:biggrin1: Hello Friends,

Greetings and good wishes to you all. I have been going through a couple of our brahmin websites, blogs and forums and am surprised to find that there seems to be a lot of confusion regarding basic issues. Just thought that I would join here and start to see if I can help with what I know.

Kindest regards,
Kaps. :biggrin1:

L. Ramakrishnan

I have been living in Pune for the last 27 years and a brahmin by birth not by deeds....I don't do Sandhyavandhanam, Tharpanam, Srardham, Pujai etc., I don't wear a sacred thread (please don't mistake me - that is what I am, and I don't have any strong views on to have or not to have any of these rituals/symbols); but being born in a Brahmin Iyer family (by God's Grace, I profusely THANK HIM for that; I strongly believe that HE guides us all through our life) I inherited certain values (dharma) in life that are dear to me. These values have so far guided me to live a clean, empathetic, simple and contented life, and at the same time to excel in whatever I do. So I am PROUD to be a Tamil Brahmin. I believe that there is a genetic web connecting almost all the Tamil Brahmins.

I came to know of this site when I was searching for the charges for Mahalaya Tharpanam...my brother indicated that it costs about Rs. 1500 in Chennai. Out of curiosity I googled and came to this site. I should thank my brother for indirectly introducing this site to me.

I am keen to know, and share with my Tamil Brahmin brothers and sisters, their views, concerns, issues, achievements etc., through this site. I am sure I will learn a lot; it is HIS will.

who am i

Hello,

I am retired brahmin of brahacharanam sub sectaged 67+, widower. My wife left me 15 years before. I have only two daughters one in kerala and another in canada. I am doing annual ththis to my ancestors and doing santhyavanthanam regularly. I am reasiding in Kochi and now i cam to my younger daughter in canada on tour. She has arranged the tour. I have got a habbit of praying my ancestors regularly before going to bed facing south. This is a powerful thing and if every one adapt they will be without worries and free from problems. Though we are capable of reading in between letters, our society is not popular and strong, because of the jelousy among us and there is no helping tendency. Because of jelousy Dhriyodhana had his end. There are lot of brahmin families settled in foreign countries with sound financial support.if they all decide, we will show something in the world. There is an ancient temple near musiri called Kungmamba samedha subtharishwara temple at Thiruthalaiyur. It was worshipped by suptha rishis and ravana. The temple is damaged condition and families belonging to the temple is trying to renovate, but fund is not sufficient. Please accept my kind request to ask the members to donate at least 50/- per head and help.
Please bear with me for the trouble i give.
Long live yagnopavitham
