My name is R.Ganesh (or Ganesh Ramakrishnan) and am 44 years and settled now in the UK (Manchester). We are Palghat Iyers and our village is Ramanathapuram in Palghat District. My wife Deepa is a Bharatanatyam exponent and both my daughters are also very proficient in this.

I have a great interest in spirituality and in mergence with the Ultimate. I have an open mind, and am constantly enquiring about what is custom and tradition and what is core practice which has spiritual benefit to the practitioner.

I am happy to be part of this forum, but being very busy with work, not sure how often I can participate.

This forum and other such platforms are serving to re-establish the identity of Tamil Brahmins and make them proud and secure in their way of life.

Best regards
Ganesh

I am very happy to know your desire and ambition to learn. I heard one Mr Vasu Vadhyar from Adambakkam
or so was coaching it. I do not know whether he doing it now. I suggest you visit the following sites and
download it.
Prapatti Online - Hindu Sri Vaishnava Community - Stotras and Slokas, Photo Gallery, Audio Voice MP3
sanskrit.gde.to

You will get every thing with proper chanting methods with Veda dhvani, which is most important.
In Giri Traders books are available. You can buy it and follow it after downloading them. Simiarly, Sri Satya Sai
Books & Publications Trust is also having its own site (ssbpt.org/sri-rudram/instructions-to user.htm) where you
can down load entire thing in one go and chant along with that for a few days. Then you will be able to under
stand the swaram and dhvani correctly. (Where to raise to the voice and normalise). Even Bhasyam Books are
available, which you will get the meaning for all the stanzas which you chant.

There is one more site - Vedam Songs, Vedam Albus - Play Free online site.
It is chanted by Shri Y Ramakrishna Sharma and others. It is a very useful site.

You can try all the above. I have still more suggestions. I don't want load everything
at a time. Wish you all the best.

Namaste!
Aum Ganesha

Currently my name is Roman (although I aim to take Namkarana in Feb. during Sivaratri). I am a 33 year old American. I have studied Sanata Dharma for about 15 or so years now after randomly finding a copy of the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita in a box in the attic as a young teenager. I am committed to the Saiva Siddhanta philosophy and train through the graces of a local Sivacharya in proper Vedic pronunciation and methods of worship both Vedic and Aagamic in nature. I am currently pursuing the study of the Tamil language along with pursuing a Masters degree here in the states. My aim is to take Namkarana and then Upanayanam formalize my studies with the Yagnopaveetam and begin a new family lineage of pundits trained by decedents of the Adi Saiva itself thus perpetuating the faith into the states. I am very happy to have found this forum!

Welcome Sri.Boston Sankara! I understand you can read Tamil . May be you may study sanskrit also to dive into the nectar of divine bliss .Lots of scriptures are available.I can mail you a copy of an interesting book written by a Saivite scholar in 1937,quoting tamil scriptures and upanishads, bringing the exclusive glory of Lord shiva, if you are interested.[ I am in Atlanta for about 3 more months].
I can mail you the same if i know yr e mail.
your interest and ardent devotion makes me to suggest that you may take to initiation into Shiva mantra 6 months after your initiation as per plan.
Grace Of Lalitha Parameswari is guiding you !

Sivayanamaha! Thank you for the warm welcome. I am very interested in the book and thank you for your suggestions. I am able to read devanagri and know a few hundred Sanskrit words which I have learned in studying Sri Rudram and forcing myself to sing and chant from a copy of Mantra Pushpam instead of English transliterations. My email address is tri_roman (at) yahoo (dot) com
If you send me an email I would be happy to email you my postage address. Interesting that you are in Atlanta! I was raised in Tennessee not far from there :)

Aum Aim Hreem Shreem Sri Lalitha Tripurasundari Padukam Poojayami Namaha!

"Poojayami Namaha" is a very ridiculous usage. It should be either—

Aum Aim Hreem Shreem Sri Lalitha Tripurasundaryai Namaha!

Aum Aim Hreem Shreem Sri Lalitha TripurasundaryaaH Padukam Poojayami!

Now "paadukam poojayaami" means "I worship the slippers of"; except in tantric religion, such self-debasement is unknown afaik.

Thank you for the correction Sri Sarmaji. I see now that the the noun (in this case Sri Lalitha Tripurasundari) must be put into the dative case to indicate to what/whom the namaha is being directed. Thank you again for taking the time to correct and teach.
