Dear Kunjuppuji
A new role is opening out for you . reviewer of lost causes. for a minute I thought the photo was yours. got disappointed it was jothijis. you know subbudu ji was a lowly govt employee in delhi. after retirement became a good carnatic music critic in chennai with huge readership. keep it up. tamilnadu poor and neglected will find a messiah in you . you have a powerful pen with a heart for the poor.someone should stand up for the poor and the needy

Dear S S Sir,

Thanks for your feed back. :)

This lovely little girl living in the U S of A likes to wear a saree so much that she refused to change it when I stitched the first one

for her, when she visited me a few months back
. It is very easy to wear that the kid has to just 'get in' to the front pleated portion

and the wrap over the rest! Ready in one minute!! :thumb:

Dear Krish Sir,

If you are very curious to 'see' Kunjuppu Sir..... I can send his pic by PM. What say?? :)

P.S: K Sir indirectly helps the writers! You know how? By buying for himself and also by
presenting lots of their books! :popcorn:

dear krish,

i have heard a lot about subbudu. most of them not nice, and this, from the artistes themselves. apparently, he cut the artistes and their performances to pieces. there was a sadistic element, which was enjoyed by the readers. hence the huge fan following. those were the days before libel suits and what not. so he probably got away, with spewing, venom and killing comments.

i, sir, come from a different viewpoint. if you have something bad to say, then say nothing - in creative arts, for the artistes spend so much time and effort, and for most of them it is a vocation. that they do not have the talent is a different point, and the results of that absence, will come through, with time, as reflected by absence of patronage.

what i wrote to jothiji came from the heart, and was meant more as a constructive tool for rewriting this book or the next. my biggest fear, was that it would be taken in the wrong sense. that J did not suppress it, but ended up translating and publishing the review, made me think, that it was taken in good spirits.

but then, once he told me he was going to publish it and insisted on putting my name there, for credibility's sake, i was wondering if this would let in a barrage of paarppana arrogance replies. so it was indeed heartwarming and pleasing, to read the comments, which in toto accepted my review, as a worthy post by itself, and did justice to the book.

i would not venture so again, as i fear, i do not have the willingness to take upon a public role per se. i love the supposed anonymity here, for that very purpose, and have not hesitated to use epithets when i come across what i feel as stupid prejudices.

thank you very much for your kind letter and that too will be cherished. bon nuit!

RRJi
I thought your offer was unconditional. you will make a brilliant business woman.
I thought i was collecting freebies from you as done by most in tamilnadu.
now ,what I wonder is will a few [ I have only 4 or 5] who read my posts get turned off and stop reading after seeing the photo
next I am a computer moron. first tell me how to post a link. I have been asking PJ sir about it .. for photo ,after scanning and saving how do you post or send anywhere. do not assume great computer literacy from me . I am a moron.I have to be taught first. as you might have noted , i only post in threads and not even use the icons. I tried one icon posting and ended up posting the wrong one .LOL

About subbuduji
I agree.Though knowlegable his comments could be scathing and hurtful to some performers. perhaps unwarranted. it could be damaging for those in music profession.
Your approach to not to say anything bad is to be appreciated
I understand your fear of loss of anonymity and your desire to have freedom to express your feelings freely that anonymity gives you
I preferred this forum to facebook and others like that due to this reason
sometime or the other ,your activist role for the poor and marginalised will overcome the need for anonymity and it will be good for them for they will be the beneficiary
with best wishes
Krish

tell me RRji
are you a contact or a friend or both what should I press.
if I put photo in private album , does it give access to contact or friend.
can i avoid the private album route
loss of privacy inhibits free posting in threads and I am very outspoken and I have a liberal mindset. hence the hesitation. you are a veteran .you know best

Dear Krish Sir,

1. Need not be a friend in the LIST! Most of the members in my friend's list here are having 0% activity!

My activity gets flooded with ALL the posts by friends in the list; embarrassing since we don't even read some posts!

We are friends OK... No need to have in the list! Only Prasad Sir is in my friends list though I have lot more friends here!

2. I haven't uploaded much in the album. So no idea!

3. You need not post anything in album at all! Just relax. Photos can go via picasa album / e-mail.

4. No need to send you pic Sir, if you hesitate. But why do you want to SEE others. :lol:

5. Thank you. I shall tell how to post a photo in the following post!
icon3.png

To upload a picture in forum:

Left click on 'insert image' - the third icon from the right on the top bar of reply post.

A new window will open. We get two options - to upload from computer or from URL.

1. If upload is from computer, click on 'computer'; click on 'choose file from computer';
'
double click on image to be uploaded; then click on 'upload file'. Job done!

2. URL is used when we upload pictures from the internet / our picasa public album.

Choose picture; Right click on pic; move the pointer arrow on 'Copy image URL'; click to copy;

click IN the bar provided in the window, right click and then click on 'paste'. Finally, click OK. Done!

Try once and then you can upload the following pics in a few seconds!! All the best. :thumb:

Note: 'click' = left click. :)

When it is spring time everywhere, it is summer in Sing. Chennai. How to beat the heat without A. C on?

Fill up a wide tub with water, put two camphor tablets to float on water and keep it near the window.

When hot air blows in, the heat needed for evaporation of water will use up some heat and make the air cooler.

The smell of camphor will drive away the mosquitoes. Hence two in one idea! :thumb:

I keep a wide plate filled with water on the dining table for local cooling! :cool:

If a few ice cubes are added to the wide plate of water kept on the dining table for local cooling, result is better!!

Real :cool:

Save L P G!

Control the flame of the L P G stove to burn like a vertical cylinder. Let it not burn in a funnel shape

and reach the outer edge of the vessel kept over it. This method is sure to save a lot of gas! :D

The newly wedded groom tells his father-in-law not to worry about the bride, because he will not ask her

even to cut onions and hence there will be no tears in her eyes! Why do we shed tears while cutting onions?

When we cut an onion, it releases a gas called propanethiol S-oxide. When mixed with certain enzymes in the

onion, it creates a sulfur gas. These gases then get to our eyes and create a mild acid which irritates the eyes.

Here is an e
asy method for tear-free-onion-cutting:

Keep the onions immersed in a bowl of water and poke on the opposite side of each onion with a sharp knife.

The gas will be expelled and now it is safe to peel and cut the onions without :Cry: !
