Pranama to all of you. Having taken birth in Germany it took a while until I discovered the great treasure of Vedic and especially Vaisnava culture. But by the mercy of the Vaisnavas I developed a taste for serving Bhagavan, especially in his form of Sita-Rama. I hope that soon I will be able to come to South India in order to see all the holy places where Ramacandra performed his lilas.
Some yeras ago I started to translate the complete Valmiki Ramayana into German. By Ramas grace the Bala-kanda will be published next year.
Jaya Hanuman!

Welcome to Tamil Brahmins Forum. Wonderful to hear about your efforts to spread the lilas of Lord Rama. Please share your knowledge and experience with us in your posts.

Regards,
Brahmanyan,

Dear Ananth, Yes; you are right. actually I have fascination for Poona( I normally not call Poona as PUNE ) because, I lived in Kirkee for 10 years , from 1956 to 1966, worked in A.F. K. Year back, I visited Poona & showed my Son/ grand Children the areas we started life after marriage, in Kirkee. We stayed in Rasthapet, with my family friend of 45 years.
Lot of things have changed tremendously, still I enjoyed going round with friend Mr. D. Iyengar , whose parents lived for decades there.
Please tell about your life in Poona , Job etc.
Lovingly,
A.Srinivasan
I was working in , CDA SC Poona, Depodi/Deccan Gymkhana, Koregaon, Pune University Campus before joining ARDE Pashan and was residing in Night School Rashta Pet. I used to participate in all activities in the Pillaiar Temple in Rasthapet. Nice interacting with you.

hi div,

welcome to the forum. which version of valmiki ramayana are you translating? not that it matters, but your ethnic origin (ie indian or otherwise) would, i think, satisfy our curiosity (as we do not have many non tambrams here) and also steer our replies, to more suit, what we feel, would be appropriate.

if you don't mind..thank you.

I believe there is only one version of valmiki ramayanam though there may be different publications with additions/ deletion of some slokas, depending on the publisher. Local, regional and tribal versions of ramayana are not called valmiki ramayana. I do not understand the implication of this query. Another ploy to bring ramanujan's 300 ramayanas into discussion?
