hmm, sadly someone is trying to end this topic with difficulty. i said sad. too bad

Dear JR ,

I wonder if you remember that you had started a thread about what you define as success and you stated many reasons why you feel your are successful..right from your job to the size of your house and also praising your spouse.

Did you feel that thread would have made anyone else feel uneasy? No isnt it?

I am sure you only felt you wanted to share with members how you define and view success.

I felt happy to see that you are doing well in life but at the same time I feel going thru adversities in life help us in our understanding of humanity better.

Most people only speak of their happiness..people seldom speak of their sorrow becos the innate nature of humans is happiness.

So when someone shares their happiness with us it becomes our happiness too.

It is NOT normal human tendency to feel disgust with happiness/success of others...thats totally abnormal.

Dear Renuka,

'Announcing'' yourself once as to who you are, what are your educational qualifications are, etc. is not bragging.

BUT if you do it everyday, for every opportunity that 'shines' out there to 'showcase' your 'famed' profession, that is really tantamount to BRAGGING.

Feeling disgust at other braggers is indeed normal human tendency, if not you wouldn't have opened another thread that asks, "why do people brag"?

By the way, in my 'success' thread, I only said I live in a 'small' house (but was rather happy about it nevertheless), had 'depression', etc. I don't know that relating one's negative experience also falls in the category of 'bragging'.

Dear JR,

Whatever said and done...I really admire you.

You stood a high risk of being fully misunderstood when you started this thread.

But knowing that you stood the risk of being misunderstood still you managed to stand true to your firm convictions..

I really admire you..in fact you remind me of Vidya Balan.

Vidya Balan did not fit into the Bollywood stereotype when it came to fashion sense and appearance but she proved a winner no doubt.

Keep up your good posts JR..You are indeed a woman of substance.

BTW I started that thread about why do human's brag just for fun cos its a Saturday and a fun day.

It was for fun hence I started the thread in Chit Chat.

If I was serious it would have been in GD section.

Personally, I had started off with an "encounter' with Smt. Renuka two years or so ago; it had to do with Satya sai Baba, an object of devotion to her, but one who I view as a very successful trickster. However, as time passed, I realized that she is more of what a brahmin should try to be and because of this our interactions in this forum have been cordial since then. She does not advertise her doctorship as often or as jarringly, as perhaps some people exhibit and brag about their own religious pursuations and their beliefs, godheads, etc., in a brazen manner. There is another Dr. member who is also self-effacing in this forum and no complaint can be levelled against that person also.

Above all, nobody has any special privileges here, except the owner Shri Praveen; we are all roofless wanderers who have been allowed to take rest in Praveen's Dharma Chathram. Let us always remember that.

So where did all your 'voices' and messages that declare 'equality for all' go, when I was personally TARGETED AND ATTACKED BRUTALLY a few weeks ago in this very forum for BRAGGING, when just once I said about standing Univ. 1st in M.Sc degree and having done MS in SWE? Did you all feel 'tongue-tied' for some reason?? Preceding to this declaration about myself, I had revealed I am not from a well-off family, suffered on many fronts, had depression, and so forth... So either your hearts are cheating you or you are not brave to face certain persons while you put a 'brave front' when it comes to me. Why is that so?

Since Renu is very active in forum and shares her experiences which are relevant to each thread, she has to write about her

patients often. It is her professional experience and can't be branded as bragging. If so, all the medical professionals are

braggers, since they are sure to talk about the lives they have saved, to others! :)

I feel if there is anyone who should be complaining...its should be me.

Well this thread finally narrowed down to me.

I cant force anyone to like me neither can I stop anyone from disliking me.

Sometimes unknowingly we could have pissed off someone but as far as I am concern I am quite direct and open and diplomatic enough to handle criticism.

I hope we just try to be cordial with each other and not ruin existing on line friendships.

No bad feelings please.......I am not trying to act as a Mr Good Guy here.

I just wish some would realize and be in my shoes to feel how it is to have a thread all about you in a "negative" light...yet I am diplomatic..may be I should change my profession and be a diplomat.

I just wish this thread would come to an end for the well being of everyone

No need to be upset, Renu. As far as I know, you are the only medical professional active in our forum. Hence I wrote about you.

We had Dr. Barani (doctorate?) earlier, who left, after spending some time here. Dr. Anandhi, a doctorate, also left after some

interactions with us. Dr. C. N appreciates the posts she likes but does not interact much. And........ how can anyone forget the

doctor who entered and left forum like a tornado !

JR,

I do not interfere in some threads. You seem to be talking about one such thread in which you will find only one post from me dated 28-12-2012 and nothing thereafter! To tell you the truth i avoid clicking there so that i don't contribute one more number to the "views". I therefore do not know what transpired there.

You have got a very good memory, Sangom Sir!

BTW, was it New Year 2013 resolution? Just kidding. No offense please. :)

Forum also needs 'tornados', storms, battle, etc once in a while. Otherwise it will be boring with thinking on ideas.
