Hello all. I am Subramanaian Raju and hail from Namagiripettai in Rasipuram Tk. Now settled in Coimbatore and I am 62 years. Working in Private Co and my wife is retired Govt Teacher.

I am interested in our culture but of late even Sastrigals are doing all rituals for money and there is no involvement except very few old Veda Pandits.

I wanted to download and save slokas and mantras. Will any body inform me how to download and save.

You can buy a book sold by Giri Trading which is self explanatory otherwise
there is a website on Sandhyavandanam. You browse that and you will get

I am Anand and native of Tiruvannamalai. Did my schooling and higher education in many states like MP, Guj, AP, TN. Basically a chennai vasi. Currently living in Mumbai and working for an IT Company. I am married and have two lovely daughters. I am attahced to religious matters expecially brahminical tranditions from a very young age as my maternal Grandmother was part of the Suvasini Bitchai group of Kanchi Paramacharya and closely associated with Kanchi Mutt for a very long time and I used to accompany her on many occassions for various pujais and homams.

I have been visiting this forum for a very long time as guest and have read many threads on various topics which I find very interesting and enriching. Hence decided to join the forum and enrich my knowledge about our culture / tranditions through active participation.

Guidance needed

Dear all,

Why searching for some ifnormation in Google I have come across this site and immediately joined. Hope this will be of greate help to know our community well and understand the religion.

We are planning to visit Kashi, Gaya and Allahabad during first week of April 2011. Our first embarkation is Varnasi and return journey from Allahabad.

It will be of great help to us if we are guided as to the rituals to be performed (as per North Arcot Iyers- system) in these places. If any reference is given who can help us to perform these places will be of immense help to us.

Dear All

I just joined this forum and have done a quick run of the messages / replies posted. It is obvious to me that there are so many people who have worked hard and contributed so much to keeping this forum vibrant. Now that I am on board, my salutations and warm wishes to all. I kind of regret joining in late.

There are so many knowledgeable people, maestros and stalwarts already there that there is little that I can contribute, on the ritual / philosophical / spiritual / fronts in this forum.

I am sure there have been [and still are] numerous philanthropists, donors and sponsors who have done a tremendous job already. However, considering that as a community we are the "politically ostracized", due to various Governmental Policies and leanings of Regional Political Parties, a section of our community lives in abject poverty under absolutely pathetic conditions.

There is so much potential for wealth generation from within the community, that when brought under the auspices of the Association, there will be enough and more to cater to the health, education and other needs
of the have-nots. Given an opportunity, I shall be most glad to share my thoughts.
