Indesent Dressing by Girls

It has to do with dominance, power, and hating women enough to do something that will humiliate and shame her the most. It has NOTHING to do with a rape victim wearing short skirts, lots of make-up, or wearing shirts that expose their breasts, because even little old ladies get raped. It has NOTHING to do with a woman acting so sexy that the jerk who rapes her simply "lost control" of his lust. Only a man who is truly mentally ill can be driven to rape. It is a way for a very angry and sick man to dominate over a woman by the use of power, violence, and fear. NO victim of rape ever "asks" for it. Period!

The wonderful message given by Mr.Ali is a safe guard for women; it is not blaming the women.

The message is misplaced, I agree we have to be aware of our surroundings to protect ourself, but the message by Ali is totally misplaced.

Are you saying that rape never occurs in Pakistan or any other muslim country?

In many Muslim countries, rape is common but the idea that there should be four witnesses to prove the rape can be hard to produce as rape can take place when the aggressor and the victim are totally alone.
Some women prefer not to report the rapist for fear of scandal as sex outside marriage or rape is seen as dishonouring their family.
Rape in Muslim Countries | Comments on issues raised by BBC WHYS

Sharia law can make it hard for the victim to prove what happened. It typically demands a confession from the rapist or four male witnesses. In some Muslim countries, including Bangladesh and Somalia, rape victims may themselves end up being punished (including by flogging or stoning) for taking part in illicit sex. Some say that three-quarters of women in Pakistan’s jails are rape victims.

All I can say is many in forum fail to understand the psychology of a rapist.

It is much more complex than we can even think.

As long we keep blaming women..the problem of rape will never end.

Spot on, I wish that men talk with their wives, girl friends, or daughters before lecturing women about their dress, reproductive organs, and their bodies in general.

The Message given by Mr.Ali to his daughter is only for her Good; this message is universal, wherever women are.
No one is blaming women, but only a caution to her that her scanty dress might be attracted to sinful eyes.

Dress is also important for spiritual advancement; Human mind and body needs responsibilities. Covering our body decently is very much related to our spirituality.

Dear PJ sir,

I totally disagree with this.

This sounds like some Abrahamic religion where exposure is considered sin.

I still enjoy wearing my mini skirts right till this age and in no way feel less spiritual.

One should just know where and how to dress...for example this weekend I have to attend a Malay Muslim wedding...so obviously I am going to cover up and not wear a saree too cos a saree is considered revealing for Muslims here.

So I have to choose something which covers up my body as much a possible.

If I am attending a Hindu wedding in a temple hall..obviously the saree blouse has to be concealing types cos I am in temple grounds.

If it is a Hindu wedding in a hall(not in a temple hall)...then my saree style will be all hell break loose!LOL

Mr. PJ talking your argument a step further.
To stop any crime let us say Mugging, will you tell people to dress like beggars so they will not get mugged.
Similarly people get robbed because they seem rich, so all rich people must pretend to be poor.
It does not make any sense.

I was reading an article about male rapist who prey on men itself and it is so hard for the police to get the male rape victims to come forward cos the victims fear society will think they were gay to start with.

Some male rapist who prey on men had history of being in prison where they were raped and sexually assaulted by fellow in mates.

Then when the prison sentence was over these abuse victims become rapist themselves and they are not even gay..they just rape other men as a revenge cos they were raped themselves.

From the Indian case scenario of rape...it is the mindset that plays an important role.

The average Indian male is brought up to think that being male is all about sexual dominance and a female is meant to cater for his desire.

He is only taught to respect his mother and sisters and not other women.

Mostly a man is allowed to misbehave and get away with it.

There is no harm if a male thinks he is the ultimate Alpha Male as long he knows how to spell CONSENT!

i wish you appreciate the Advice given by Mr.Ali to his daughters. The message is powerful. That is the message of my OP.

Sorry to butt in, Mr. PJ,
Please talk with your daughters, daughter-in-laws, wife or any other young girls. Propose this solution, then get their response.
My immediate note to you was for you to take down this message. It is very demeaning to women and girls. Mr. Ali should stick to his profession.

Dear PJ sir,

I still disagree....that advice does not solve the problem of rape.

Rape is not caused by exposure or skin show.

Rape is all about being in control, exerting power, hatred etc.

There are people who even have sex with dead body of females becos in their mind they fear rejection.

Most of such males who have sex with female corpses have had many failed relationships or always wanted to have a relationship with a female and never got a chance or they simply fear rejection.

So they choose a dead body which can never reject them cos the female is dead to start with.

Mr Ali is only being a Muslim...He obviously does not understand human psychology.

To nip rape in the bud we need to go right back to the upbringing of a child.

Its a long long journey back to childhood and back to the future.

our daughter is also a doctor working in UK; She has only posted this Ali's message in FB.

As you said, probably decent Dress is different for different people. But however, scanty and revealing dress is always invites sinful eyes.

My point is "probably one of the reason, repeat one of the reason for rape is revealing dress by women"

Dear PJ sir,

Many years ago somewhere in the 90's there was a case here where a Malay Muslim young 20 something girl who was raped.

She was the last passenger in the bus and the bus driver raped, sodomized and killed her.

The girl was dressed up fully covered and wearing a head scarf.

The bus driver used her head scarf to strangle her to death.

Most rape victims were never even dressed in revealing dresses to start with.

The rapist does not see skin show as an invite...I repeat....The rapist does not see skin show as an invite...all the rapist sees is a FEMALE(be it child, adult or even an old lady).

A rapist mind is like the Pavlov Dog experiment.

In the Pavlov Dog experiment the denervated Dog salivates when it hears the bell ringing for food cos it has conditioned to link the sound of the bell with food.

So that is how a rapist mind works...when he sees a Female...he starts "salivating"...for SEX.

To a rapist..FEMALE= SEX.

What she wears does not really matters cos what he is concerned about is what lies beneath the dress.

Ali a person of Islamic faith may be preaching his daughters about how to dress. Making a connection to this and rape is actually ludicrous.

Rape is an act of aggression that one human being does to another. Rape is not sex but actually violence of highest order that one person can commit on another person.

There is also gay rape - so what is the advice to the boys and men?
In prisons hetrosexual men rape other men and do this for years ...

Let us not dignify the word rape with anything sensual or sexy!

tks Sir

Scanty and revealing dress who ever wears , not necessarily Islamic women, is only inviting trouble for herself.

A decent Dress in US and other Western Countries might be frowned upon in our Indian Villages; Place to place, culture to culture the definition of decent dress varies. However any women exposing herself with meager dress will only be inviting sinful eyes on her.
This is the point i would like to convey.

So Dear Sri P.J. sir,

Is your opinion then that no woman should wear a swimming outfit in a beach or a swimming pool for they stand the chance of asking for 'trouble'?

Regards,
KRS

tks Sir

KRS Sir

You misunderstood me; wearing a revealing dress in a Village, or even in Chennai Roads means inviting trouble.

Dear PJ sir,

I have been a student in India..believe me even some of our professors used to think that as long a girl is an NRI or a foreign citizen....she must be of bad character no matter even if she is dressed in a Salwar Kameez.

Once me and a few female friends had gone to a beach near our college and we were swimming in the sea.

Then a local tour bus stopped there and a few guys got down and started whistling at us(we were not dressed in swimsuits but in bermuda 3/4 pants and T shirts).

Then they started to call us names and asked us to join them to have fun.

So we knew this was danger and at the right time the local fisherman saw these guys and came towards us and got autos for us to go back.

We thanked the fishermen who kept watch for us till we got into the auto.

I still remember one of my friend wanted to give the fishermen some money for helping us(we did tell her..not to give money cos the guy might feel offended..but she wanted to give him as a token of appreciation)... and he said that "I kept watch for you who are my sisters...a brother does not take money from his sisters"

So when it comes to respecting women..education does not count...the simple fisherman saw girls dressed in 3/4 pants and T shirt as his sisters but our own college professors think as long a person is an NRI or Foreign citizen..she is of no good character.

In US i see young and old wearing a very small short/ and bra running on the roads, this a decent dress here.
Can we imagine a young girl running on a chennai Road wearing a similar type of dress? So a Decent dress concept varies from place to place, culture to culture.

Boys harass girls in crowded buses Trains etc and when they see a scantly dressed girl, the chances of phycical harassment is greater for her in Indian conditions;there is a difference between freedom and liberal and "indecent and vulgar" ... I am referring to the other!
A swimming pool dress is apt for that place not on the roads; on roads it becomes vulgar.

So according to place.and culture a girl should wear a decent dress, this is what I would like convey.
