This murder will not leave our memories soon!

Swathi murder: Young engineer Ramkumar arrested, here is what we know about him
Ramkumar had studied in a private engineering college in Tirunelveli and then come to Chennai in search for a job. Unconfirmed reports say he was working in a textile shop in Chennai, but was searching for a better job.
He has been living in a mansion in Choolaimedu in Chennai for the last few months. Mansions are cheap paying guest accommodations. Choolaimedu was the area in which Swathi too was living.
While he was living in Sowrastra Nagar, Swathi’s house was diagonally opposite in Gangai Amman Koil street.
After Chennai police released an enhanced sketch of the suspect, the mansion owner or security guard reportedly identified him and informed the police.
Ramkumar had been missing from his room for a week.
Swathi’s mobile phone had been missing from the day of the murder and was last switched on near Choolaimedu. (Also close to the railway station).
Police tracked the mobile signal and figured out that both the mobile phones (Swathi’s and Ramkumar’s) had been switched on for sometime after the murder.
Police searched his room in Chennai and found some evidence, after which Nellai police were alerted.

what ever it may be good work done by TN police. Now a fast trial should bring justice to Swati. May her soul rest in peace.

hi

the law takes long time ssometimes.....once proved...immediate capital punishment...so others wiil learn lessons too...like in

saudi arabia..stone to death...

Congrats to TN Police for nabbing the culprit alive . Swathi's life cant be brought back but at least some consolation that the culprit was caught alive within a week .

It is said Police is also , on the look out for one another person who, it is said, has slapped Swathy ....that too on the platform of the same Ry. station, some 10 days earlier to the incident.

Raji Madam, Murdering your lover just because you were spurned, the guy seems to be psychotic!
Dear Ganesh,

He sure is a psycho. But such guys take hint from the movies that anyone can fall in love with highly placed, pretty girls, without

having any kind of compatibility. We hear of lot of cases where the girl's face is marred by throwing acid bottles by such crooks!

It appears that no one has safety now a days!

Sri. Rajiv Gandhi's assassins are still live and the minor in Nibhaya's case is not even jailed!

So, unless the punishments are very severe, crimes will be on the increase.

The last five days has been extremely taxing and tiring spending almost 15 hrs everyday with TN Police but when you look at the Cops struggling even harder to solve the murder case, our struggles meant nothing. For the last 5 days I have been with our TN Police assisting them in their investigation. Some of the best Police officers were handpicked for this case and was truly amazed by their dedication and patience in solving the case. Their only focus was to pick on those small clues and the way prepared the witness encouraging them to speak was simply amazing. To many of the Investigating officers they took it as a personal insult and one officer mentioned this to me few days back at around 1'o clock in the night" Sir, in our terms this is a brutal murder and that too of an unarmed girl. We have to nab him at all cost else public will live in fear. It's not a good sign for working women". During the investigation they will ask many witnesses to go have lunch/dinner but I did notice many of these officers just dragged their day by sipping few cups of tea and coffee. At times I will leave their office late into the night and post that they will have their review meeting and by morning the officers will be ready for their next round of investigation. They took utmost care to ensure the identity of people whom they investigated was always protected. While the investigation was going on there were many views in some section of the media which didn't bother the Cops and their focus was to nab the culprit. Yesterday I reached home late and when I saw the breaking news of the suspect being arrested I sent an sms to the officer I was working with if this is confirmed news and my phone beeped in a while and it read " Yes sir". That was a huge sign of relief and after a long time slept very peacefully. Kudos to TN Police ‪#‎TNPOLICE‬

Sir,

Thanks for sharing this. :-)

i dont know if this is true, dear raji.

in scandinavian countries and in canada, there punishments are very mild. the prisons are more like 3* hotels. flush toilets and private TVs and all the books you want and even chance to get a degree. the crime and homicide rate is still high.

two cases for example - a few months ago, a rich playboy, driving a car, while drunk, killed 3 children + their grandfather. all he got is 8 years imprisonment, and he get away in 5 years or less for 'good' behaviour. money talked here too.

planned killing of a man a year ago by two guys for no reason. random thing. they caught the killer and only 15 years prison, and can get out in 10 years. again the victims pay the price as the court system is biased i think in favour of the accused.

in swathi case, the family is destroyed forever.

It is said Police is also , on the look out for one another person who, it is said, has slapped Swathy ....that too on the platform of the same Ry. station, some 10 days earlier to the incident.

Both are one & the same guy---The murderer..The girl is destined to be beaten and then murdered by the spurned lover...The monster should be hanged in public for the most heinous crime

Dear Kunjuppu Sir,

The violent scenes and planned killing are shown in detail, not only in movies but also in the TV serials.

The minds of youngsters are poisoned and they do such heinous crimes so easily! Very scary, indeed!

P.S: This thread is gaining momentum.

..The monster should be hanged in public for the most heinous crime
This will never happen in India, Ganesh!

BTW, did you ever think how the youngsters are mislead by the movie makers? :drama:

'enakkuk kidaikkAdhadhu yArukkum kidaikkak koodAdhu' is what they teach!

The murderer is a Dalit (Pallan?)....In his village too he has misbehaved with a same caste woman...The woman raised an alarm...He was let off with a warning...The guy has not completed his Engg and he had arrears...He went to Chennai...He soon fell in love with Swathi in Choolaimedu ..He has also tried to get in friendship with her through Facebook....The hapless girl became a friend with him & she did not know his real intention...When she spurned his love he slapped him in the Station in public...Soon he planned to eliminate her...This is the story so far

VGanesh Ji,

Just go through this version....

Ground report: Ramkumar was a loner, can't believe he did this, say Tirunelveli villagers

"In the last week, he was very much present in the village. We saw him frequently and he looked quite normal," says one of his neighbours.

For most of the villagers, there is a feeling of utter disbelief that Ramkumar could be involved in such a gruesome crime as they knew him as a “calm, quiet and shy person” who kept to himself.

He goes on to describe him as a loner, someone “who did not have a single friend in the village”. "There are several boys of his age in the village who socialise or play games together. But Ramkumar never joined them. He was always engrossed in his work," Kani says.

Ramkumar's family, like many others in Meenakshipuram, raised goats. According to Kani, Ramkumar particularly liked taking their over-a-dozen goats out for grazing.

"In the last week, he was very much present in the village. We saw him frequently and he looked quite normal. Also, there have been no untoward incidents involving him or his family in the village in the past," he says.

Valarma, who runs a grocery shop in the village, says she has been seeing Ramkumar right from the time he was a child. While she did not know him personally, she says "he never mingled with anyone and always looked down while walking. His parents and sisters were however very good and social. I can't believe he has done something like this."

Bala Sir,

He may be sex starved....He may have been spurned by other women too...That made him take revenge....Swathi became an easy target...

This is a lesson to TB girls as social media usage is so widespread among our community!

i agree with you on this raji dear good lady.

every other tamil movie, is about kidnapping of girls, implicit in it, other caste, and the girl and eventually the girl's parents changing their minds.

sasikumar's last movie vetrivel was around the same topic, and the tragedy that this involved. the boys appear to think of nothing re kidnapping girls and tying a thali, which appears in their minds, a final move towards conquest that cannot be undone. such ridiculous attitudes are believed as truth.

in fact, all sasikumar movies appear to be on the same theme or the superiority of the thevars or gounders.

in few movies, is there shown, a civilized approach between men & women, the development of courtship, and also the eventuality that it can fail. and people involved need to move away civilized and get on with their lives. i can think of only 'vinnai thaandi varuvaaya' as the sole example in the recent past.

in a society where movies and t.v. dramas play so high an influence, it would be good to throw in some correct and realistic values. what do you say?

Dear Kunjuppu Sir,

You are 100% correct but will the movie and TV serial makers ever do this?

No hope! :(

Will they learn ? It appears that many TB girls are very crazy and going wild in having love and affairs with other caste boys.

I appears that girls responding to a stalker, talking with him, laughing to his jokes, attracted by satanic versus etc.

may be a time passing for the girls; but encourages the boys to start live in dream zone by building castles.

All these are the starting points of the evil and inevitable for the girls.

hi

i agreed 100% sir.....especially with muslim boys.....very crazy...they have to pay the price.....in real life..or face the death

like this....AMMANJI TB BOYS NEVER LEARN ......

I am really sorry that some of the members here are out of touch with reality. Blaming the victim for the crime is the worst offence. It is never the fault of the victim, Why is it so difficult to accept it?

No one deserves to be a victim. The criminals are responsible for crime and no one else is to be blamed.

Kids in my neighborhood would drop their bike near the school bus stop, and expect to ride back after school. Of course I live in a low crime area. If they loose their bike one day they might regret it, But it does not happen
The original post was:

.A 24-year-old woman who worked for IT major Infosys was hacked to death on Friday morning at a railway station in Chennai, by a man who had allegedly stalked her for months.

What gives anyone to postulate on the victims character? How will the parents feel if they read the previous few post? I am really ashamed of these posts. I hope some of the learned members will reflect on these thoughts.
