All over the world, jobs in the information technology (IT) sector are under threat due to increasing automation and new digital technologies. But these challenges become bigger for India as Indian IT companies find it hard to re-train staff.

Recently, industry body Nasscom said there was a need to re-train up to 1.5 million workers, nearly half of its sectoral workforce.

Roles in IT companies that were typically assigned to employees with over 10 years of experience — the middle-level bracket — are now going to machines.

A large number of them cannot be trained. Probably, India will witness the largest unemployment in the middle level to senior level."

As a result, even as IT companies fight to retain their top talent, they have not been very forthcoming in handing out pay hikes to mid-level employees.

Though Indian IT companies are spending millions to re-train their workforce, human resource experts say the mid-level group, which has the most to lose, is also the most resistant to change.

The following is a comment made by A MUSLIM GIRL who is also a student of the college to which Gurmehar Khar belongs. It is gratifying to note that we in India have such muslims who care more for our country than the so called leftists, commies and Intellectual idiots who exploit the muslims for their own political gains.

I am a student from DU and I would like to express my heartfelt grief over the sad course of events which have happened to sully an apolitical element of the college like me. I am a girl like Gurmehar too and an Indian Muslim and I would like to ask her some basic questions : What was so compelling she found to have voiced her anguish in a manner that was so derogatory to our motherland? What was the underlying agenda of Gurmehar, that she chose this particular time to air her ''''concerns'''' , if at all she found the environment of DU so ''''bad'''' , what was she doing before this ? It is matter of pride that she belongs to a family of a Martyr, who died in the line of his duty. But it is of equal importance to remember that her father gave the ultimate sacrifice for the love of his nation, unlike Gurmehar''''s dubious stunt to go viral and create a media buzz over nothing . Freedom of speech has been innately gifted to every citizen of this country, Gurmehar, if you do not know this. There is no need to create a ruckus using social media to appear as if you are gagged by the state. You have sadly not behaved in the spirit of a Martyr''''s daughter, but in that of a girl seeking to make a political statement using a plank of her father''''s name. This is a time to instrospect , Gurmehar. Ours is still a beautiful , open and accessible country, unlike many other''''s around our region and globe, if you would like to turn your head and see. Jai Hind !!!!

Men holed up in manhole: choke to death
Bengaluru: 3 labourers enter manhole without protectio, choke to death: News
This is the 'n'th time it is happening, not only in Bengaluru but in Ella uruleyum. ( எல்லா ஊரிலேயும் இதே கதை தான்). There are specific instructions in the Government of India manual (on waste water treatment and disposal, in the updation and revision of the which I was involved as an expert committee member, constituted by the government of India, Ministry of urban planning and Public Health). They have been given specific instructions to use protective devices and the precautions to be taken by the workers and sight engineers. But these instructions seem to be followed in their breach. Action should be initiated against the concerned engineers or supervisors in charge.

Let this not be just 'the one day' that we celebrate
Let us remember to honour women EVERYDAY of not only THIS YEAR, BUT EVERY YEAR

The pathetic plight of those who live amidst the funeral pyres of the dead. It is highly regrettable that these people still live in the long and distant past, denied all education and neglected by ALL POLITICIANS. The burning ghats in Varanasi and else where should be modernised and these Doms who are said to be the descendants of Kalu Dom Raja who was the owner of Satyawadi Raja Harischandra, after Harischandra sacrificed everything at the behest of Viswamitra for keeping up his promise.
They still seem to be living in those days with no one bothering to improve their living conditions. Modi is talking about improving conditions in Varanasi. He has to do something to uplift these people and bring them to modernity.

SOUTH AFRICAN SAFARI

KRUGER PARK is a Game park famous for the 'BIG FIVE ', THE LION, THE ELEPHANT, THE HIPPO, THE LEOPARD and THE BUFFALO and extends over 200,000 hectares (274 miles long with a maximum width of 34 miles) and lies on the northern part of SOUTH AFRICA touching the boundaries of Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia. The weather was very friendly during the period of our stay there. We went on a day-safari in our van on two full days and undertook a night-safari in an open van on another day. Each day's visit had its own thrills to offer. Incidentally, the term 'SAVARI' that we use in our country seems to have been derived from this African word 'SAFARI ' . During these safaris, we came across easily more than a thousand deers of various types (antelopes, Kudus, wild beasts, impalas etc), herds of elephants numbering over a hundred, giraffes and zebras in large numbers, all crossing our roads casually at various points (even though there were no zebra-crossings anywhere!), rhinos running in panic on seeing our vehicle, the wild hogs and buffaloes wandering around in abundance and lions, about twenty five in number roaring in all their majesty, all in their natural habitat. On our night-safari, we had the thrill of watching a lion crossing our open van within a few feet very casually to the other side and from there posing to us for about five minutes before it disappeared from our view, probably thinking 'you fellows , thank you for visiting me' or 'I would come and visit you in your natural habitat one day'.

Again we had the sight of a pride of lions (including lionesses and their cubs) numbering over twenty sitting close to the road on one side of a lake with a herd of deers numbering over a hundred standing in a line on the next side, barely hundred meters away, drinking water unmindful of the presence of their predators so close to them. We were thrilled at the sight and with a great excitement and horror watched the scene awaiting the inevitable, but to our surprise, the one lion that was the closest to us as well as to the deer herd threw a contemptuous glance at us, and an uncared for look on its prey and quietly withdrew itself to join its main group a few yards behind, thus causing a great disappointment and at the same time relief to us. This was a once-in -a-life-time experience for us and we were told that not all the tourists get a chance like this. True.Such a scene can be seen only in Discovery Channel.

Another high light of our visit was our trip on a hot air balloon (which is very special to South Africa and is a symbol of African adventure). We were taken up in a floating balloon to a height of about fifty to sixty meters for over seventy five minutes covering a considerable stretch of the forest area nearby and getting a very good bird's eye view of the forest and its inmates. The real thrill (more than what we have seen there) was my wife Seetha's getting into the basket with the help of Vasu and a few others and withstanding the entire flight operation successfully. And to our surprise, we were all issued certificates of appreciation for having courageously(!) undertaken the trip.

Again our visit to 'Cradle of Humankind' is another interesting feature where the origin of earth is simulated and you are made to experience the same presented in a Disney(land) style. We are taken back in time to those days millions of years ago. Africa is supposed to be the origin of human race and hence the name 'cradle of mankind'.

In fact South Africa is a treasure house of tourist spots. We never had any occasion to hear much about it except for its apartheid policy which had kept it isolated till 1999. In fact, it is far ahead of us in tourism related matters and is attracting international tourists on a large scale. In fact, the highways there are comparable to any in the West and the way in which the tourist spots are maintained and the facilities created give us the impression that we are in America.

Our visit to South Africa was a great, rich and varied experience. In short, we went, we saw, we conquered and returned.

(unfortunately the few snaps which I took in my mobile was lost along with my mobile when I returned to my homeland!)

It is true that Dalits are kept in the lowest rung of our society and denied basic human rights enjoy by other Indians. The government is doing everything in its command to uplift them and are given certain special concessions over others. but there are some Dalits who misuse this provision which is unfortunate. Dalit or no dalit, no Indian is above law. Law should be allowed to take its own course.

Peacocks being killed in India for Ayurvedic, Unani medicine. WWF Peacock is one of the best gifts of nature which is the very embodiment of beauty. As it dances with its plumes spread, it is a sight to see that is awesome and incomparable. It is regrettable that its plumes are plucked and sold in the markets for their colour and beauty. In Hinduism, it is given a special place of honour as the vehicle of Lord Muruga, who is deified as a Tamil God. Its species is on the decline because of poaching and hunting for its delicacy as a royal dish. I am not sure for which purpose peacocks are killed by Ayurvedic and Unani practitioners, but I know that they are killed for consumption as a special treat. Even though there is a ban in killing peacocks, the rule is observed in its breach and with more of population and industrialisation, they are losing their natural habitats and hence easily fall a prey to people who are after them for making money. A peacock is a dancing rainbow which needs protection.

Hindus protest
For the past few days CNN has been airing highly offending, denigrating and mischievous informations about Hinduism. Hindu Gods being insulted time and again is happening quite repeatedly. Printing the image of Hindu Gods in shoe soles, undergarments and the like have so far happened an umpteen number of times. Every time after condemnations and protests they are withdrawn only to reappear in a different form somewhere else. There is a tendency on the part of certain Christian organisations to insult Hindus and their belief to satisfy their own silly ego. Since Hindus are largely divided among themselves, it facilitates these beastly elements to show their ugly teeth time and again.
In a statement, AHAD demanded "an on-air apology from CNN and Aslan for offending a billion strong Hindu community. It also asked CNN not to further air the alleged offending episode and a promise to consult practising Hindu scholars nominated before programmes relating to the Hindus are aired.

It has become the usual practice of our media to present every news to discredit Modi government and create a religious cleavage with intentions. Muslim vote bank is a matter to feel proud about as indicative of secularism and Hindu vote bank is a deadly Hindutva affair to be condemned. This is our silly brand of secularism. Today the victory of BJP in UP is seen by media in this context. I am reproducing a letter from an Israelite in this regard.

Ramat Gan, Israel - 11 hours ago
As an Israeli, I wonder why the media throws "religion" into the Indian political equation all the time. Why does it matter how many Muslim MLAs are there? Shouldn't it matter more how many MLAs are actually going to work hard for the people who elected them, instead of worrying about what religion they belong to? If India does not move beyond religion, progress and development will be hard to come. I especially see Muslims in India who need to be uplifted the most from backwardness and radical Islam. Do Muslims even realize their forefathers were Hindus? Muslims should learn from the religion of Hinduism, which preaches tolerance and love for all. Even a Jew like me has love for Hinduism. STOP radical Islam in India.

Christians silent invasion. When the whole world and particularly India is caught up in the ISIS melee, in India and particularly in Tamil Nadu, a silent mass conversion of Hindus to Christianity is going on. Remote villages that escape the eye of the public and the media become the target of the missionaries. During my visit to certain small villages in and around my district in TN, I could see several posters and boards calling for conversion to Christianity to get the blessings of the Lord and ensuing their prosperity once converted. I saw this in several villages which had a staunch Hindu background with famous temples in ruin out of negligence. The political conditions in Tamil Nadu being favourable, with the Dravidian parties towing a friendly line with other than Hindus, conversion is going on unhindered. This problem needs to be addressed by the people, since the political parties here will only be a happy witness to these conversions.

I appreciate the Kannada writer for his boldness in denigrating Hindu Gods. He is a free lance writer who has the freedom to criticise and write whatever he feels is right. But what surprises me is that we have a host of such people in India who are highly rational who have the guts to write ONLY ABOUT HINDU GODS and not say a word against the other religions. If you carefully analyse, there are many such Hindus and other religionists bearing Hindu names who come out often with offensive remarks against Hinduism and Hinduism only and THEY ARE FUNDED BY CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES IN MOST CASES. Even some communist leftists are also used for this purpose. Many of the communists in Tamil Nadu hide themselves under a Hindu name and make it a point to criticise Hinduism and to this group belongs certain Intellectuals who are paid up agencies of the West. If someone treats all the religions alike and criticise them with equal fervour, I will welcome them. If you oppose these crooked elements, you will be called rightist, Hindutva agent, fundamentalist and what not. By criticising Hinduism, these fellows want to be branded FORWARD. These gutless fools deserve to be pushed in the gutter. But I as one believing in nonviolence and decency feel that we must allow such people to speak and not throw shoes or stones at them or disfigure them by smearing ink or throwing dung in their faces. Only by allowing such people to speak, we will know how active the missionaries and clerics are there to sabotage the country and how sleepy the majority community is. These missionaries are more daring today than during the British regime.

Does racism against Africans prevail in Bangalore?

African students travel thousands of kilometers for their education here and have our dreams about their future. But according to one African Student

"we are often attacked and abused just because of the way we look. Only a handful of people do this, but they bring a bad name to the entire city. There are numerous incidents of African students being cheated by educational institutes in Bengaluru. Many colleges dupe them by charging them a hefty fee and offering unauthorised courses. Students often realise this only at the fag end of their study. We hope these issues will be resolved in days to come. days all these issues will be resolved".

Are we not to be blamed for these? Before we critise and find fault with others, it is better that we mend ourselves. There is a tendency in the entire country which is kind to fair skins and very unkind and hostile to black skins. This seems to be the weakness of all Indians.
