Look at the way the Principal of Government aided College in Mumbai actively canvassing against Modi! Looks like Congress is behind it based on the tweet support that he is getting from the bigwigs there!

What a lousy turnout in Mumbai! Just 23% till 1 pm! Chennai seems to be better!! Chennai South is 39.5% , Chennai Central is 35% and Chennai North is 41%

Mumbai guys! Despite all freebies no one seems to be interested!

Mumbaikars, ink your finger and grab these deals

Before 7 a.m. the crowd was reasonable in one of the booths in South Chennai (Mylapore Area). Despite this, the overall percentage is below 55% till 4.30 p.m. for South Chennai.

namo before filing his nomination in varanasi made a very sober speech to his supporters without the high pitched rhetoric.

he said he is hearing the call of mother ganges from varanasi and hence has come there

he tried to reach out to minorities saying that he had helped kite making business of muslims in gujarat by increasing their turn over from 35 cr. to seven times that number in 12 yrs and promising to help muslim weavers in varanasi

he tried playing the dalit card saying ambedkar was supported by gaekwad of baroda to study abroad

will all this at this late hour help him in poll ?

low turnouts and voter apathy will help only the ruling party whether in mumbai or chennai.it only indicates that people are not enraged

enough to throw out the incumbents in these states

the defaulting companies are indian IT companies . I have been always maintaining that they are

no better than sweatshops exploiting our youngsters thru unfair work practices .the kids do not

know their rights . some should be taken to courts . what is the point in these companies talking

of CSR and creating charity foundations. govt should either regulate them with strict laws or

simply close them down . anyway they are not contributing much to growth . the growth if any

thru their methods is meaningless . our youngsters are paying for it with their lives . they will

suffer a burn out by 35 yrs and would be wrecks with no hpme life and future .

he will keep varanasi. he was quite emotional and talked about ganga maa and maamki god. he promised to clean ganga, improve infrastructure and make kashi spiritual capital of the world.

Sea of saffron envelops Varanasi as Modi goes to file his nomination! As Modi is contesting from both Baroda and Varanasi, the million dollar question is whether Modi will retain Vadodra or Varanasi, in case he wins both!
SP, BSP, Cong will be decimated in UP by 'Modi tsunami': Amit Shah

A new book on “Narendra Modi: A Political Biography” http://nyti.ms/1mGhAUn

How does one get Narendra Modi, to sit down for an interview? Andy Marino, the British author of a recent biography of Mr. Modi, says: “Just call him.”

Mr. Marino, 49, spent two weeks in August with Modi for the book “Narendra Modi: A Political Biography,” which portrays Modi as a visionary who has been misrepresented by the news media.

Modi has been accused by many journalists and human rights activists of avoiding tough questions or refusing to take responsibility for his handling of the 2002 Gujarat riots. Mr. Marino said that Modi did not declare any subjects off limits, including what happened after a train full of Hindu pilgrims caught fire in Godhra after being attacked by a Muslim mob on Feb. 27, 2002. “By the time we got to the riots, it just arose naturally, and there was no pause at all. He was happy to talk about it in as much detail as I wanted and to whatever length I wanted,” he said.

Minhaz Merchant, who had written a biography of Rajiv Gandhi suggested Mr. Marino’s manuscript to HarperCollins India. V. K. Karthika, chief editor at HarperCollins India, said that Mr. Marino’s neutrality and unprecedented access were key considerations in publishing the book on Mr. Modi. “If he could be the next leader of this country, then it’s an important point of view to add to the mix,” she said.

The chapter on the 2002 riots reads as a record of Mr. Modi’s thoughts and actions during the worst three days of the riots, some of these being shared for the first time. Mr. Marino makes the case that Mr. Modi did everything possible to suppress the religious violence quickly, but the biographer also does not question Mr. Modi’s account of his efforts to stop the violence.

“As the first sketchy reports of deaths came in, the awful truth of the situation began to dawn on Modi. Where were the police?” Mr. Marino wrote. “The fact was he had inherited a state thoroughly marinated in decades of bitter communalism and was left with the consequences of this hate-filled history — a bigotry that had infiltrated the political, bureaucratic and police structure at every level.”

Marino’s book said letters were sent to the Congress party CMs of Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh between Feb. 28 and March 1, but only Maharashtra responded with a limited number of personnel. Mr. Modi told Mr. Marino, “I feel sad about what happened, but no guilt. And no court has even come close to establishing it.”

So far, Mr. Marino’s biography has received little attention in India. But Ms. Karthika of HarperCollins India said that Mr. Marino’s book was being reprinted soon after the first run of 5,000 copies sold out. Mr. Marino said he had fairly portrayed a leader he said had been vilified by the news media.

High turnout in sixth phase of LS poll, TN records 73% - NEWS TODAY

While the highest turnout of 83 per cent was recorded in the lone seat of Puducherry followed by West Bengal (82 per cent for six seats) and 73 per cent for all the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu which saw a single—phased polling.

Only two states —Rajasthan (59.2 per cent for five seats) and Maharashtra (55.33 per cent for 19 seats) — registered below 60 % turnout.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag constituency, where PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is in the fray, recorded the lowest turnout of 28 percent today but it was still higher than the 26.9 per cent recorded five years ago.

"Our country is a vast country where there is also much diversity. I have a clear belief that the “one shoe fits all” approach cannot be applied everywhere. Our objective should be one, the prosperity of the people, but policies and interventions as required, are also necessary."

Modi has been saying this for ages; still the media and so called educated elite media and pseudo economists always shout - gujarat model will not work in other states.

Look at the way Modi handles Media! I liked his strong comments on the belligerent neighbors!

Whatever is possible in Gujarat is possible in India: Narendra Modi - Livemint

Who is Modi?

I felt that from this actual experience.

I was working in Essar-Hazira as GM then.

Date 8th August 2006

After presenting the case of requirement of Coal block for Essar in Coal ministry I returned to Surat from New Delhi. The minute I came out of the railway station (11.30 a.m.) the taxiwallas said that Surat is inundated with flood and I cannot reach Essar-Hazira (26 km from Surat). I went to my friends house in Surat. I talked with the p.a. and asked him send me the higher chassis van so that we can wade through the flood. It was sent at 5.00 p.m. It came near my friends house and we waded through the flooded water (tapti river was flooded due to breach in the Maharashtra dam and all the water let through the tapti river and coming to Surat and to join the ocean from there.) initially 1 foot water and it slowly went to 2 feet and then at 22nd km there was no water fllooding). We crossed the place at 5.45 p.m. and at 6.45 p.m where we had crossed it was inundated with 12 feet water (impossible to believe it). After 2 days We left to Surat Railway station, again waded through 2 feet water in many places (we saw in some places 6 feet water). We reached Mumbai and from Mumbai to Hyderabad we came by flight. After 10 days I went back to Essar-Hazira and saw on both sides slush.........

What happened to Modi Government?
Modi called (I think one Mr.Rao, He was the one who cleared the Surat Blake also) him and asked him to coordinate the cleaning process and gave him full support.

Result:
Nobody died in the flood due to the swift action taken by the government. 10,000 cars in Surat had to be serviced because water has entered into these cars (many ground floor and first floor people were accommodated by their friends in upper floor since water level rose to 12 feet in many places in Surat). Three months passed : All the slush cleared. It came back to life as usual as if nothing happened.

Had it happened in Tamilnadu I will vouch for it even after 3 years J.J. will blame M.K. and M.K. will blame J.J.

This shows following points clearly.
Modi government
1) Cares for even common man
2) He chooses the correct man/woman for the job
3) He believes them and gives them full moral and financial support
4) Very good Administrator

Recent example - Last year Kedarnath flood - He went personally with his team, 15 buses, many cars and rescued 10,000 Gujaratis again, following same 4 point mentioned above

Prof.D.V.R.Rajakumar

thanks for sharing a personal report. There are thousands of such good acts transmitted only by personal contacts and deliberately ignored by the cia funded media. One must visit gujarat and talk to gujaratis to get a broad picture of the efficiently administered state.
