I am Ramachandran H (chandru, displayed as quilon66) born in Quilon(Kollam, Kerala in 1966), settled in Trivandrum for last 26 years. I finished my Diploma in Electronics , was working with SOLIDAIRE Televisions in Trivandrum till 1993 (9 years with them) On retrechment started my own service Now doing Exclusive service for Panasonic Products in TRIVANDRUM, Quilon & Pathanamthitta. Had been in JV with Zee Television for SITI CABLE in Trivandrum, Have A TAXI by name CELCABS In Trivandrum and my firm knowns as DIVINE is into Optical fiber Networking doing Major Survelliance projects for Kerala Police , Jail department etc.

Cable operators & CHannel people across most of the metro knows me in persons. I happened to know about this site and then actively involved with due consent from Shri.RVR.

BY birth I love to be a Kerala brahmins, by nativity I love to be a Tamil brahmin over all since our community is across the global, I wish to be part of the global Brahmin community.

I wish this TB community & forum should rename and operate across the globe without any language barrier.

God has given me wealth which I feel is more than I expected, hence I felt that I should contribute & work for the community without looking into the results and setbacks.

Chandru is very modest in his postings.

Before our Coimbatore NS event, he came in contact with us and he volunteered for coimbatore event. He along with few of his friends came all the way from Trivandrum to Coimbatore. We first met him only at Coimbatore and he &his friends did wonderful voluntary service during the event.

On the sidelines of Coimbatore event, we discussed about conducting the program at TVM. He continuously followed our discussions and fixed the date on 11th JUly, 2010. He has done wonderful job in Trichy event publicity also through cable channels.

He is planning TVM event meticulously and the same is getting reflected at the execution level also. Like Sri Sabesan and his team at Bangalore, Chandru & his team are a wonderful addition to our NS event. Online registrations have already crossed 200 plus with substantial participation of girls. I am sure we may cross 300 and touch even 400 registrations for the event.

Our community in Kerala is highly charitable minded and are supporting him with donations liberally. We have already exempted registration fee for girls and we have also made arrangements to provide `Annadhanam' to the participants. All these things are possible just because one committed gentleman `CHANDRU'.

He along with our community members have travelled to Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Tuticorin districts of Tamilandu and have made excellent publicity for our event. Personally I am getting lot of phone calls from these areas to conduct a program at Tirunelveli.

I am sure TVM event will make a new opening for boys to overcome the shortage of girls prevailing now.

We want more and more `Chandrus' for our forum

Myself, U.V. Jagannathan, 63 years old. Born at Chennai, (MADRAS), on 12.1.1947. Retired Central Government servant. At the time of retirement I was in Mumbai. Date of retirement: 31.1.2007. I have settled at Dombivli (suburbs of Mumbai). I have got two daughters, both of them married and settled. My elder brothers are at Chennai. One sister is also at Chennai. Another sister is at Goregaon, (Mumbai).
 
Our connections with Cochin has been cemented throrugh hundreds of years of stay by four generations. Kerala Brahmins in addition to celebrating Tamil festivals, also rejoice in mingling with the Kerala culture, Kerala tradition end relish Kerala festivals. Onam, is on 23rd August 2010, and the week long festvities and celebrations leading to Thiru Onam will commence on 22nd. There are only 2 stars among the 27 stars that has 'Thiru' as adjective. One is Thiru Onam and another is 'Thiru'vathira. Both of these stars are considered to be auspicious, and Keralites celebrate these two star days with festivites. Our puranas, epics, Vedas, Upanishads, the quintessence of knowledge has been like a slow flow of a mellowed river. So great.
 
Self introduction

I am a self styled and self educated {in vedic scripts and usage} brahmin practising Aapastambha poorva & apara prayogas. I am very proud to have been given this Bramhana janma and would like each and every one of our community have the same pride as I. I would also suggest affluent people in our community come forward wholeheartedly to do the necessary help ( why not a lot of ) for the uplift and welfare of the less previleged.

Introduction

Halo Brahmins, I too am a Brahmin, born, brought up and educated in Kodungallur, Kerala. My father was a Headmaster of the local Gov. school. I am B.A. Graduate of the Madras universitry. Joined the Associated cement companies ltd factory in Madukkarai, Coimbatore and I have worked in 7 of their factories for a duration 25 years as the departmental head in the process department. I worked in a cement factory in Libya for 4 years and returned to take care of my aged parents. I joined the Aditya Birla group Rajaashree cement in Gulbarga where I kept my parents till they attained SWARGAM. I am a retired person doing consultancy for cement factories and my services have been engaged by 19 factories. My 1st son is in Bangkok working in Insurance firm under the United Nations. His wife and son are with him and the daughter is with me and my wife studying in college in Coimbatore. My 2nd son is in Coimbatore doing business and he is staying with his wife and son. We are all very happy

It seems that two other stars are also given the lofty prefix 'thiru' in some parts of Kerala -- "Thrukketta" and "Thrukkarthika", though, of course, the nakshathrams can also be referred to as just 'ketta' and 'karthika', unlike 'thiruvonam' and 'thiruvathira'. regards, rj.

I am a great lover of ancient places in Bharat. Esp. those given in the MahaTirthaYatram
in the MBh. What are your interests?

You are very much welcome. Even though the site is named after "tamilbrahmins", there are large number of Telugu brahmins here and are doing wonderful service to our community.

Why not we consider renaming the site as "South Indian Brahmins.com" or merely as "Brahmins.com"?
 
I am Narasimhan. Working in Abhudhabi. I got introduction thru website. I searched in google to perform sandyavandhanam procedure. That time i got this introduction through google.

Trip to the holy ganges

Can anyone who had been to KASI-VARANASI guide me in giving details of the contact persons and the cost that they incurred for doing their rituals.
