Ghosts are real.
Like this real life incident happened to me when I was working in Factory in a Village called Sankrail, Howrah Dist, and West Bengal.
I was young and bachelor then
The factory where I was on the banks of Hoogly river; the place is called Sankrail, Howrah district (you can verify this)
Nearest Railway station is also called sankrail Railway Station.
I was doing at that time my post graduate MBA course from Calcutta University.
I was doing evening courses, that means by the time I reach Sankrail station from Howrah by train it would be around 11.30 pm. as there were very few locomotives trains at that time (1967-68)
Usually very few travel by that train to Sankrail, most of them get down at Andul station or some other big city station. (Howrah District)
One winter night the train got delayed and reached Sankrail station just after midnight.
Only a couple of passengers got down and walked briskly in some other direction
I was all alone standing on the platform
Suddenly I heard a lady voice in Bengali. Asking me” kemon achen” Meaning how are you?
I was feeling tired and thought some company is better than none.
I asked her where she is going. She told the a place which I know is very near to my factory She requested me to accompany her as she is afraid to walk in dark. I said ‘okay’ and we started to move. . She asked in soft voice where I was going, and I told her
I tried to see her face, but she has covered it with a muffler.
After a few steps she told me that she knows a short cut route to my place, I thought for a moment then agreed since it was pitch dark, and winter cold was biting me

After walking some distance we faced a burial ground!!! No one was around, only some tall palm trees. My heart skipped a beat. And I told her I do not want to go through that burial ground.
The answer she gave me made me jump out of my skin!!!
She was laughing loudly and said she lives there…and vanished in thin air!!!!

My legs felt very heavy. I could not lift them. I could not ever cry out for help as no sound was coming from throat; something was blocking my throat.

Somehow I managed to turn back and ran towards a lamp post which I could see…

I was profusely sweating by the time I reached that Lamp post.
Fortunately for me a Bihar rickshaw fellow was there; sleeping on his vehicle.
I woke him up... and almost begged him to take to my address. (Told him the factory name where company has provided me a bachelor accommodation)

He asked me double charge which I did not mind paying him, and thanked God for allowing me to stay alive.

Ghosts are real it seems!!!

I do not have any personal experience, and I am skeptic.
But doing research on this topic I came across this writeup.

All latent impression of dead person referred as ‘pinda shareera’ is destroyed by Hindu dead rituals like Shraadha and Tarpana. So the question of such souls roaming around as ghosts does not exist. Those ‘pinda shareera’ that did not receive proper burial get destroyed in due natural course.

But the greatness of Santana Dharma is that while performing rituals to dead ancestors, people knowingly or unknowingly perform rituals to all the dead. Thus it is believed that annual sharaadha ceremony performed destroys all the latent impressions of all the dead. Thus what is called ghost is properly dealt in Hindu religion and is given proper rest through rituals.

In Bhagavad Gita 8.6
Krishna states categorically.

yam yam vapi smaran bhavam
tyajaty ante kalevaram
tam tam evaiti kaunteya
sada tad-bhava-bhavitah

Whatever state of being one remembers when he quits his body, O son of Kunti, that state he will attain without fail.

I do not think it involves the Ghost state.

Dear Sir,

I received 2 emails telling me to go to forum cos PJ sir started a thread on my favorite topic.

I am Wow! I love this topic.

Yes Yes Yes!!! Ghost are real and really real for those who have experienced and seen or felt them or whatever.

Hope to hear more Ghostie stories from you sir.

Foot Steps behind….

Have you run your fingers down the wall and have you felt your neck skin crawl when you're searching for the light? Sometimes when you're scared to take a look at the corner of the room, you've sensed that something's watching you.
Have you ever been alone at night, thought you heard footsteps behind, and turned around and no one's there? And, as you quicken up your pace, you find it hard to look again, because you're sure there's someone there.

I have experienced these moments, even now when I recollect my neck hair stand up.

It was on a rainy night in 1973; I was working alone overtime to complete
Workers’ bonus calculations, the time was few minutes past midnight, the night durwan left to make routine rounds leaving me all alone.( in a Jute Mill Factory)

Suddenly I had a feeling that someone breathing over my neck, hot air touching my
neck. I turned back into the empty hall, no one was seen...still I could sense the
Presence of some movements behind me, I thought at first it was my imagination only and continued to work.

Then, I heard a sound. of some table drawer opening.... my eyes
Opened wide. I called out Ramdev (night durwan) who took my permission to go to tea shop,
My own voice echoed, and I was about to run to the entrance.
I looked back into the empty office hall, murky shadow moved at the corner. Then suddenly the lights went off... it was pitch dark inside the office hall,

I had to move now carefully to avoid office files spread over the floor,
Now I have to go to main door to go out, had to cross two big halls, it was too much for me.
Something was blocking my throat. I could not even call Ramdev;
Now the chilling moments came, heard foot steps behind...

My heart skipped a beat; I started to move fast towards the main door,
A lump blocked my throat,
I came to the second hall, heard again the footsteps following me and I had the feeling that someone walked past me…
Ramdev called me from the front door, now I was little bit relieved

No sooner I reached him, I shouted at him for his delay in coming to my room as soon as the lights went off
But he was silent, simply moved ahead of me.
We both reached the main entrance; at last there was some
help.
Ramdev looked back at me and went out into the darkness.

Another Durwan came rushing towards me

What he told me made me jump out of my skin
“Shaheb, Ramdev met with an accident when he was crossing the road towards tea shop, his body is lying there sir. Personal officer Jacob is handling this.”

I could not move my feet now, felt very heavy…

Do you believe this?

Dear Renu,

Two more friends of P J Sir, the 'Bengali MOhini pisAsu' and 'Ramdev ghost' will be
happy to join your unseen ghost friends' group!! :grouphug:

hi RR madam,

there are many ppl have AATHU MOHINI PISASU....no need to go to bengal....,many ppl feel PISASU IN THE HOME ITSELF....lol

There is lot of studies on Near Death Experience. The second ghost story about Ramdev is believable since once the soul leaves the body, it lingers around for a few minutes before it reaches its destination. That is probable what Ramdev's soul did.

Greetings.

These ghosts are not fair. I spent hours at the burial ground; at times I slept there too. Once an unfortunate young girl commited sucide... afterwards, I walked past that well so many times during all hours of night... it sure looks like these ghosts sure ignored me all the time! Grrrrrr.....

Ghosts are about as real as sensory hallucinations are to a sufferer of diseases/conditions involving the temporal lobe of the brain. The sights, smells and sounds seem very real to the sufferer but are not experienced by anybody else

If I saw a ghost and it wasn't a prank of some sort, I would see a neurologist!!!

May be lucky people (!) only meet ghosts!
Or, ghosts like to interact only with lucky people! :pound:

Dear RR ji,

I somehow have an idea that people who can see or experienced Ghost have some real good internal broadband system that can pick up any Ghost website!LOL

Really I mean it..cos how else can you explain why only some people get all the ghost experience and some don't.

But I have met lots of army officers and soldiers who have had enough experiences of the weird kind in the jungle.
Once one army officer told me that he was in the jungle once with his troops they saw many beautiful unclothed girls bathing at the waterfall and river past midnight and these females were calling them to join them.

He said a strong flower fragrance was pervading the area.None of the soldiers dared go near these females cos they seemed too beautiful and they knew no human female will be bathing past midnight in the middle of the jungle.

After a while all of the females started screeching and vanished!

To a certain extent the ability to see Ghosts can run in families.

My mother has the ability and so do I and my 2 brothers.

My dad keeps saying its so unfair that only some get to see Ghost! He has yet to see any till now!LOL

Check your star with Guna, and if you are coming under ‘Demon’ you may not be afraid of Ghosts, ( probably you belong to the group of Ghosts!!) and if you belong to Human, you are likely to see the presence of Ghosts and threatened, and if you belong to Divine group, you are likely to be scared by them !!

Once when I was aged 19 we had moved to a different state cos my dad was transferred to Kuala Lumpur and we stayed for 3 months in a rented house cos our own house was not fully renovated yet.

I entered the rented house and my father told me to use the back room upstairs.
I entered the room and felt a chill feeling and a thick atmosphere feeling as if the air was more dense there.

I told my dad "I think there is a ghost here".

My dad was angry with me saying "you and your ghost"..this is a city ..no ghosts here!

I was quite sure I was right cos I felt the air more dense.I can not relate this feeling but it's as if we face resistance when we walk.

But since no one believed me..life went on as usual.
One morning...I woke and saw my mum in my room.

I asked her "how did u get in..I slept with my door locked"

My mum said "no your room door was wide open"

I was wondering how this happened and did not really care thinking I must have forgotten to lock it.

Same thing occured for several days..my door would be wide open in morning.

I do not sleep walk so it is not possible for my door to be unlocked and open on its own.

Then one day..after I woke up and I went downstairs for breakfast..I was coming up to my room and was about to hold the door knob to open the door but before I could touch the door knob..the knob started moving on it own.

I ran and called my mum and she came up to see this and she and I both saw the door knob moving on it's own and then the door open on it's own!

So finally my mum believed me(I don't get it when she herself can see Ghost but still she needs convincing when I see one)

That night I told my dad I am going to sleep in their room and I slept on their bed and my dad said he will sleep in my room.

My dad did not see anything and neither did the door open when he was there!LOL

So my dad said "see no ghost!"

So next day I slept there( in the haunted room) again and the door opened again.

The next morning it was even worse cos when I woke and wanted to open my cupboard the cupboard door just came flying off and landed on me cutting me a bit on my neck and I had a fall and was slightly injured.

Then my father was convinced something was there cos there is no way the cupboard door could just come flying off on its own!

I was lucky that the part of the cupboard door that landed on me was the wooden part and not the one with the nails and the metal part.

Then my father never let anyone sleep there and we moved out after a few weeks.

I don't know if I would be afraid of a ghost or not..... haven't seen one to verify.... I belong to 'demon' ghanam... but still, this kind of total avoidance seems very unfair. I also have many stories of hanging out in all sorts of places, boogy atmospheres, scary situations... but no ghost! Come on! This can't be right!

Talking about brave feeling.... Once one of my senior ( he was 16 then and I was 12) was bathing in the morning in one of the irrigation pumpsets... he noticed someone hanging from a nearby tree. He didn't observe any movement.... he calmly informed the first elderly guy he came across.... he calmly came home and went to the college as usual!

Anyway, looking forward to meet a ghost, please. Thanks.

Another Real life Ghost Experience!!

I took a lodge in south Calcutta after I was transferred from the Factory to main office; my room was the only room on the top floor, facing an open space; one day after my office work, I entered my room very late at night around midnight.
As I entered the room and felt very hot as the only window facing the open space was closed.

Next day I was talking casually to one of the customer who was staying there in the ground floor room when I was taking morning breakfast.
He told me that he vacated the room where I am staying now only last week to occupy a room in the ground floor since he had strange dreams when he was sleeping in that room.; we decided to continue the topic as it was time to catch up my office bus.
In the evening when I returned from office, I was searching for that particular customer, but was told by the Hotel manager, he already vacated the room and do not know his forwarding address.
After a two or three days strange started to happen!; as it was summer, I used to keep the window open so that I can get some wind through it, but during one night I had a feeling of someone standing outside the window and looking at me!! It was open space only, and no one could possible stand there out!! I could not sleep, then after, that night.

Next two days nothing happened and I went about my usual routine chores; one day while I was returning from the office I met that customer near the out gate of my lodge; he said he came to collect some posts from the manager and he is not going to visit this lodge again; then I asked him why did he vacate the room ; he said that one of the inmates committed suicide in the lodge hanging himself from the ceiling fan, and he did not know in which room he committed that suicide as most of the inmates who were there when the incident occurred had already vacated . He advised me to look for another lodge. I asked him to give his new address and name of the lodge so that in case I need to vacate I can go to his lodge.
I decided to ask the Manager of that lodge about that incident, but unfortunately for me, he was not around!!
As I had already paid one month advance already, there is no way for me except to stay put in that lodge till the end of the month which is another 10 days far!!

After finishing my dinner when I went to my room I saw the room door was completely opened!! I never keep the door open even if go out of the room for a few minutes, this was really shocking to me!!
I asked about this to ward boy, he said he did not know anything, but people says such things happen here regularly!!

That night suddenly I woke up and a saw person standing before my cot!
Before I could shout, he vanished in the thin air!!

I ran and called the ward boy and he came and said that possibly I was only dreaming there is nothing like ghosts etc and it is all one’s imagination only; as we were talking outside my room, the doors closed themselves slowly!! Now both of us knew that “there is something in there!!
We called another ward boy for help, and we tried to open the door, but we could not!!

That night I slept in the Manager’s room as the Manager was away,

Next morning when I went to my room, the door was completely open; when asked, the ward boy said, he did not open it and grinned at me seeing the fear in my face.
That day I had to attend the office and go to Factory with company Auditors for Physical verification of Stores material with Company Auditors.

So I took break fast and left for office, thinking to vacate the room as soon I return from the office!! But it did not happen that way as I was held up in the factory itself since the Auditors found some shortage of materials compared to Bin card and they were investigating the Stores In-charge regarding that.

It was well past night 11 pm when I returned to the lodge and t fortunately for me the ward boy kept my dinner plate in my room. I almost begged the ward boy to sleep in my room and promised to pay him for his help.
He said he is on ‘night duty’ and he is supposed to attend any new customer coming in.
That left me alone or again I had to sleep in the Manager’s room;
When contacted Manager told me that he is sorry, he can’t accommodate me in his room as a Junior Manager has joined the lodge, and he has to accommodate him only.

Now really I am left alone!!! It was past 11. Pm, and I decided to collect my things for night sleep and go and sleep in the ward boy’s room!!!
(Eppadi iruntha nan ippadi ayitene!!)

Next day morning I phoned my office Manager, and asked for permission for half day late, fortunately he was kind enough to grant me that permission.
As I was collecting my things from cub boards etc, some one hit on my back very hard!!! Turning back, I found none!!!
That’s it!!
I ran down, covering two / three steps at a time and stood before the manager and incoherently told him about someone hitting me hard on my back.

Manager came with me to my room and with the help of two ward boys ( to be on the safer side I called another ward boy also ) I removed my things in a suitcase and left the lodge for that new address which that customer gave me;
I did not even collect some balance on my rental account and told the manager to give it ward Boys. I also gave each ward boy sufficient tips for their help!!

In Malaysia we have lots of foreign workers from Indonesia that do heavy construction work.
When we do medical check up on them and also X rays we can see on Xray the presence of charm needles in their chest.

Charm needles are inserted for various reasons.
It is part of a black magic ritual. Most workers wear charm needles for strength.

The black magic practitioner inserts it after reciting some mantras and it slips into the chest but its visible on X ray.

Ok these charm needles comes with a resident ghost that stays with the person!
So it's the ghost that gives strength to the person.

Some women wear charm needles in their face(it's called Susuk) to enhance beauty.

Ok one day I had an Indonesian male patient who had a fall from the construction site and injured his hand, leg and head badly.
He needed to be admitted right away and I gave him 1st aid and was planning to refer him to hospital.

Then he told me that he does not want to go to hospital.
This guy showed no signs of pain even though the extent of injury was massive.

Then suddenly his voice changed to a harsh tone when I told him..that he has to go to hospital.
I thought that he was getting angry but I realized that even his face started to change.
He looked sort of scary/evil and the voice that spoke was rough and gruff and was telling me "You listen to what he says..he said not to send him to hospital..just listen and don't try to go against what he says"

The voice was speaking in 3rd person and became more aggressive when I still said that I am referring the patient to hospital and started to yell at me forcibly saying "YOU LISTEN HERE! YOU BETTER NOT REGRET THIS"

I was thinking either this patient has a split personality or some ghost from his charm needles was speaking through him.

I did not reply him but just asked his employer to take him to hospital.

In early 1960's I was working in a tyre factory and there was a single large hall, fully air-conditioned for six of the Directors (all foreigners) and a part of it for the technical assistants and assistant chemists to do their quality checks. I was a technical assistant.

It so happened that the news about planchette writing became a rage in Bombay then. One method of planchette was to use a tea glass to move over a board on which the English alphabets and numbers will be legibly written, three people will touch the glass very lightly with their finger-tip, either all of them or one of them will invite the ghost of a dead person and then the people around may just think of a question and the glass would move over the alphabets and numbers which would make an answer. This used to be regularly practised during the night-shifts especially when a kind gentleman was the factory Manager for the shift. Many dead persons' ghosts were thus reportedly invited and many questions answered wonderfully and this became the talk of the day among the assistants.

Since I was a fresh recruit I did not at first enter into this meeting lest the seniors got offended, but in due course, one night I just entered the cabin where this seance was going on. I could not find the tea glass moving and then those touching the glass complained that I was the spoil-sport. So, I came out and then the glass started moving. (I could see that because all the cabins had transparent glass doors only.) I suspected it to be a coordinated trick to fool me and so, on subsequent days also I entered into the cabin and the planchet-writing stopped completely.

Incidentally my birth-star falls under raakshasa gana, so, may be ghosts are afraid of me!
