"Poojayami Namaha" is a very ridiculous usage. It should be either—

Aum Aim Hreem Shreem Sri Lalitha Tripurasundaryai Namaha!

Aum Aim Hreem Shreem Sri Lalitha TripurasundaryaaH Padukam Poojayami!

Now "paadukam poojayaami" means "I worship the slippers of"; except in tantric religion, such self-debasement is unknown afaik.

sarma,

there are ways to express an opinion.

the term 'ridiculous usage' is very insulting and rude. maybe you did not mean it. if that be so, please take my word for it.

if you did mean it, i would like to tell you, that it is the grossest way to welcome a newcomer, and it reflects poorly on our manners as hosts and current members. please do not do such again.

and also sarma, it makes me cringe that, from what it appears to me, you seem to assume yourself to be an authority on hinduism, and mouth what seems to me an obscenely ignorant comments .. for in reality..someone who has depth of knowledge, would never comment on boston's statement, considering that boston is a white man interested in accepting our culture, and the right thing should be, to welcome him to our heritage.

hope this is clear to you.

thank you.

Dear Kunjuppu Sir:

I agree with your incisive response.

"Poojayaami Namaha"sri Paadukaam

Let me inform that lot of traditionsl texts like Srividya texts dictate in Prakaranams [ like Sri Mahaganapathi Prakaranam,Sri vidya Mahaarnava:Aavarana Pooja,Lakshmikulaarnavam [ Navaavarana Poojaa etc ] like the following :

Beejams.............................. "Harini Roopini Sarvavashankari Mudrashakthi Sri Paadukam Poojayaami Namaha"

Beejams.............................. "Girija Girijapathi sripaadukaam Poojayaami namah"

More examples are available".Upaasakaas are aware of this.

what Boston shankar has written is perhaps on the above lines he has been exposed to/read on some texts. .

In my opinion this is based on the dictations of the texts/scriptures.

Regards;

Prakaasaananda

Namaste Prakasanandaji!
Sivayanamaha! Thank you for the warm welcome. I am very interested in the book and thank you for your suggestions. I am able to read devanagri and know a few hundred Sanskrit words which I have learned in studying Sri Rudram and forcing myself to sing and chant from a copy of Mantra Pushpam instead of English transliterations. My email address is tri_roman (at) yahoo (dot) com
If you send me an email I would be happy to email you my postage address. Interesting that you are in Atlanta! I was raised in Tennessee not far from there :)

Aum Aim Hreem Shreem Sri Lalitha Tripurasundari Padukam Poojayami Namaha!

Dear Sri Shankar:
Welcome to the forum.
Since you express an interest in Saiva Siddhanta philosophy, here is a website that might be of interest to you (if you have not already visited the site) : http://himalayanacademy.com/ssc/
They run an institution in Hawaii to uphold the spiritual heritage of the Saivite Hindu traditions from Southern India. In fact they have built a huge Saivite temple in Hawaii.
My aim is to take Namkarana and then Upanayanam formalize my studies with the Yagnopaveetam and begin a new family lineage of pundits trained by decedents of the Adi Saiva…….
Would any of the senior members recommend that he approach Arya Samaaj for his objective?

Hi
I am Uma Gururajan, living in Singapore for the past 20 years. I came across this website yesterday when I was searching for the meaning of Sasakthi Navakam. I am happy to find meaning of lot of slokas and mantras in this website.

Thanks and regards.

It is actually Sasakthi Shiva Navakam. It has been translated by Mr PR Ramchandar, one of the jewels in
his collation of Slokas & Stotras (in fact I had contacted him once thro Vedanta Spritual Library, wherein
we can see his dedicated and devoted work). If I am correct, he is stationed at Bangalore and quited
aged and even at this age, he takes keen interest for the welfare and well being of our community.
This Kavacham, if one reads, it will not only bring peace of mind but also courage and strength to us.
Through this forum, I want to submit my humble Pranams to him for all his works. I got introduced to him
only thro Jaya Mathurashtakam, my Kula Deivam Shri Mathura Kali Amman at Srivachur near Trichy.

Wish you all the best and contribute your best for the promotion of this forum with all your good
thoughts and ideas that can be shared with.

Namaskaram to one and all!

This is Shiva from Chennai. I am currently a final year student of Computer Science at IIT Madras. I enjoy listening to carnatic songs, instrumental music, light classical, playing the mrdangam, knowing about different cultures and languages, esp. brahmins and playing sports such as table tennis, badminton, swimming and cycling.

I searched in Google for a good guide to "Yajur Sandhyavandhanam" as I wanted to know the precise mantras and pronunciations and stumbled across this site.

I hope this forum provides a good platform for interaction and learning.

Regards to one and all
