மார்கழித் திங்கள் மதிநிறைந்த நன்னாளால்

நீராடப் போதுவீர் போதுமினோ, நேரிழையீர்!

சீர்மல்கு மாய்ப்பாடிச் செல்வச் சிறுமீர்காள்!

கூர்வேற் கொடுந்தொழிலன் நந்தகோபன் குமரன்

ஏரார்ந்த கண்ணி யசோதை யிளஞ்சிங்கம்

கார்மேனிச் செங்கண் கதிர்மதியம்போல் முகத்தான்

நாராயணனே நமக்கே பறை தருவான்

பாரோர் புகழப் படிந்தேலோ ரெம்பாவாய்.


As auspicious day in the Margazhi month;

Oh, thou girls who get rides to the bath!

Oh fabulous Ayarpadi girls!

The son of Nandhagopan, with spears and atrocity,

The cub son of Yasodha with her having beautiful eyes,

The sky- colored Lord He the Sun to foe and the Moon to devotees,

Narayanan gives tambourine;

Come and take holy bath to admire the world.

Meanings

Earlier the Ayarpaadi girls have taken fasting for rain. Because of this prayer the rain poured. These adherents also motive to attained Lord Kannan and give their service to him. They have succeeded this also. Andal decided to triumph Lord Kannan like in the way of penance as the Ayarpaadi girls. Thiruppaavai recital that Andal presumed Srivilliputhur as Ayarpadi imagines her as Ayarpadi girls and stick to that penance. To announce about the fasting to all they decided to approach Kannan for wanting a tambourine. While, thinking about the penance the month of Margazhi the crescent moon and also the auspicious day are available. We celebrated the month Margazhi because Lord Kannan has said that he is in the month. So we renowned this and invite all the girls of Ayarpadi to avail this best opportunities. The Lord Narayanan has growing here as the son of Nandhagopar and Yasodha. He colored as beautiful sky-blue and his eyes are lotus. He is the Moon to his devotees and the Sun to his foes. He only gives the tambourine to fasting. So she (Andal) invites all to Margalzhi holy bath where before to start the fasting and acquires all the World people celebrities.

Know the art of living with pleasure. Mortals of this planet!
Listen, what we have heeded the methods to our fasting.
Have to praise the Lord Maha Vishnu's divine feet who is in slow sleep in the Milky Ocean.
Take the bathe in the early morning, offered dharma and alms without pride.
Don’t take ghee and milk. Don’t beautify the eyes with black grease.
Don’t flower the curls. Don’t do the evil deeds where has avoided by our elders.
Don’t slur about the others to the Lord Kannan.

Praise the holy name of the Lord Purushothman, who has monstrous side of Him measured the planets with His magnificent steps.
Thou girls while in the holy dip praise the Lord with the Hymn as in a part of the fasting.
Existence value of these no harm to the World has received three rains in the month.
Because of this rain the cyprinids fishes sprung in to the paddy fields and the dotted beetles have to sleep in Daffodil flowers.
Bounty of milk has given by the large cows where unbounded liberality like an indestructible wealth when pull the cows' dug.
For, these the vessels have filled with plenty of milk when oh thou girls of Ayarpaadi praise the Lord Maya Vishnu.

ஆழி மழைக்கண்ணா ! ஒன்றும் நீ கைகரவேல் ;

ஊழி முதல்வன் உருவம்போல் மெய்கறுத்துப்
பாழியந் தோளுடைப் பற்பநா பன்கையில்
ஆழிபோல் மின்னி, வலம்புரிபோல் நின்றதிர்ந்து,
தாழாதே சார்ங்கம் உதைத்த சரமழைபோல்,
வாழ உலகினில் பெய்திடாய், நாங்களும்

Oh the angel likes majestic Ocean who is proper to the rain! Don’t be hold anything.
Thou enter the Ocean scoop the water and ascend to the sky with clamour.
Seem as the Lord who is having hefty shoulders and having the shining
Chakra in His hands and as black as an impanation of the
Lord who is the first in an authority to the ages of timings.
Seem thundered like the conch.
Looking like the rain arrow, were released from His
Sarngam bow to the sake of prosperity for the World and for the fasting’s.
So you poured in quick to the holy dip for our pleasure.

Praise the foot of the Lord Mayan decorate with the flowers with an undefiled mind. Praise His virtue and withhold Him in the mind who has hard to the perceive, the marvelous qualities and doing an amazing things and the King of Northern Madura, the savior, living an ethereal banks of Yamuna, an incarnation in the Yadavas’ community as bonfire, made luminous of His mother’s ovary and gained the fame to her. If we do this our sins vanished like the dust destroyed in the fire. So praise the sacred name of him without an interval and come to the fasting’s.

On the serpent alighted in ocean had set sleeping;
Kept this seed in mind, monks and yogis
Arise gently and Hari they mumble;
This chant pierces the mind as a rumble;
Awakens and enthuses like a roar to assemble

Our Lord Kanan sucked the poison from devil’s breast , having holy foot, were kicked deftly the Sagadasooran treacherous cart, to a shatter were sent to kill Him. On the serpent alighted in ocean had set sleeping. He is the axis of the world. The yogis and monks arise gently and reciting as Hari-Hari and this chant sooths our mind. Won’t you? Oh damsel, awake and come as in earlier to praise the Lord.

The gurgling noise of curd in churn dash,
Of, thee (Ayichiyar) women with tresses fragrant and coin necklace,
The holy strings clinked with the hands.
Can't thou hear? Oh the veteran girls!
Are thou pretended as sleep while,
We sing the fame of the Narayan?
Oh, glorious girl! Awake and open the door.

The intrinsic meaning of the hymn:

This hymn recitals the fame of the Narayan. In this the name Narayan considers the fame while the name Moorthy recitals His glory.

This song sung by Ayichiyar, for awaken the girl who is pretending that she has forgotten all the devotional services, eventually, where she has contemplation in the divine services. Though the Ayaichiars assembled in front of her palace for awaken. She has tried to recognize them. Because of this the girls got frustrated and questioned her with angry. Can’t you hear the sound of the sparrows? Oh crazy girl! Watching with un-responsibility from her they again asked that is she doesn’t hear the skimming sound of the butter milk? Is our song is like the lullaby to you? Here, at first the Aichiyars called in dally as brimstone and later on they invited her to open the door to preside over the mass.This hymn recitals the fame of the Narayan. In this the name Narayan considers the fame while the name Moorthy recitals His glory.

He tore the mouth of giant Casey,

And the Kamsan’s wrestlers killed cruelly.

If we have to pray the Lord of Lords,

And He has to redress and give the grace.

Arise, listen and consider our damsel.

Like the beauty of the statue of happiness with, a woman as property! The Eastern side sky is pale. These buffalos are scattered in the meadows grazing. Almost all women have reach. They immediately rush to go take a bath. Let them stop for you, call you a verbal. When Casey came in the form of a giant horse, tore out of its mouth, the killer, including Kamsan’s wrestlers. If we pray the Lord of all He gives we grace.

குற்றமில்லாத இரத்தினங்கள் இழைக்கப்பெற்ற மாளிகையில் சுற்றிலும் விளக்குகள் எறியவும் அகில் முதலியவற்றின் புகை மனம் கமழவும் , தூங்குவதற்குரிய மென்மையான படுக்கையில் தூங்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் மாமன் மகளே! மணிகளால் ஆகிய கதவின் தாழ்ப்பாளைத் திறப்பாய்...மாமி! உம்முடைய மகள் தான் உமையோ?அன்றி செவிடோ?அன்றி சோர்ந்து கிடக்கிறாளோ? எழுந்திருக்கமுடியாதபடி பெருந்தூக்கத்தில் காவலிடப்பட்டாலோ? அன்றி எதோ ஒரு பெருந்துயில் மந்திரத்தினால் கட்டுப்பட்டுக் கிடக்கிறாளோ? பெரிய மாயச்செயல்களையுடையவனே! திருமகள் நாயகனே!ஸ்ரீ வைகுண்டனாதானே !என்று இவ்விதமாக பல தடவையும் பல திருநாமங்களையும் நாங்கள்சொல்வதால், இனியாவதுஅந்தப்பெண்ணை எழுப்பமாட்டீரா?

Meaning:

The mother ask her daughter why you asleep un- responding when the girls calling. At that time the girls, who are standing outside the palace, ask her mother to arouse her. Even the girls praised the sacred names of the Lord as Madhava, Vishnu and Vaikundha she doesn’t. The girls have frustrated with her and ask is she dumb, deaf or dull? Moreover they ask, is any sentry to asleep? Is any person made illusory arguments to asleep? While the girls were trying with these words to arouse her, her mother requested to retry to praise the name of the Lord to awake. But, the girls replied that they have pronounced various sacred names of the Lord.

Connotation: Palace mentioned an impeccable body of the Lord Madhava and the wicks mentioned the shiny of the knowledge over on the impanation. The word algum fragrance means that the spiritual knowledge has been afloat everywhere. Here, the line nap on the foam bed means as a stage of withhold of Him. Cousin the uncle’s daughter means an epithet of the Vaishnavas who were adopted by Him as His blended family. The door should be unlatched means that you have eradicated the clutches of the body and the earthly ardors which is hinders to mingled with you.

The southern districts of Tamilnadu as Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Sivagangai and Ramnadu have irrigated by the Mullai Periyaaru Dam.This dam not only feed for the agricultural activities but also solve the drinking water problems.


The dam was designed by Colonel John Pennycuick. He, born in England at 1841 Jan 15. He obtained the engineering degree in England at Royal Engineering College.

At that time, the British government decided to construct a dam for the irrigation of Madurai and Ramnad districts. Because, the government invited Colonel John Pennycuick from England and asked the project work. He inspected the Mullai and Periyar rivers and submitted his report. The proposed total construction cost is 75 lakhs at that time. He obtained permission from the government.

பொருள்: அஞ்ச வேண்டியவற்றுக்கு அஞ்ச வேண்டும். தன்னால் இயன்ற உதவிகளை மிஞ்சாது செய்ய வேண்டும். கோடி பொருள் கிடைப்பதாக இருந்தாலும் உள்ளம் அறிய நடுவுநிலை பிறழாது இருக்க வேண்டும். நண்பர்கள் நம்பிக்கொடுத்த பொருளைப் பற்றி ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்காமல் இருக்க வேண்டும்.

Meaning

We must afraid to do the things those having evil deeds. One must do the help without any dues. Even though rewarded million dollars do not bend in the justice. Do not appraise the friends’ commodities where have entrusted with hope.

This is understood that the total power consumption in Tmilnadu is 10000 MW. But, inefficiency of Jaya Government the power generating falls as 7500 MW. We have purchased 1000 MW in other states. However, we have (Jaya Government) met an additional shortage of 2000 MW. Here, supposed to be Kudankulam reactors will have to generate only 2000 MW as assured in its first phase.In this the central government guaranteed to give only 900 MW to Tamilnadu as its share. This is puzzle to get the further shortage of 1500 MW.

Here, I have to remain that Ms. Jaya promised to the people during the election campaign that she would lift the two hours power cut within four months, if she elected.

But she could not resolve problems instead of that people are suffered 10 hours power cut.

With sufficiently they concealed all the problems and used the cheapest political tactics as blamed the anti-supporters of Koodankulam.

Here I want to raise a question to the people who have wrongly chosen the Jaya government that how the DMK government could manage all the power shortage problems with imposing only two hours power shut down?

For, the past fifteen years, I have served in this cine industries. During my services, I have interviewed by various magazines and dailies. But at that time the journalists asked only about my cinema carriers. This is the only weekly to asking me to write an article about my family life in the name of my life. Because of this I am writing this article with pleasure.

The article is going like this...

Yes, the trio sisters Mrs.Padmini Ramachandran giving an introduction, in that magazine like this, at the year 1961.

Her family is an artist’s family. Her sister Lalitha achieved the maximum glory in this field and settled in the peaceful family life. Here Padmini also rendered her services to this field and settled in the family life. Following with her, Raghini also entered the family life. They belong from Thiruvananthapuram in the Kerala state. They are the traditionally famed and their family is the respectable one. They are brought up with care by their parents Mr. Thangappan Pillai and Mrs. Saraswathi ammal. Because of the Royal traditional they famed highly.

Eventually, her family fame put hindrance to her passions where she has crazy on fine arts. The Royal family not permitted them to dance and put so many hindrances to learn arts. They, the Royal family think that all these arts brings solecism to them. So, they opposed to join in the court dancer Gopinath’s Niruthya Kalasalai School.

However, Padmini and Lalitha joined the school with the help of grandma Mrs.P.K.Pillai. Padmini is 6 years old and Lalitha is 2 years elder than Padmini at that time. With, an interest they have joined in the art school but they have to face many problems in their carriers. They have compelled to awaken in the early morning and attend the dance and music class. In, the morning hour’s school and in the evening, they have to attend Veena class. Apart from these tight scheduled they have rehearsal before the grandma at night. This is the routine life to them. They can learn only Kathakali in Gopinath’s art school. But, they are crazy on the Bharatha nattiam. There are no such facilities, to teach the Bharatham, in Gopinath's School. Because of this, they have invited Mr. Mahalingam Pillai, from Thiruvidaimaruthur to teach them the art, in a proper way.

Mr. Udaiyashankhar came forward to help the sisters like an anthropomorphous giving a chance to the sisters in his movie Kalpana.This scarce opportunity held in their uncle’s residence, who, served in the naval force at Mumbai. Mr. Udaiyashankhar the popular artist parenthetically met the sisters in her uncle’s residence at Mumbai. While, at the meeting the sisters where asked to perform a dance before him. After, the event the great artist blessed the sisters. In further he gave a chance in his movie. After, this movie Kalpana they got more and more chances. Here after, Padmini’s cine life gets in peak. She gained the maximum success and acted more than 250 films.

Their family runs in Chennai with an elegant manner. At that time, her mother started Lalitha's marriage dialogue. But she asked her mother to postponed one year, at the meantime, she has completed all films, where she had agreed. In 1957, Lalitha got married and quit films to settle down, in Trivandrum. Lalitha, very often said, though she achieved glory in public life, the family life is the most important for the girls.

Padmini, also forced to marry by her mother. When, she has forced she agreed immediately. Madhavan Nayar who is a bank manager, where he settled the marriage to Lalitha took in charge to seek the alliance for Padmini.

Whenever, Padmini have compelled for marriage, by her mother, she didn’t refuse her mother’s desires. Eventually, she asked to postpone for one year. By, the time she completed all the movies where she agreed in earlier. On 9 th Nov, at Alzhapulzhai, in Lalitha’s residence, the marriage fixed with a simple ceremony, in the presence of Kerala’s respectable personality, Mr. Manath Padmanabhan.
Thus, the ceremony is going on at Alzhapulzhai, the danseuse is in the Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s court function.The marriage date fixed as 27th April 1961, but the film works are not completed though the marriage has five months’ time. Because of this problem, the marriage date postponed on 25th May 1961. However, the filming works not completed as in scheduled, this continue, still on the date 25th.

She would also participate in Ramayana dance-drama. Without interval, she engaged filming works, in the day time and in dance-drama at the night hours. The drama Ragini-Raman staged on 22nd this is the last one to her. She acted in Seetha character, in this drama. The make-up is perfectly suitable to her. After, the completion of the drama, Raghini said to her, with tears; Ok! The drama Raman is over in your life. The real Ramachandran too entered in your life.

Her, flight departure on 24th and landed in Kochi. She picked the car at the same date to Guruvayoor. Nine Spinsters hold nine lamps with their hands and greets Padmini. They carried her to him. Like that, they convey him to her. Her brother Chandran washed his legs with sanctified water. As their conventional he gave mundu to her. Then they exchanged rings. Exactly at 8.15 he knotted the holly string to her. Here after they went to Thalacherry. Their Padmini seated on the turmeric cloth. In the bridegroom's house, Padmini used to sit on the yellow coloured cloth. From the moment she is also a member in Dr.Ramachandran's family.

Tholkapiam

Here, this has a well-known fact that the Tholkapiam have written in various periods by the various authors. Because of this reason, the author name imposed as its book’s name.

This is not only a grammar book but also a common book to logic, anthropology and philosophy. This is an old one. This book speaks that the Tamil books to be made out only from virtue, wealth and pleasure.


There who came on the latter stage, unfortunately, misunderstand the book’s features and spelled wrongly, that these are the four features of the Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharvana vedas. The book Tholkapiam made by the various authors and we could not trace out the age. In other words, this is a book which written in poetic form, in the time immemorial.

From the line, we can understand that the prose formats also in customary, in those days.


Proud to say, that the Dravidian culture would have its own scripts, language and grammar and this would even before in practice the invading of Ariyas. Whenever imposing the scripts to the Vedic’s such as Rig, Yajur, Sama, Adarvanas they have borrowed the words from the Tamil. The experts Mr. Emano and Baro said in the book Dravida Verchol Agarathi that Tamil word valzhu turned as vasu in the Devanagari. This would be mentioned in the lines (ஈஉஈ.4336)

The letter (Meyezhuthu) cannot stand in front of the Tamil scripts, like these ‘vasu’. This would be enough to prove that the Tamil language is an old one than the Vedics.

On the 8th of March, when the womenfolk all over the world were enjoying their day in different forms, in Tamilnadu, there was something charismatic in the air...

We could not trace out the more difference for the social factors between men and women in the pre historical periods.

But, the women’s status where forced to put ironically as in the secondary form whenever the human being changed their life pattern from nomadic life to permanent.

Even though, she is considerable, very important to the family set-up, she has isolation, in her bodily and reproduction capacities. This would always put them in depending on the men supporting. Interestingly admitted that the men only could swim in the counter-current of the world affairs and also have his earning volume. We have enormous evidences that the male birth only welcome to the people even beginning of the Sangam period.

தருதலென்றலைக்கடனே

சான்றோனாக்குதறந்தைக்குக்கடனே

In the above said Sangam couplet shows the mentality of the people, whereas they have entrusted five works to the male instead of female. Without any least doubt, those people of Sangam have chronologically admitted the female to be only for the generative. At the same time, five duties where allotted to the males, such as positioned his son in the courtesy, designing war weapons to the black smith, molding as a good citizen to the King and here after the youths’ duty is succeed in the battle field with his swaying sword.

Where the Sangam copulates not only admitted the duties of the both sex, the saint poet Thiruvalluvar reads in the universal anagoge that, what avails the guard of a prison? The chief guard of a woman is her chastity.

Translation:


Of what avail is watch and ward?

Honour’s woman’s safest guard.
The women have feared that they are not used in the war time they are always feared that they have jailed by the opponent Kings. This situation kept the women as in the secondary to the men. Because of the unfitness in the war to the women has to think to the men to put them in the safest place in the war periods. The following one Sangam couplet clearly shows who the people to protect in the war time.

ஆவுமானியற்பார்ப்பனமாக்களும்

பெண்டிரும்பிணியிடையீரும்பேணித்
தென்புலவாழ்நர்க்கருங்கடனிறுக்கும்
பொன்போற்புதல்வர்ப்பெறாதீரும்

Introduction:


The backward tribes, Kallas, who were the very first settlers, in Tamilnadu the successors of the Chola Kings have participated in the rulings and also served in their militaries. In due course of time Tamilnadu have witnessed the regimes like Muslim Sultans, Vijaya Nagara rulings, Bhamini Sultans, Maratiya rules, Nayakas and then English. Because of these frequent changes of the rulers, they have compelled to give up their jobs like political and military administrations. They served as long term in the militaries because they do not get the other than militaries. So they have forced to do some unlawful activities.


The Tamil kingdoms couldn’t oppose the English because they are very strong in their intellectual subtlety and modern ammunitions; this would lead them to dissolve their military.


Is any inclination to them to choose the unlawful deeds?


No, because of the military dissolution, the men who were in the service have lost their jobs and also get frustrated. The soldiers who owned lands could engage the agricultural works others intrude to select the unlawful activities such as robbery and theft.



Criminal Tribes Act (VI of 1924)


The Britsh Goverment introduced the criminal tribes act (VIof1924) This act affected the innocent kallas community. The entire cast suffered lot as inexpressible words. According to this law there are 89 casts like kallas, maravas, piramalai kallaas, valaiyar, kepmari, agamudaiyars are come under the purview of the law.

(Criminal Tribes Act 1871)


At then, the British constituted this act; this has framed by James F. Stephen.


We
have seen the gist of this act:


‘’Tribes whose ancestors were criminals from time immemorial, like weaving, carpentry, we speak of professional criminals. Destined the caste to commit crime and offend law.
The whole tribe should be exterminated, like Thugs’’.

The version clearly shows the British governments view for curtail the whole tribes without taking any precautions of the social welfare of these tribes. However, the Government takes, steps to uplift these people, but it could be done only after terminating 3000 life. With the success, the Government extending these rigorous acts to the Southern parts with amendments.


This act, known as Criminal Tribes Act (VI of 1924). “குற்றப் பரம்பரையினர் சட்டம்


Under this act, (CTA as amended in 1911) the power, enhanced to the District Collector, to declare, what he decided the casts as the criminal tribes. According to the act 1871, whenever a cast to be declared under the purview of this act, the local authorities would assure the sustenance of the people as earlier.
In spite of this act 1911, the above said clause has been omitted.

Sub-clausesof the act 1911

i This act adjudicating powers to Magistrates and The Dist. Collectors and also the subordinate officers. This sub- clause enhanced powers to the authorities that which the casts would be included in this act.


ii A proclaimed men or the women were the criminals, as under the act, would be enrolled in the police registers, and they would be the closely watched persons, by the police officers.


iii This act forbidden the men,
women or in individual or the whole casts to move the judicial to challenging the local authorities orders for included them in the list of criminals.


iv The people who marked as the criminals in the police registers not entitled to enjoying the civil rights as the common man.


v If a person refused to assigned as criminal or neglected or in control, it might be a punishable offence.


After, the declaration of the District Collector, to whom the members of the Kallar community in the criminal publication list might get registration in the concern police station, with his, her two thumb impression.
This practice might challenge the self-respect of the innocent Kallar communities. They get aversion on these rigid rules this triggered torch in Perungamanallur revolution.


This realized in India that the various branches derived from the main cast, having their own customs, practice. For instance, in Tamilnadu there are so many casts and sub-casts prevailed. However, the cast Kallar titled as in common, in spite of this, they have identified in various sub sects. The sub-sect Piramalaikallar deviated from the main cast and also having the separate conventions.


Even now a day, in their marriages the bride-groom has decorated with jasmine- veiled and taking the horse riding procession. They are also having the practice of sunath like Muslims.


One who is reading this line easily understood that there are various sub sects in the kallars.


Those, who having the lands and tax payers are respectable persons in the society. But it is not common to all. However, the people who upheld the theft and robbery for their live hood wouldn’t get the respect as the former. This is an important thing to know that the British government had mistaken of overlooking their officer’s advice. In this matter, the government independently takes decisions without any consideration or discriminations include all the people in the criminal list. This would add fuel in the Perungamanallur revolt.


Anyone familiar with the history of modern India is likely to be aware of April 13, 1919; of General Dyer and of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call the Perungamanallur killings, which took place on April 3, 1920, as the south Indian Jallianwala.


The black pillar with a burning torch on top in Perungamanallur tells the heartrending story of villagers who fought for their rights against an Act.
