Ghosts are real !!

I don't really have much knowledge about Ghosts but all I know is they seem to be very free to contact me some way or the other.
Even my horoscope says.."she will be prone to disturbances by Ghost"

But I do not really find it a disturbance..kind of got used to it after a while.

Once when I was in the government service..I was posted to a rural set up.
Some team building event with canoes were held at a nearby lake.
I was asked to join it but before I said yes..one evening I drove to the lake to take a look at the place.

I found that even though the lake was beautiful..I felt as if the place had a black cloud misty feeling.
I can't really explain this feeling but it's as if the area seemed sans sunlight feeling even though it was broad day light.

I did not feel like being there and I informed the rest of the medical team that I will not be joining them.

The other went for the event and many females and males got hysteria at night and were screaming in their sleep. (they camped there).

Then the local Bomoh(Traditional Healer) said that that place is haunted and the spirits did not like intruders camping there.

I was thinking "that explains that dark sans sunlight feeling"

It was a real beautiful lake but somehow it feels as if it's in a different loka all together.

during the 80's when the cult of ghost movies were doing rounds all over the world , "The exorcists" wa one such movie which i heard made people run away from theatres or a Ambulance was placed outside the theatre in Chennai. We used to hear that there was also a competition where in one has to sit all alone in the hall and watch the movie, and prizes were given if one sat thru the entire movie.... Dont know haow far these were true. But lot of hype was created for this movie and "The Omen"...

I kind of disagree with the statement that only those who have weak mind..Ghost come to them.
Sight is a total different apparatus from mind.

I feel anyone can see Ghost if a Ghost decides to make a cameo appearance...the weak minded will drop dead and the strong minded get used to it.

Dear Sir,

I saw all those movies when I was very young.
Movies don't really scare me cos at the back of my mind I know that it's all acting..so I could sit through all of those movies..but my brothers used to get scared..I will be seated in between them and they will hug and scream when some scary scenes start.

Now they are not scared of anything.

I like B grade horror movies cos the ghost will appear in the 1st scene itself and be chasing some scanty clad American teenager(who will be making out with her partner in a lake side cottage)!LOL

The A grade horror movies..sometimes are boring cos Ghost takes a long time to appear.... only towards the end the Ghost will appear that too you will start to wonder was is a Ghost or not!

Nothing beats the B grade ones..worth the money!LOL

There is also a belief among older generation that our Soul or AAVI goes goes while we sleep , keeping a rope like connection with the body!!That is the reason, elders in those days advise to wake up a person from sleep gently so that the AAVI gets back into the body; don't know how far this is true, but some people die while they sleep might be related to this reason, that the soul is not able to 'get in'.

However, when i was a kid, Jada Muni, Ratha Katteri, Kolluvai Pisachu, were the usual terms used to scare us. Since many members here are very scared about Ghosts, i am not narrating some more incidents that happened long back in my life!!

The rope like connection is called Astral cord.
The cord that connects the Subtle Body to the Physical Body.
Yes..the Subtle Body does travel at night during sleep..some people are experts at this and remember everything but some do not remember anything.

Sometimes dreams are the travels and encounters of the Subtle Body in various lokas of travel.

Suddenly awaking a person does not really make the Subtle body disconnect from the Physical body.

BTW don't stop the stories about Ghosts..no one is scared..I have a feeling it is only me who believes all your stories and the rest of members could be thinking that you and I must be nuts!LOL

So don't stop please.

'AAVI' of a stream is in white color, and souls are believed to be in 'white in color' ; no one describes soul in other than white.

It is very true that 'araNdavan kaNNukku iruNdathellAm pEy'!

This happened when I was in primary school. On a new moon day, I was in the sit out of our house and chatting with my younger

sister. There were only four houses on each side of our steet and a Krishna temple at the end. There were no street lights and so

the front light of all the houses will be switched on till 10pm. It was seven in the evening and suddenly there was a power cut. We

wanted to show our brave nature and continued our chat. Suddenly a white shirt and dhoti entered our street and walked towards

us! We were scared to death but could not even get up in fear! A known voice called out our names too... By God's grace power

supply was restored and we saw one of the dark complexioned masters of our school, clad in purest white shirt and dhoti, with a

friendly smile!

If you think or imagine that ghost or spirit will haunt you, control your thoughts and think that nothing will happen to you. We often build scary monsters in our heads. Your thoughts and imagination that you are more powerful than those ghosts and spirits will give you more courage. Try not to bother about them, try to sleep alone few times; and many times we get the courage we need after we have done what we feared. Not the other way around.
(but I never sleep alone!! This advice for others only)

If you can search for that clip , please try to see; you will understand more about AAVI...
It was real, not imaginary story.

I still think, ghosts may only be visible to strong minded persons.

It is quite common for elderly persons to suffer from orthostatic hypotension; so, it would be much better for them to wake up, steady themselves before walking ( my grandmother never listened to me; tumbled down the stairs once due to orthostatic hypotension).

Once one 'samiyar guy' ( we used to smoke together!) told me I have a 'jada muni' as my guardian angel! He said due to the permanent presence of 'jada muni' ghosts would never bother me! out:

Dear PJ sir,

In the novel Ponniyin Selvan Kalki gives out a detailed explanation on the " Kollivaai Pisaasu" belief of the village people thru Vandyaththevan. That would be in Second part and when Poonguzali takes him out in the night to the seashore to show her midnight friends. That portion of the chapter would be thirlling to read and the kollivai pisasu belief is given a scientific explanation. Please read thru if you would like to read Kalki's novel.

Even in western movies The Devil is always so handsome till he turns angry!

I am sure our own Asuras in the Puranas would have been more handsome than any of the Devas!LOL
Just to denote their evil ways they are often described as ugly etc.

I am quite sure Asuras were handsome.

After all even Lord Rama was dumbstruck when he saw Ravana's good looks.

I feel Devas would have looked nerdy!LOL

Your assumptionsare always correct. Yes i also feel the Asuras would have been Manly and strong and able to attract the fair sex in Dozens!! Still remember how handsome Ravana -T.K. Bagavthy looks in the film "Sampoorna ramayan".

And BTW the villains are always good looking and do well in the entire movie till the last frame!!

I read that book 'Dracula'. But I was much more impressed by "Salems lot" by Stephen King's 1975 novel. That book was startling, written in a very casual style. That is worth reading.
