Rules for deportation tightened
The documents represent a sweeping rewrite of the nation’s immigration enforcement priorities.
Any immigrant living in the United States ILLEGALLY who has been charged or convicted of any crime and even those SUSPECTED of a crime will now be deported. That could include people arrested for shop lifting or minor traffic offences too. There is no guarantee that those who are settled legally will not be treated with suspicion. Hard times are ahead.

The pity today is what was pure and organic for centuries have to be reinvented and given a glorified name 'organic' with a higher price tag. Fruits and vegetables are organic by whichever name you call them. Milk is essentially organic even if it is adulterated with water, the only inorganic substance which we consume in large quantities and without which we cannot survive. But today to increase production and to enhance the keeping qualities of these products and their shelf life, chemicals are added making these products unhealthy and unsafe. Cows and buffaloes are made to feed on mixed fodder and also given injections to increase their yield which make the milk from them unhealthy and risky. So a movement has grown all over the country to preserve the quality of these products safe for consumption by using natural fertilisers and avoiding pesticides, insecticides and other chemicals. So any move by anyone to ensure the safety of our food products and make them free from polluting chemicals is welcome. Hence this move by this IT chap is most welcome and has come at an appropriate time to save our children who become the worst victims because of the milk that we get from different sources today.

Race shows its ugly teeth in America, Unless strong measures are taken, People of foreign origin are not safe, Mr Trump should take steps to curb this racial violence with iron hand before it takes more casualties. Congrats to Ian Grillot who came to the rescue of the two Indians attacked in spite of the danger involved to his person. Sorry to know that Venkatesa Kuchibhotla became a victim of this dastardly attack. May his soul rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved members of the family. The entire America except the rabid racists stand behind them. We all wish and hope that US legal authorities will bring the case to justice.

WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY AND DIVINE SHIVARATHRI
Describing the significance of Adiyogi, Vasudev said: "It is essential that the coming generations on this planet are seekers, not believers. As philosophies, ideology, belief systems that don't stand the test of logic and the scientific verification will naturally collapse in coming decades, you will see the longing for liberation will rise. When that longing rises, Adiyogi and the science of Yoga will become very important."
"Adiyogi is not one more monument but a galvanizing force to transform the world from a mass of believers to seekers of truth"

Witches are planning to cast a spell on Donald Trump to get him impeached

DECCAN CHRONICLE

We are serious. People who actually practise the occult are planning to do a ‘group hex’ on Donald Trump to get him kicked out of the White House.

Reportedly a mass ritual to defeat Trump and all of his supporters is going to be performed on Friday, February 24th, 2017. The word is being spread using social media and there’s also a Facebook page dedicated to the event.
WILL TRUMP GET BEWITCHED? CAN WE EXPECT HIM TO COME OUT OF THE SPELL IN WHICH HE IS CAUGHT<WHICH HE HAS CAST TO HIMSELF

The menace of kite flying
Manja used in kite flying has been a killer by slitting the throats of the unwary in the roadside. In addition to killing people it is now found that it kills trees also as explained by botanists.
The abandoned, torn kite strings act as an excellent primary supporting platform for the tender climbers, giving easy passage to reach the top of the trees. Lateral branches from the top of the climber and other accessory branches from the ground reaches the top taking support of the first climber, completely covers the treetop, thus inhibiting the penetration of sunlight,”

Ban on public smoking may reduce health risks: study
PTI
Already there is a ban on public smoking in many parts of the country. But its effective implementation is far from satisfactory. We find even policemen who are supposed to take action against the offender are smoking right under the board "no smoking". Any individual can object to someone smoking in public places at his own personal risk only. In fact the smoker feels that he is doing a favour free of cost for the one standing by his side by puffing off the smoke at his face. Many educated people still do not realise the harmful effects of smoking and it is astounding to see that some of the college girls and high browed ones take smoking as a symbol of empowerment of women. And still they call themselves educated. Once when I advised one of my acquaintances to give up smoking, he advised me that I am unfit to advise him because I have never enjoyed smoking. He also asserted that if I start smoking, I can never stop smoking and he even went to the extent of saying that I will promote smoking as a desirable way enjoying life. He gave a lecture for more than half an hour on the benefits and pleasures of smoking and he pitied me that I am losing a great pleasure in life because of my perversion against smoking. He also went to the extent of saying that fate and not smoking is responsible for cancer and to substantiate his argument gave a list of names of some great men like Ramana Maharishi who never smoked, but died of cancer. When I told him that I developed head ache on listening to his lecture, he said that the best remedy in such situations is to smoke. By listening to him for more than half an hour, I realised I have become a passive smoker with all the evils associated with it. Yes. For the next one week, I couldn't even breathe properly. My advice is "Avoid Smoking and also Avoid ( advising) Smokers" when they are smoking.

Protests for water growing in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu is an arid region as we all know. Every other year, we seem to be facing serious water shortage in many parts of Tamil Nadu, Chennai being no exception. We seem to be oscillating between the two extremes of either floods or drought. Only in 2015 Dec, Chennai went under deluge and nobody would have forgotten that. This year it is said that there is extreme scarcity of water.

Already there is a cold war between Tamil Nadu and its neighbouring States. It is predicted that the entire world is going to perish not because of nuclear war, but because of water war. Our fight with our neighbours is a small battle and we know a war is made up of several battles.

Engineering colleges

A few days back I was watching a (weekly) talk show Neeya?Naanaa? (நீயா? நானா?) in Vijay TV on the plight of engineering graduates in the state. On one side engineering degree holders who were mostly disgruntled or unemployed were there and on the side engineering college teachers and some students supporting them were there, each team presenting its point of view on engineering education in the State and the condition of engineering graduates, their calibre and employment opportunities. The present plight of engineers was discussed in detail. The main contention was whether the colleges produce engineering graduates or engineers. There is a general complaint that the engineers were at a loss to understand things in the field and the education they had didn't help them. What all the engineers had to learn in the field cannot be imparted even in the best of institutions. The knowledge acquired in the college gives them a sound background for the subject but the complaint is that they are not field worthy or industrial worthy as soon as they complete their engineering degree course. There is a provision in the curriculum to provide practical training to budding engineering graduates in the field or in industries. I want to write a little more in detail about the engineering scenario from my experience as a practising engineer and as an engineering teacher and the status of engineering in Tamil Nadu and for that matter all over the country.

Environment and Development
It is believed that environmental engineering ( my specialised field) is an oxymoron. Any engineering means development and any development means environmental degradation. So there cannot be development without degradation or pollution. Is this correct? Most developmental projects do affect environment and today side by side the very same technology which has made possible developments and progress does provide methods and means of combating adverse effects of growth and pollution. If the overall benefit of a project outweighs the loss as defined by EIA ( Environmental Impact assessment) and EA ( environmental audit) then that project is considered beneficial for the society and approved. There will be some affected in the process who have to be duly compensated. When we lay a road or a railway track, some people get affected and if we have to shelve our projects because of the protest of a few, we will never have roads or railways. The same thing is true with every industrial project. If we want to maintain our environment in its pristine purity, we have to go back to stone age. Are we willing? We want progress, but we have to pay for it and today there are ways and means of making progress without much damage to the environment. Using this environmental Plank, many people are incited wrongly by vested interests and politicians to oppose any move towards progress. Even in the case of Hydrocarbon Issue in Neduvasal, the issue is politicised and emotionalised and I find that many of those who created trouble on the last days of Jallikattu are the people who provoke the locals, their main aim being to use the occasion to raise their voice AGAINST THE CRNTRE. The points raised by the opponents are more emotional and less engineering and the difficulties and losses that accrue are over exaggerated. The Centre will do well to constitute a committee of unbiased scientists and engineers from all over India who have specialised in this particular field with some of the knowledgeable locals and convince those against the project before proceeding further. This is likely to further delay the project and cost more. That is a price which we must be prepared to pay.

I do not want to make this a long class room lecture and I would like to conclude saying the following:

Progress without plunder

With the present day technology, this must be possible. Prejudiced mind is the greatest pollutant.

BAN ON COKE, PEPSI
Ban call on Coke, Pepsi by Tamil Nadu traders body come into effect from today.
This is a decision taken by the traders. From my point of view, I welcome this decision. Only when government implements, the question of freedom to eat and drink will arise, but definitely not now. I am not against banning these drinks of MNCs or banning of KFCs, McDonalds , Pizza outlets and so on. There is a growing trend among our younger generations that any damn silly stupid thing from the West is always the best. This mind set should change. There is no harm in patronising these things, but that should not be done at the cost of our own products which have become part and parcel of our life and culture. If you like Pizza, no problem. You enjoy it as much as you enjoy Dosa or Samosa. Some of our products are as good if not better than those of the MNCs for which millions and millions are spent towards ads. We are not that wealthy to invest in ads. With the cost of those ads, we can run our State government or even Centre. Today many of our products such as Dosas, vadas and Bajjis are hitting the international markets and the tender coconut water and masala milk are going universal ( or viral). Let us encourage our local products to travel all over the globe.

Engineering colleges (continued)

In my days, there were only four government Engineering Colleges in the then composite Madras presidency comprising the present Tamil Nadu, Andhra, part of Karnataka and Odisha minus the princely states. In the present Tamil Nadu area, there were only five engineering colleges, 3 private and 2 Government. Today there are 525 colleges in all in Tamil Nadu alone. Thus there has been a phenomenal growth of Engineering colleges and supporting polytechnics. With the construction of massive dams, industrialisation and the Hydro electric, mechanical and power projects introduced by Nehru, our need for technicians and technologists have grown multifold. The first Engineering college to be established in our country was the one at Roorke followed by the college of Engineering, Guindy which now constitutes the principal seat of Anna University. The purpose of these engineering colleges was not to enrich our land and people but to serve the British interests which incidentally and inadvertently served the needs of the people. In our days, professional college admissions were governed by what was then referred to as "Communal G.O", a rule of reservation based on the ratio of the population to the whole, a rule implemented during the justice party regime, the predecessor of the Dravidian parties of today. The BE selection was very tough and there were very few seats available for forward caste students even on those days. The first branch of engineering introduced was civil engineering, since for any development that was the basic requirement. In the initial days, since most of the graduates were in great demand in the field, it was difficult to procure teachers for the profession. The great opportunity for engineers in the beginning was in the field of civil engineering. In my college days the popular branches of engineering were civil, mechanical and electrical. Later telecommunication was added, but there were not many takers. The total output of engineering graduates was around 1500 only. There was a severe dearth of teaching staff since most of the graduates were not willing to teach. Even if some freshers come as members of teaching faculty, it was just a stop gap arrangement and won't stick on to teaching. So field engineers with no teaching experience or talent were deputed as lecturers and professors to the colleges. Not many engineering books by Indian authors were available then. The limited number of available books by foreign authors were too costly. But students going on strike. For any reason was unknown then. Ragging of new comers was practised religiously with all seriousness which every new candidate had to undergo as an anointment ceremony and there was no question of anyone escaping it.

By 2050, India will have most muslims in world, said the Pew Research Center : news
The main intent of Islam is to make the entire world Islamic and to achieve this they are trying all known and unknown methods. Coercion, conversion and breeding besides elimination of other religious groups from the face of the earth IS THEIR SOLE AIM. So they may adopt any method to increase their population. The report says that their population rate growth is the highest in the world.
There is no need for a big research. It is bound to happen. Our congress and other pseudo secularists are very happy to know this fact , because they believe that this will swell their vote bank . To get their ranks swollen, they may even go to the extent of inviting and encouraging muslims, particularly the terrorists on the assurance that India will be a safer home for them than Pakistan. But one thing these zanies forget is that it will be the time to demand another Pakistan with the support of all our intellectual idiots, the leftists and other rat brained politicians and some of the enlightened group of brain drained students of JNU, UoH and DU (who make it a matter of pride to honour terrorists like Afzal Guru, Memon etc.)

How then do you expect Chaandra Sekara Rao to build his palatial house, and gift costly jewels etc to temple? Should he not be allowed generate funds for all this. He is a great fund raiser. Let us not doubt him or his tntentions

20 tons of red sanders seized in Kanchipuram and three arrested. News
Some time back when similar arrests were made by Andhra Pradesh, some parties in TN raised a hue and cry over having arrested Tamilians which was considered a disgrace to Tamils. Today the people arrested are also Tamils. Will those stout heads oppose this on the same grounds? Many people who are arrested and kept behind bars in TN are Tamils. The Tamil sentiment is generally carried too far in our land to the detriment of progress of the State in every field. If we have to progress we should shed this Tamil Chauvinism. Tamil pride is different from Tamil bigotry and chauvinism.
