BJP Candidate, Supporters Attacked in Tamil Nadu

This incident was reported in "outlook" a week ago, but ignored by the main stream media, the true conscience keepers of the nation! And the politically correct magazine expects the readers to draw their own conclusion!

Report:

BJP candidate M Muruganandham in Thanjavur Lok Sabha constituency and several of his supporters were attacked allegedly by a group while campaigning in Mallipattinam area in the district today, police said.

Some BJP workers were injured in the attack and treated as outpatients at a hospital, they said.

Cases had been registered against the group of persons who resorted to violence and attacked Muruganandham when he was campaigning in the Mallipattinam area, police said.

MDMK leader Vaiko strongly condemned the "indiscriminate" attack on the BJP cadres.

In a statement here, he said some violent group had asked the BJP men and cadres not to enter the Mallipattinam area. Though BJP workers explained that they had democratic right to seek the vote from the people in the area, the violent crowd stopped and threatened them before attacking them with country weapons, he charged.

He also condemned police for not interfering effectively and helping the candidate to canvass in the area.

Police had initially refused to register the complaint but relented only after the BJP workers staged a "non-violent" protest.

wow I see everyone all geared up to vote.

I have never voted in my life and do not intend to vote ever cos all politicians are the same.Give any person power and they all succumb to it!LOL

Some outside Tamil Nadu have already voted..Like Krish & myself have already voted..It is a long drawn election in 9 phases spread over 30 + days

A lackadaisical approach is the bane of the educated service class! The poor vote for freebies; minorities vote enmasse, the rich do not care, the middle class including the TB show a lack lustre approach to voting! If they show the initiative in voting it is like fulfilling a moral duty!

Politicians are the same in swindling public money! We always try to vote for the lesser evil! Choices are limited! Let us hear from the members on 24th

if you are in your car vganeji she will lift you with a crane and cart you off to tihar jail in case you find her glamorous. she was called crane bedi in her younger dayssince as police officer she used cranes to lift cars even belonging to VIPs if left unattended in non parking areas . she had a reputation for toughness . Her slapping a violent sardar goon with kirpan and tackling him physically with no weapons made headlines.no fooling around with this no nonsense lady .

This Lady better than That Modi!

tamilnadu is a better governed state with less anti incumbency against ADMK govt. J. is good . she has herself self proclaimed it. tamil nadu need not really vote for change . they are better off probably with the present dispensation. some brahmins may have soft corner for BJP . they have fielded a brahmin candidate ...

is the voting on 22 . I thought it was on 24th . you are absolutely correct in your assessment of voters of various sections of society. TBs have nothing to look forward to. Two dominant castes thevars and vanniar decide who will get elected . They may throw some crumbs to other groups . brahmins may not get even this. the marginilisation is complete .only God can save TBs

Sir, Modi and BJP are canvassing for a religion free and caste free election. That is what good brahmins want; concern of pseudo brahmins with stated anti brahmin sentiments is worse than hypocrisy. In a caste respecting society brahmins can take care of themselves.

In the aap ki adalat of rajat sharma in india tv, modi did not deflect or dilute the issue when he said that all castes must respect their traditions and he too did the same. There is no contradiction in respecting one's and acknowledging others' tradition, caste, sampradayam and way of life.

This elections in 2014 seems to be run by Media, rather than Election Commission of India ! Open any channel in TV, you will find some thing about the Elections. EC does not have any control over the subject of discussions and debates in Media. The so called "social media" also has influence on the educated youngsters.
Let us wait for the results to see the impact of these new members of fourth estate !

Voting is on 24th...Thanks

Please call up all your friends and relatives to go out and vote. We need a desperate change of government. It was a complete subversion of the Cabinet system of Government under UPA, with power outsourced to someone who was not bound by the oath of secrecy and office, but who took the decisions, made the appointments. MMS signed meekly, acting worse than a rubber stamp. He was at best a sub-tenant of Race Course Road, the real tenant living at 10 Janpath.

After casting my vote on 17th April,I wish to share a few thoughts over the conduct of elections for Parliament this year 2014.
The arrangements in the polling booth were excellent. Senior citizens were given priority in the queue. The Officials and Police in the booth were courteous.
But, surprisingly the voting percentage in Bangalore South Constituency was very low compared to State average.
The main reason was clubbing the Polling day with three more holidays (which was brought to the notice of EC by BJP when the dates were announced). This has prompted the migrant voters to take a trip to their home towns ignoring elections !
Now let us wait for the results on 16th May 2014.

Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.

For Tamilnadu voters:

Around 75 professors and other academics of Indian origin working at some of Britain's prestigious institutions such as Cambridge and Oxford university and London School of Economics today issued an open letter, sharply attacking Narendra Modi and saying, "The idea of Modi in power fills us with dread".

The academics led by Prof. Chetan Bhatt and Gautam Appa of the London School of Economics issued the open letter in the UK's Left-leaning 'Independent' newspaper. "As the people of India vote to elect their next government, we are deeply concerned at the implications of a Narendra Modi-led BJP government for democracy, pluralism and human rights in India," the letter said targeting the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate.

"Narendra Modi is embedded in the Hindu Nationalist movement, namely the RSS and other Sangh Parivar groups, with their history of inciting violence against minorities. Some of these groups stand accused in recent terrorist attacks against civilians," the letter titled "The idea of Modi in power fills us with dread" reads. The letter followed a similar open letter by Indian-origin author Salman Rushdie and artist Anish Kapoor among others in the 'Guardian' earlier this month. The letter in 'Independent' published here today reads: "There is widespread agreement about the authoritarian nature of Modi's rule in Gujarat, further evidenced by the recent sidelining of other senior figures within the BJP. This style of governance can only weaken Indian democracy."

"Additionally, the Modi-BJP model of economic growth involves close linking of government with big business, generous transfer of public resources to the wealthy and powerful, and measures harmful to the poor. A Modi victory would likely mean greater moral policing, especially of women, increased censorship and vigilantism, and more tensions with India's neighbours," the letter reads. The academics represent some of the leading British educational establishments, including Oxford University's Prof. Nandini Gooptu and Prof. Joya Chatterji from Cambridge University. Like most of the other columns in the British media, the letter refers to the Godhra riots as proof of sectarianism in Gujarat under Modi, who has been the chief minister of the western state for 13 years.

"We recall the extreme violence by the Hindu Right in Gujarat in 2002 which resulted in the deaths of at least 1,000 people, mostly Muslims. This violence occurred under Modi's rule, and senior government and police officials have provided testimony of his alleged role in encouraging or permitting it to occur," the letter says.

Narendra Modi tries to rein in saffron motormouths, cautions against inflammatory remarks
TNN

In a bid to cap controversies over hate speeches by VHP leader Pravin Togadia and some other leaders, BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday tweeted to say that he disapproved of the inflammatory remarks.

Though his primary reference was to Togadia — caught on video allegedly demanding that Muslims be evicted from Hindu areas — Modi's tweet was also aimed at BJP leaders Giriraj Singh and Uma Bharati among others.

Singh, BJP's nominee from Nawada in Bihar, has been completely unrepentant about his comments that those who did not support Modi should go to Pakistan, an evident slur at the minority community. Bharati has not dabbled in communal rhetoric, but breached the party line in threatening that Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra would be sent to jail for shady land deals if NDA assumed office.

As per Macaulay's Minute on Indian Education, dated 2ND OF FEBRUARY, 1835, this was England's mission in India: "We must ....do our best to form a class who may be interpreters between us and the millions whom we govern; a class of persons, Indian in blood and colour, but English in taste, in opinions, in morals, and in intellect."

In other words, to create a mongrelized breed that will show no sensitivity to Indian values and traditions. And through them, continue the colonizing process.

Hasn't Macaulay succeeded in his mission?
Does this breed have a name?

Will lose their tenure and livelihood if they don't sign. Holding on to the lies of 2002 riots will only isolate them further. Good luck to them. All grants will be cut if they don't toe the line of psecs and cia.

Exhilarating news for modi baiters. 23 ngos have landed in varanasi to influence voters - not to vote for modi. Anyone is acceptable. Most of these are christian ngos with hindu names and funded by unknown sources. In one sense it is welcome because it helps to consolidate modi friendly votes and exposes these ngos for investigation and action. Report is available in today's indian express.

It is now clear that more than the muslims, christians are afraid of modi and are trying all the tricks. Many hindus have now woken up to the threat of western interference. Principal of xaviers mumbai has sent mails to all students to vote for congress and not for modi.

My prayers are for modi and bjp to get 2/3 majority and expose and stop these divisive groups.
