Hello to everybody,I am a retired engineer from T.N.E.B. and settled at Perundurai in Erode district of TN. " Natpushpa" is my ID. Born in Udamalpet,Coimbatore district and graduated in CIT at Coimbatore. With regard to my qualification I hold B.E.(E.E.E.).,M.Tech.(C.S.E.).,etc., etc., etc. and still trying to disseminate & pursue knowledge. From my childhood I have been inspired by the writings & teachings of His Holiness Swami Chidbavanandha, His Holiness Swamy Shivanandha Maharaj etc. I am a Patron Member of The Divine Life Society Rishikesh,Himalayas and associated with this Society since 1955.I am also interested in Astrology and a founder member of Indian Institute of Astrological Science of Mr. B.V.Raman, Bangalore. All these credits goes to my Fathers elder brother Late Mr. Subramaniam Of Udamalpet who was a true sanyasin and perfectionist equal to the Ramakrishna Order. Now I am interested in enlarging "Self-Knowledge". I am also a Ham with US HAM radio Call sign KB3ROO and as such interested in communicating with people at large. To conclude I am particularly interested in forums/debates on healthy spiritual knowledge and activities. Wishing You all, Health & Happiness. Natarajan.

hi natpushpa,

welcome to the forum.

boy o boy, i did not think that HAM radio will still be popular in this age of internet, skype, googletalk and what not, where instant communication with the rest of the world is at your fingertips.

truly awesome of you sir :)

do they still make ham equipment or do you have to put one together yourself. i used to have a neighbour, in the early 1970s, who was a ham operator. he put the equipment together himself, from world war 2 british surplus equipment left behind at the time of independence and disposed of by indian army in bulk. :)

who are the types of folks who do ham these days? are there any young people joining the club?

welcome and do start threads on points of interests like HAM.

Hallo Kunjuppu, Where are you? Move from 1970's to2011.Now HAM radio is via internet and also through satellite and so on. It is a thrilling experience in tracking satellites and conversing with astronauts.Daily about six newbees most of them are youngsters register for HAM license in US.May be it is not encouraged in India.Ready to build and assembled Transceivers are readily available even in India. It is the most costlier and popular hobby in schools in US.Please visit the web site of ARRL.Thank u, Natpushpa.

BTW, if Palghat Rama Bhagwathar is your relative, are you too from Palghat ? Unfortunately, I do not have any recordings of Palghat Rama Bhagwathar. But I could try and get something.

Hi all

I m swaminathan, newly joined in this Forms, I m 35, but MSc in IT, but U see i switched many jobs in that case,I need to know ur response for my view in marriage, seeking bride, father retd, mother hw, worked with 3 mnc's, BUT I get shocked when i come to marriage with grls view in salary ! .. if interested reply.

hi swami,

there are umpteen threads here moaning the non availability of tambram girls. for various reasons, which if you peruse the threads, you will pick up the points of discussion, analysis, name calling, putting the blame and above all a summary of the stark reality.

you may have to accept the fact that there are no tambram girls available for you, and then consider the alternatives - either a life of bachelorhood, or looking beyond tambrams. if it be the latter, what is your comfort group - other tamil groups who may be vegetarian or any such preference, brahmins from other states (no guarantee that the girls here are willing to marry a 38 year old tambram either).

i agree that this is quite a jolt for guys and their parents, many of whom expected to repeat their own experience of 30 or 40 years ago, when girls lined up and boys could be the 'kings'.

there is another thread, about namboothri priests of kerala, who faced with the same problem, went to the orphanages and picked brides from there. the advantage, is that there is no in-laws to worry about. the girl, can be expected to 'adjust', though we should remember that she is a human first, and not a chattel.

best wishes to you swami, and may you find a mate soon. i do not believe any more in the old adage, that there is a girl for every guy. but in your case, i hope it comes true. :)

Dear Mr. Swaminathan, We, myself & my wife (she is an astrologer professionally) are fully aware of 1)non-availability of matching number of Girls , perhaps in both Iyengar &Iyers. 2) The girls want Boys to earn more than the Girls. 3) Age difference can be minimum.4) When compatibility is not there , while you talk to them either before marriage or after the marriage, she would not hesitate to opt for Divorce, without realizing the consequences

Hi,

I am a new member of this forum. My interests are participating in religious activities, reading spiritual books and attending religious discourses.

Dear Mr.Swaminathan, Really I appreciate the broad minded views of Mr.Kunjuppu and however I fear how many of us will accept that as a father of a son. There are lot of difficulties in the search of a bride that I agree . There are enormous similar cases in search of a bride and hence search is to be continued reasonably. But it is difficult to predict What the girls expect from a bridegroom. I want to cite an interesting case of a boy known to me. The boy is employed in a software company at a very good salary. He went to see a bride .The bride wanted to question the boy in the pretext of predicting his compatibility to her. The first Q was ‘Do you smoke?’. The boy was very happy that he happened to be a nonsmoker and replied ‘No.’ The next Q was ‘Do you drink?(Alcohol).’The boy felt immensely happy as he has not even tasted drinks and replied ‘No. I don’t have that habit.’ Then she asked ‘Do you go to weekend parties ?.’ Now the boy thought that he has at last spotted the correct bride. Now the third almost similar Q came. The girl asked ‘Do you go to weekend parties?’. Now the boy has confirmed that he will be the fit person for that girl and replied the actual fact that ‘No. I don’t have that habit.’ Immediately the girl responded that he is not the fit person for her. The girl is a software professional suitably employed.(Sorry software engineers and software professionals if I have harmed anybody’s mind, it is an actual fact that has happened.) The boy was immensely annoyed and we all pacified him. On a detailed enquiry it appears that the girl was staying with three of her friends as room mates at the work place. Now all the room mates have got married and all of them used to get together at weekends to spend the holidays. I am not universalizing this but this indicates cultural degradation which has been predicted in ancient spiritual literatures .Why I am narrating this is that the girls predetermine some expectations thinking that they are good expectations and they expect it from the bridegroom. Hence Mr.Swaminathan don’t let lose your heart, there will be a girl definitely born for you and hence continue the search in a healthiest way. Pray the almighty and surrender to God and Spiritual Guru and continue the search of a good life partner and I am sure that you will get the Girl made for you. Cheers.May the Almighty bestow Health & Happiness. With regards, Natpushpa.

Hi Everyone , I am vasanthi a tamil brahmin totally new to this site.... just wandered into this while seaching for a recipe .... am just going to watch other posts and ease my self , when i am comfortable and sure of myself ... good luck to fellow posters :-)

Dear Hgphil , Happy to welcome you to this forum. Sharing knowledge increases knowledge on both sides . Listening to music soothes the Astral Body or subtle body and helps in controlling the Anthakarana. By anthakarana I mean the Chiddha (thought), Mind, Buddhi (intellect or knowledge) and Ahankara (Egoism).Knowingly or unknowingly these qualities in you makes certain inherent capabilities in you and made you to live comfortably in the midst of all the worldly troubles. Any way I am happy to converse with you through this forum and as such , my hearty thanks goes to the forum and its magnificent promoters, founders and organisers. I have experienced enormous tasks in arranging databases and hence I can understand the task involved in the construction and management of this forum..Hats off to one and all who are all the cause of this task. Coming to the point proper ,regarding myself I have a son married and living in USA. I have worked in T.N.E.B. and retired long back. Instead of further professions I have opted to serve the people and practice for the salvation of the soul. Hope to share our experiences not only for our reading pleasure and knowledge as rightly pointed out by Sri Kunjuppu, but also for the betterment of humanity and for the welfare of our future generations. Wishing you Health & Happiness. With regards, Natpushpa

Hi Natpushpa , Thanks for the compliments. Nice words. May your maturity be flowing like a Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi to make a sangamam in this site and make light in all members life. According to Patanjali Yoga, there is no absolute salvation to souls. It is directly proportional to the punya karma and the time the souls spend in Paramadhamam.
