My question is NOT whether anyone would like to leave the world now! :nono:

''ShrEyO bhooyAth sakala janAnAm'' is my daily prayer! :pray2:

last few lines my own addition

what does your prayer mean-? I do not know bhooyath only bhooth.

Well Moksha is the best option. But the option is not on a platter for anybody to pick. You do not get it until you deserve it. Perhaps seeking moksha reveals the seekers ambition which does not sound good but very well desirable whatever one's quality of life all along has been. Yes it sounds selfish (in the material world) but there is "self" in the fish which is paramaartha only.

The meaning of the prayer is

''Let all the people live with bliss.''

It is the last line of the song 'Maithreem Bhajata', a benediction composed in
Sanskrit by Shri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati

of the Kanchi Mutt. The song was set to a Ragamaalikaa by composer Shri Vasant Desai.

The song was popularized by M S Subbulakshmi, who sang it first at the U N concert. :thumb:

Enjoy the song for world peace:

Recently, I heard the story of Vilawamangalam Swamiyar (V S) of Kerala.

The story goes like this. He had the ability to see Lord Krishna and interact with Him. Once he suffered from severe stomach ache

and
requested Krishna to cure him but Krishna just smiled and vanished. Then V S went to a vaidhyar and was cured with medicines.

On another day, he pushed the naughty Krishna with the back of his palm and Krishna said he will never come to him till he comes

to Ananathankad. Since V S escaped from the stomach ache with medicines, he was born again as a snake and roamed all around

the temple. Though it was left free for sometime, it was finally beaten to death by some people. The pain was thus given in the

birth as a snake. And the story does not end here. He was born again as a Thulasi plant in the temple and grew near the place

where the abhishEkam water flows. When the plant became huge, its roots clogged the drain and hence cut off. This pain was

supposed to be given for pushing the naughty Krishna away with the back of the palm! Finally, a girl made a Thulasi garland with

the trunk of the plant and it adorned Lord Krishna. Thus V S suffered all the pains that were due to him in his earlier birth!!

Scary story, right?

P.S: Even today, brahmins do not push children with the back of the palm. :nono:

Raji Madam

This is similar to your story

Appayya Dikshitar suffered from an unbearable stomach pain. But he did not want to cancel the classes for his students. He was also particular that his teaching should not be compromised because of his pain. So he took some grass and transferred his pain to the grass and taught the students. At the end of the classes, he transferred the pain back to his stomach.

Noticing this, one of his students asked Dikshitar why he did not take a bigger clump of grass and transfer all his pain to it once and for all. Dikshitar replied that his stomach ache was the result of his past actions. He had to pay for all his acts of omission and commission. So it was only proper that he pay for his karma.

Bhishma prayed that he should face in this janma itself the consequences of all his karma in all his previous births, so that when he departed from this world, he would go to God with a clean account. There would be no deficits to be carried over to another birth; there would be no need for another birth. It takes a lot of courage to speak as Bhishma did.

We would be afraid to make such a request to God, for we do not know what sins we would have committed in previous births and we would, therefore, be scared of what we might have to face. But whatever the consequences, we have to face them sooner or later. There is no running away from these consequences. Bhishma knew this, and so he prayed that his karma be wiped out in this janma itself.

When all the Gopikas ran out on hearing flute notes played by Lord Krishna , one alone was denied permission by her mother-in-law.
Shocked at this separation from Krishna, she died at once. But the real reason is that her karma meant she had to die then.

I read karma posts early in the morning . It makes me feel pious . PJsir your post talked only of

grass consumption, bhishma and gpopikas . the one earlier was more bizarre talking of snakes etc.

I will start believing in karma theories If I keep at it

I of course would not like to emulate bhishma and ask all karmas to be finished in this janma and

favour an instalment plan over several janmas , being born again and again as humans if possible

1. Happy to read this!! :)
2. Is it possible? It might be a crocodile or cactus!! :scared:

Thank you P J Sir for the relevant post. :)
So......... Karma makes people suffer and
Karma theory believers who wish for mOksham, opt to suffer in this janmA itself! :ballchain:

BTW, do you know why God gave two births to V S; first as a snake and then as a thulasi plant, instead of getting a few more

beatings for the snake to balance ALL his sins? Reason given is because thulasi maNi mAlai will serve as a garland to Krishna

for ever and V S will feel being with Him always!!

Actually why does anyone ever want Moksha? We have no idea what Moskha is or even if it actually exists..right now all we know is life and we die one day.

I certainly do not desire Moksha cos I do not desire what I do not know.

Dear RR ji,

The idea of Moksha can be scary cos we dont know what lies ahead....do we become some dormant life form or do we hang around in some loka with a boring lifestyle.

Who wants to be good 24/7?..I enjoy being Bad too..so its Bhu loka for me!LOL

Folks – please be very very careful what you wish for!!

Given that over 2.5 to 3 Bil are under in dire poverty inIndia, Africa & other developing countries, karmic/statistically the chances of anotherprivileged birth is minimal to Zero !!! – LOL !!! Oh, don’t forget thattrillions of animals come to life &die in horrific ways !!!!

To release oneself from the Karma - birth/re-birth cycle, one has to do severe penance & lead a life of absolute piousness like ourancient Rishis. So that all the bad karma of the current/previous janmas are exhausted & good karma accumulated for usto reach moksha.

So what is Moksha, liberation etc.. – this is the eternal life where there is nobirth, no death, no suffering, no attachment, no bondage, the soul is content& free !!!

So it is better to focus our energies to pray to the God& escape this cycle once & for all. If not, atleast better to listen toour ancient Rishi’s, build enough good karma in this life & do our best tobe born in a good family/environment again !!

Cheers,

Dear Jaykay Sir,

Some of our members want to enjoy life to the fullest, whatever it means!
They are interested in more births as humans to enjoy! :couch2:

Hi Raji,Yep, understandable!Though many in this forum have worked hard, some very hard, they don’t know what real struggle is, myself included. However if they see, hear & understand the lives of those in poverty, crime, slavery, etc.. they will quickly change their mind about ever being born as a human !!See, our Rishis were Geniuses, they knew they were privileged in their birth & that it is almost impossible to be born privileged again in the next birth unless they liberate themselves. Hence they went to extra-ordinary lengths to attain moksha… etc…By enjoying life to the fullest in this birth, they would have exhausted all the good karma, so the next birth will be anything other than being privileged. So it is better to learn from our Rishis, from their herculean efforts & work towards liberation or atleast accumulate so much good karma, that we are born privileged again, than to painfully learn it ourselves !Cheers,

Dear Jaykay ji,

I dont mind any type of life good or bad..not all of us are always hankering after good as to enjoy ourselves..that serves no purpose to only experience good..actually to attain Moksha one needs to experience everything.

BTW to attain Moksha the most important point is NOT to desire it.
