I thank Subhalkshmi for her reply. But I feel there could be some other reason eventhough most of the tradition that is being continued even today has got some scientific reason.
unfortunately our forefathers have made us to follow it more on fear than explaining the reasons for it.
Had the reasons percolated down the line than all these discussions would not have been there and most of us would have been happy to follow it

Dear Sri Rajasekar,

Dear Sri GB Rajasekar Ji,

With profound respect to the Master, who revolutionized our music and as an admirer of his signature rendition of the raga, Kalyani, and his Sishya Parampara, with Srimathi MLV Ji and Srimathi Sudha Raghunathan Ji, I salute you. An apple never falls far from it's tree.

We are humbled that the likes of you are joining our Forum. Please, if you can, regale us with your memories of your father. Also, please share with us your own life experiences. It is not easy to be a son of such a famous father. I know, we will all benefit from your unique experiences.

Regards,
KRS

Dear Sir,
Welcome. I have read somewhere that Theosophical Society was started by Madam Anne Besant and its HQ is at Adyar, where the famous Banyan Tree is still standing. Apart from that my knowledge about the Society is nil. Can you tell me something about the Society, its origin, its motto/principle etc.,

Thanks

R.Ramaswami

Dear Swaminathan,
I am new member to the group. I am happy to know that you an active participant in Besant Nagar Humour club.
I always believe Humour is the best medicine for one,s ills,
It makes him come out of his shell and become active.
I as a member of one of the humour clubs in chennai few years back was spending my sundays attending the club meetings. but my transfer when I was working with Union bank of India did not permit me to continue.
I would like to become a member in a humour club which is near Valasaravakkam. Can you give me the address and the subscription rates etc but again I may not be able to all the meetings as my present occupation might make me to take classes on sundays. My details can be known through my website bsureshkumar
