bjp lost because of alliance dynamics; congress is a shrewd manipulator for alliances and playing communal politics. It thought its brand of secularism will succeed this time too, but modi has broken it. Wise public has woken up and there will be less and less talk of secularism and minority appeasement. He has said several times that he doesn't mind losing but will never play vote bank politics. He has won the respect and support of a diverse section of public. Every controversy thrown at him by the media and psec and communal politicians has not only failed to stand scrutiny but built up his stature. Many who criticised in the past have become his admirers. And the list is growing every day.
what you say may be correct sarangji.
what might happen in case BJP wins may be different .The first casualty will be elimination of mandal and obc politics and reservation for them
. yadavs will cease to matter . sc/st issues will take a back seat

minorities will be marginalised. brahminism will come to the fore since under the garb of merit ,they will move in.
all this will turn the clock backwards and empowerment of the disadvantaged will get reduced . Not a very good prospect really
Kashmir issue will see some progress .international issues -mainly shaped by western nations and US , indias standing will get a beating since Modi may try standing upto them.
In the name of good governance , fancy infra projects and bullet trains will come up . railway fares will go up and get privatised . govt servants will curse the new govt as they will be forced to perform .
RSS elements will infiltrate the govt and education sector .chaddiwalas will become the bullies and set the national agenda.
Hindu ladies will wear sarees and kept their heads covered . and they will be chased out of pubs by RSS goons .
we will wake up singing vande matarm and worship one bearded man

you are sounding like the british who blamed the brahmins and divided the hindu community on caste basis. we have to undo this and instill respect for all castes. in the recent 'aap ki adalat' show in india tv, modi said - all castes have rich traditions and are proud of their traditions. what is needed is massive expansion of opportunities to accommodate all irrespective of economic status. How do you expect one 'maratta' out of 1000 get a post graduate seat under reserved quota when there is only one reserved seat.

Modi gives this example in his speeches; all teaching posts were filled based on performance in the entrance test and selection list made by the computer without human intervention, pressure, influence and corruption. Perhaps gujarat's experience on similar issues will open many eyes.

Krishji,

OBC reservations cannot be stopped by Modi...In fact MODI is canvassing that he is an OBC

Hindu nationalist being at the helm will help all..There will not be any minority appeasement...Only those who will work for the nation( any caste or religion)will matter...

Under Modi large scale corruption aka 2G , Coal block scams will not happen

The Modi bandwagon is getting more allies by the day including Actor Vijay & Rajinikanth and M.K.Azhagiri

Talking further , good governance , removing CBI,CVC,CAG off the backs of administraters, less corruption due to openness and removing retrograde and regressive taxes ,deregulation and reducing judicial over reach may be laudable .and lead to higher growth

.these have to be tempered with bipartisan politics by carrying the opposition to get it passed thru parliament as many measures require constitution amendments . when bjp has not cooperated in the past ,do you think congress will now reciprocate . FDI ceiling raises ,GST require the opposition help . so do some reforms in taxation

. selctive growth favoring big corporates have to be reduced to include medium and small . employment generation requires huge social sector spending as enablers to wean away agriculture labour to services and industry .

most wanting employment are unskilled. skill training has to be a priority . all these will be lost in growth chants.
we are headed for uncertainity and disaster with an autocrat .

how long do you think he will last?

what modi has been saying in all his rallies need not be repeated here.

there are hundreds of corrections in administration that can be implemented by executive decisions and without changing laws. Bharat is headed for a dynamic life under modi, if gujarat is taken as a reference. Wild accusations -autocrat- etc have no basis and no supporting evidence. A relook of modi's personality and achievements through the eyes and words of eminent may help in getting a balanced picture of the man with a mission.

That is the legitimate fear of sonia, congress and the pseudo secular regional parties and communists. He will easily last three full term of 15 years; and like karunanidhi who had to sit out for fourteen years and cry 'inda 14 vrusha vanavasam porada?', the current congress and communal leaders will be addressless. We all will be here to see this transformation.

why not this tinpot self proclaimed PM

atlast brahmins are learning to support their own clan . It does not matter if he wins or not . it will send a message that they also can make some difference.if they try tactical voting with most marginalised groups they can also decide who wins . then political parties will take notice and woo them.

Modi's interview in CNBC:

Some key issues; link at the end for full report. They who shout - autocrat, devil, nazi and worse expletives must read and reevaluate.

"The BJP’s Prime Ministerial contender came out against the blanket sale of loss-making public sector undertakings (PSUs) and said these bodies can be professionalised to improve their performance, employees can be taken into confidence and trusted to turn the organisations around, and that it would be wrong to malign them all them as useless.
"
in Gujarat, the State electricity board had an annual deficit of Rupees 2500 Crore, but by introducing professionalism and technological upgradation, it improved its efficiency and stopped making losses. As Chief Minister, he said, the very first delegation that met him comprised employees of the State Fertiliser Corporation which was on the verge of closure. The Government drew up a plan and today it is one of the highest profit making PSUs in the State.
"
Narendra Modi saidthat among Indian leaders, “only I had the guts to stand among corporateleaders and get my picture taken; others meet secretly”. Gujarat, heelaborated, hosts the Vibrant Gujarat Investors Summit for two days biannually, where all investors from the country and abroad are invited, because to giveemployment to the youth there must be industrial development. Here, he said, half of one day is dedicated to the small and medium industries sector, wherenew entrepreneurs come forward to invest. If the nationwide growth of thissector is just 20 per cent, in Gujarat it is 85 per cent.
"
“I go to the villages and take my entire Government with me. We go house-to-house and exhort parents to send their children to school and the result is 100 per cent enrolment”. Gujarat hosts an annualKrishi Mahotsav from May to June and all 800 agricultural scientists from the universities, and all officials of the relevant departments go from field to field and talk to the farmers about seeds, crops, fertilisers, pesticides; a complete lab-to-land knowledge transfer that has taken agricultural growth from 2 per cent to 10 per cent.
"
It is difficult to clean up this system overnight, he said, but a beginning can be made with all MPs who are elected in 2014. The Supreme Court can take the affidavits they have submitted to the Election Commission and decide cases or allegations pending against them in a time-bound manner so that there is Damocles sword hanging over their heads. If they are convicted, the seat will be vacated. This can be extended to all elected MLAs, to all candidates who filed nominations, and taken down to the corporation and panchayat level. His vision, he said, would be an “apradh mukt rajniti” (crime free politics) by 2019.
"
On subsidies, he said the poor have the first claim on resources, but his priority would be to bring people out of poverty and not to keep them poor.
"
Narendra Modi was adamant that he would never make communal appeals; in Gujarat, he spoke of six crore Gujaratis and in India about 125 crore citizens. “My terminology is for one nation, for the youth, the poor, the kisan, the sheher (town, city), education, health”, he said.

Obama quietly reverses Hillary’s ‘get Modi’ policy

Sure sign usa has realised its folly and has started making amends.
Will hillary ever become prsident of usa?

"US President Barack Obama has quietly reversed a policy initiated by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to "get Narendra Modi" — ostensibly for the 2002 Gujarat riots, but in actuality "for taking stands that may be different from that favoured by the US administration"
"
"Hillary Clinton likes to operate throughNGOs, which are given funding through indirect channels, and which targetindividuals and countries seen as less than respectful to her views on foreignand domestic policy in the target countries," a retired US official nowbased in Atlanta said. He claimed that "rather than US NGOs, (the former)Secretary of State Clinton favoured operating through organisations based inthe Netherlands, Denmark and the Scandinavian countries, especiallyNorway" as these were outside the radar of big power politics. These NGOswere active in the agitation against the Russian nuclear power plant atKudankulam in Tamil Nadu, with "funding coming mainly from a religiousorganisation based in Europe that has close links with France".
"
during the tenure in office of Secretary Clinton, several expert teams in the guise of NGOs were sent to Gujarat to try and find mass graves". The purpose was to then take the matter to the Office of the UN Commissioner of Human Rights in Geneva as an example of genocide.
"
Coming back to the BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi, these sources say that the Obama administration has dialled back on the hectic efforts by Hillary Clinton to paint the Gujarat CM as guilty of mass murder and even genocide. "This is clear from the latest report of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, which has sharply scaled back its criticism of the Modi government as compared to earlier reports". According to a senior official, "President Obama does not share Hillary Clinton's confrontational approach and her preference for Sonia Gandhi, and is looking to establish a pragmatic partnership with India should Modi become the Prime Minister".
"
President Obama "is alarmed at the steep downslide in India-US ties caused by Hillary-style crusades, and wants the relationship to be even better than what it was under the Bush presidency".

Whatever the outcome of the election one must say that the process of election was very efficient. The process of casting my vote on election day just took 7 minutes- the booths were nearby. The polling staff were very courteous even though they must have started work at 5 am in the morning. Found them to be more courteous than the air hostesses. We have come a long way and with the percentage of polling steadily increasing the future is bright.

only prayaschitta available to mms is to write and publish a true confession statement of what he did and what he did not in swindling the country and weakening its security and stability. four years ago swamy called him a puppet controlled by sonia's strings. he deserves no sympathy; he must be punished for abetting crime and stripped of all laurels and retirement benefits.

something fishy in the analysis. in reserved constituencies, person belonging to the reserved caste is sure to win as all contestants are from the reserved community. the forward community does not gain in any way whether they vote or not. all parties will want their members to vote. does it mean that even muslims and christians prefer nota to normal voting?

I like your optiism too! You must have meant MMS. Because, according to the dictionary,
tinpot is used as an adjective, meaning "having or showing poor leadership or organization".
And we have lived through ten years of his PM

MMS was just a proxy PM . I pity him only. He had control neither over his own party ministers or allies.
Tinpot meant to me-an autocratic person with doubtful abilities strutting about claiming super human qualities of leadership and boasting of non existent performance. and power . only one person qualifies under this heading.- I do not know if it is wrong usage of the word

You are trying to be the judge and the jury. And for the person you have in mind, wrong usage.
