RRjiWhy not we request the moderator to add one more award:
annaaism award??
Take it easy RV! I recommended the 'annAism award' for the member who is able to confuse the others in forum!
when i wanted to explain more..all are getting confused more...It is more based on the BG "CHATUR VARNYAM " Concept and making people to grow according to their natural traits so that whatever they can do better they can get a better job rather than every one competing in lac for a particular post or spending money recklessly in a study or learning a skill in which they have no interest...I have made it simple...still members are confused...i don't want to confuse...ANNAISM AWARD GOES TO RV...( I MYSELF DECLARED IT:violin::Cry::first:
Dear Vaitehi,
In the past women were thought to be less intelligent and denied education..but when education was given to females they have proved to be equally as good as males or even better at times.
So going by that your natural trait theory is totally denying any person to bloom in the field of his/her choice.
The word Guru is usually explained as Remover of Darkness and does NOT mean One Who Decides.
A teacher imparts knowledge and the student chooses what is best for themselves.
Each one of us plays a limited role in the life of anyone..even when dealing with a patient I cant force a patient to agree with me if he does not want a treatment.
So you see that is where we know that we are no decider of anyone else's life.
There are some types of people who do not tolerate natural talent and intelligence in others and try to suppress others by subtly brainwashing them into believing that they are not intelligent and not capable till the other person actually believes it and does not shine in life.
This behaviour is just like killing someone's future.
There are a lot of believers in natural traits theory .
Like we say , as a community , brahmins cannot shine in business ventures and some odd ball proves it wrong. Parents will force these children to abandon business ventures
similarly , brahmins have natural genes for education, and force them into more and more academics . It maybe true that some may be good in academics . but others also are pushed into it.
though correlation between belief and actual fact is not proven , most believe in such theories such as natural trait for education and career choices.
No worries, Sir!RRji , Rji
RIP for all awards in light of the above post.May god give you sufficient strength to bear this . .......... .
Dear naina marbus jiPeople do not seem to be aware of recent research studies. Please watch the video below.
A quick and simple explanation of the content of the video:
Our diets and lifestyles can change the expression of our genes by influencing a network
of chemical switches within our cells collectively known as the epigenome. Such studies
come under what is known as epigenetics.
Epigenetics relates to heritable changes in gene function that occur independently of alterations
in the genes themselves.
Depending on the food you eat, and the socio-cultural environment in which you are raised,
there are certain chemical modifications that occur to your gene that affect gene expression
(or gene activity) but do not alter the gene - that is the base sequence of DNA.
These chemical changes include methylation, the addition of a methyl group to certain
nitrogen bases. These modified patterns of gene expression are passed on from parent to
offspring. Even environmental factors can change the way in which your genes are expressed.
A growing body of evidence suggests that a wide variety of illnesses and behaviors may be
linked to epigenetic mechanisms. These include various cancers, cognitive dysfunction, and
autoimmune diseases.
The environmental factors suspected of altering epigenetic processes include but not limited
to metals ( even the vessels in which you cook), pesticides, tobacco smoke, drinking,
radioactivity, foods that you eat - vegetarian or non-vegetarian, etc etc. (But let us not
stay close to political correctness!)
The methyl groups involved in DNA methylation are often derived from dietary sources, such
as folate and choline, and explains why diet can have a significant impact on methylation
patterns and gene expression.
All these studies have been carried out on identical twins – people born with identical genes
but different behavior. Question of caste, creed, race, religion does not enter the picture.
But the epigenome concept may explain the differences between communities, castes, religions
and races.

RRji,We should thank Naina Sir for giving some good posts in this thread, which started like annAism!
BTW, how and when did this thread move to General Discussion?? :noidea:
In case any one is interested, vegetarian foods rich in choline are: Mustard, coriander leaf (cilantro), garlic, Chili powder, tomatoes, green peppers, carrots, wheat bran, pistachio nuts, peanuts, chickpeas (bengal gram dhal), mung dhal, lentils (toor dhal), peas, beans, etc
