I actually witnessed this happen today!
The wife refused to see the dead body of her husband
who had passed away in his sleep and looked just as if in deep slumber.
No distortions or pain or shock in his face.
The 12 year old boy did not realize the impact of the incident on his life and future.
The wife sat beating her chest and forehead but was unable to cry-since she refused to see her dead husband!
This is what is called ANITHYAM. You get this vairagyam for some minutes
and then you are back to your old ways.
The tamil quote is from Pattinattar. In fact he said even the wife and mother
will say this is a corpse - pinam.
Look, how we are attached to this body and the external comforts which are
ephemeral. Atma-anatma vasthu vivekam is the first step in self-enquiry.
Take anything, the satisfaction that you get is only temperory. Afterwards
it does not, and you look for new things !
