The gentle and lovely Bo Peep.

We can also pitch in and contribute to the snacks and stuff.. Let us not put a lot of burden on one individual.
Dear Praveen,

Everyone brought sweets and snacks and what I prepared as light tiffin+ ice cream turned out as a grand party! :thumb:

Dear Dr Renuka

I am really glad that you received the Kumbh Mela Prasadam mailed to you.

I had the opportunity to hand it in person to Dr Ross, Tmt RR [ one extra for Tmt VR ], Nannilam Sir,
V Bala Sir and the Sheikh when we met at Tmt RR's place on the 15th.

I was just praying that it gets through to you safely.

Dear AM ji,

Today morning I was at work and my mum called me..(I use her house for postal address)..

She said "there is a letter for you from a Mr Anand Manohar"

I said Ok..open it cos it contains some Vibuthi and KumKum from Kumbh Mela.

Here mails containing Vibuthi reach safely..we get Vibuthi all the time from Puttaparthi.

Thanks a lot..I was telling my mum about you.

I said AM ji is one cool cat!

Sir,

Pranams,

I am much obliged to you for the divine and precious prasadam which is a surprise Gift to me. The pleasure derieved is indescribable. I believe in Vedanta which says 'you will get what you deserve'.

With regards:)

Dear Balu Sir,

Actually the divine prasAdham should have reached many of us during one of the Fridays in the month of Adi!

If 'that' had happened, the venue would have been entirely different! :)

Dear RR ji,

I was actually waiting such a long time for the Prasadam and finally it arrives just the next day after my Birthday..so it was the best B'day gift for me.

Dear Renu,

Yes! Nice to get the divine PrasAdham on a special day! A nice gift from A M Sir to us!

My mom and I have tied the 'KAsi kayiRu'. :thumb:

how long does one keep the tied kasi kayiru? a week? a month? till it stinks? till it breaks on its own? any other reason?
Kasi kayiRu should be kept clean by rinsing properly while taking a bath.

Usually it is ON till it wears out / loses its dark black color!

Many temple shops sell black threads and I wear one on my left wrist,
always. :)

The new idea! The knots in Kasi kayiRu tend to slip off. So fix it with the help of a drop of 'feviquick'.

yes. i always liked the concept of kasi kayaru. talking of which, i have a whole bundle still from my kasi visit in 2000!!! :)

Dear T B S Sir,

I have requested you earlier to call me 'idea thilakam' and not 'idea amma kannu'! :)
BTW, the black thread sold in Thirumala might be named 'VEnkatagiri kayiRu' and it is not 'kAsi kayiRu'! :decision:

I found this video interesting... more so because I have not visited Kasi.

Kaal Bhairav Temple, Kashi (Varanasi)

Some info from the footnotes of this video.

"The city of Kashi is famous for the shrine of Kaal Bhairav, the kotwal of Kashi or the policeman of Varanasi.

His presence evokes fear, no different from some of our policemen. He has a thick moustache, rides a dog,

wraps himself in tiger skin, wears a garland of skulls, has a sword in one hand and in another hand holds the

severed head of a criminal. People go to his shrine to do jhaad — sweeping of hex.

Hex means the disruption of one's aura through witchcraft (jadoo-tona) and malefic gaze (drishti or nazar).

Black threads and iron bracelets are sold in shops around the temple, offering Kaal Bhairav's protection to

the devotee."

Dear RR ji,

How could you do this yaar?

In another thread someone was saying that oily and wet hair attracts signals from other planets to boost fertility in females..and here you are using Fevicol on a Kasi kayiRu?

Won't Fevicol block the signals and transmission from other Lokas?

Think about it please!LOL
