Dear Mr. Raju,
We are losing our culture, our ancient languages and what not!
I am doing my mite by presenting ten Sanskrit words with multiple meanings, every day. It may be just like the squirrel helping Sree Rama to build the Sethu Sri Lanka.
I could not find the meaning of the word being discussed, as told by your Sanskrit scholar in my dictionary!
But I am reminded of a story told by Sree Rama Krishna Paramahamsa.
A lady wears glass bangles when she is a sumangali and changes over to gold bangles, when she becomes a widow!
The concept behind this act?
When her husband was alive he was a perishable person and she wore the perishable glass bangles. When he returned to his source, the God Almighty he became indestructible. So the lady changed over to gold bangles which are also indestructible.
But it would have been more practical to do it the other way in my honest opinion.
Everyone must determine to revive the priceless language Sanskrit, we unanimously seem to be neglecting due to sheer indifference!
with warm regards,
Mrs.V.R. ray2:
