If you do not do this, it is likely to become septic and cause great harm later on. Now and then one has to clean it with pure water, apply the ointment again and put on a new bandage. In the same way in our life, there is this particular boil which has come up in our body, in the form of 'I', (ahamkara and mamakara). If you want to really cure this boil of 'I', you will have to wash it every day with the waters of love, apply the ointment of faith and tie the bandage of humility around it. This will cure the disease that has erupted with this boil of 'I’.

Afflictions cause certain disadvantages. Firstly, it will disturb our concentration,
sometimes emotional turmoil happens, Samsara disturbances, destroys merit,
violates certain vows which we like to observe towards accomplishment Godly
duties, patience, compassion and love, etc. We should keep away from all that
and unpleasant and unsatisfactory objects so as to have an atmosphere of human
bandage of friendly nature with everyone. We have take a realistic look and
concentrate on our ethical discipline.

People seek only that which is available here and now; that which is in a concrete form and is capable of being grasped by their senses; they are carried away by the attraction of flimsy pleasures. People also do not generally have the needed patience. They attach greater importance to the gross body, (sthula sarira). It may not be so easy to everyone to get free from the bondage of Samsara.
Sometimes, we are unhappy because of a strong desire towards sense objects,
Samsaric Objects too, if they do not materialize. That does not mean that
renouncing sensory pleasures is just throwing away the things that are very
much liked or desired. We must with all humble efforts try to cultivate a method
in us to handle the objects of the five senses perfectly with our noble wisdom,
so as to curtail negative reactions. This needs intensive observation and
a capacity to examine or concerned with one's own thoughts, feelings and'
motives, which we call it otherwise introspective wisdom. But, it is not that
easy to do it straightaway. It needs some analytical meditation. It needs
close analysis of our own experiences. However, we should have a firm mind
not to have overestimated expectations in our life. We must try to always pursue
nobler goals but for God's blessings, we cannot acquire anything despite our intelligence,
shrewdness and tact.

There are no permanent mothers in the world, the only permanent mother is the Divine Mother. You must always remind yourself that you are part of a spiritual family. Truth is your father, Love is your mother, Wisdom is your son, Peace is your daughter, Devotion is your brother, and Yogis are your friends. These are your true relatives who will always accompany you and be with you. When you have this kind of relationship, when you treasure such friendship, you will be able to break the bonds of the world and be free. Think of Divinity every minute of your life. This letter is prompted by Bhagawan's Will; it relates His Glory. I am a House Surgeon, working in the Pediatrics section of a hospital. A child was brought to the section, 8 days ago, with Diphtheria associated with Myocarditis. It had severe respiratory distress, and so, an emergency opening of a hole in the trachea had to be done.
This evening, the child relapsed into severe distress. The mucus had to be immediately sucked off, since it was obstructing the system, Unfortunately, the sucker in the section was out of order. So, I and my friend in the ENT section, took the child to the Operation Theatre, where a sucker was available.
Everything went on well, for some time. But, quite suddenly, the child stopped respiring! There was arrest of the heart also.
We rushed for the life saving adrenaline. Most unfortunate of all, the syringe could not be spotted at once! Not that it was not there, but, search as we might, we could not lay hands on it! And, unluckily, the sucker went out of action!
The child was completely flaccid, showing no sign of life.
In dismay, thinking of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, I took a little Vibhuti, which I always carry with me, and started to apply it on the chest of the baby. The moment I applied the Vibhuti, something happened, that brought life into ME! Yes. The child took a big gasp! My friend was most pleasantly and gratefully surprised. Soon, the heart was active. The child opened its eyes. I could not but gasp in wonder. Tears flowed from our eyes, for, Bhagawan, the Mother of all, had saved the child and given consolation and joy to the parents.
I must mention here certain events that happened, earlier, when I was preparing to go to the hospital. I had put on the shirt that I wore in the morning sessions. I was already late for my work and so, I was in a hurry. But, just when I crossed the threshold, I felt I should take that shirt off (!) and put on another that was on the hanger! The desire was over powering. I didn't know why. "Funny" I thought within myself, and put it on, and rushed to the hospital.
Trivial things can shift he balance in favour of life, when death calls aloud. The shirt on the hanger which I was compelled to put on had the Vibhuti from Bhagawan in it! I realise now that every incident in one's life, however insignificant or `accidental' has deep meaning.
Lord Hari has said in the "Sandeha Nivarini " "Can even a leaf move without My Will?"
Next time, I sing Paramam Pavithram Baba Vibhutim, (the Song which describes the soul liberating, wonder working, miraculously produced Vibhuti), Paramartha Ishtartha Moksha Pradatham, it will not be mere song, mere repeating of the lines. I will dwell delightedly, on the Pavithram, Vichithram, until I taste again the Glory of this Miracle I witnessed in the Operation Theatre today.

It is not in our hands to change our lineage. Though the family pattern have
moved away for Generations, the ancestral lineage can never be hidden or denied.
Life is a pretty long time to live with someone and with whom we may not have
a common interest. We choose a person because we like him/her or love him/her
and wanted to spend the lives together through the bondage of Wedding in the
presence of God's and Elder's Blessings. To maintain a long term relationship, it
is very important to develop mutual interests. Eventually one need to embrace
Common Interests. Similarly we should strive to live as one family in this Universe
and attain the God's Blessings. This quote is quite often given to us to make us
understand and realize the concept of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, which not only can be seen
from our ancient Puranas and Sastras but also from the Preachings of Bhagwan Baba and
our ancient Rishis, Philosophers, etc.

We may be most perfect person in our Community but still we cannot stop some one doing
a bad or wrong thing to affect the Community in general. We notice some unforeseen
occurrences in our life, sometimes it may happen the same person every day. God loves
all the Creatures including us in the world. Our life is not a path of accidental happenings.
Hence, we must be in the fold of Divine Community to eliminate or drive out the darkness
in us by associating ourselves with the Divine Family as Bhagwan Baba says.

In a game of football, the players on either side continue to kick the ball till it is sent to the goal. They must see to it that the ball does not go beyond the two posts that define the goal. The goal of life too consists of two posts: secular and spiritual. You are born as a human with the goal of not being born again. You must live within the frames of secular and spiritual pursuits. The six bad qualities — lust, anger, greed, desire, pride and jealousy are on one side, and the good qualities — truth, right conduct, peace, love, nonviolence and sacrifice are on the other side. The game is between these two teams. If you tread along the divine path you can experience peace, and also share it with others. Then you will be liberated.

Our life too is just like a Game consisting of good and bad features and
we being the ball as the object, pushed around here and there without
reaching the goal point. If our perception is completed changed from
the concept of self-centered views, we have every opportunity to win
over the situation and events and probably have every opportunity to
reach the near the Supreme Power i.e. the Goal point to win the match.

[h=3]Lesson 310[/h][h=4]Sloka 155 from Dancing with Siva[/h][h=3]Who Are the Most Recent Kailasa Gurus?[/h]Sage Yogaswami, source of Natchintanai, protector of dharma, was satguru of Sri Lanka for half a century. He ordained me with a slap on the back, commanding, "Go round the world and roar like a lion!" Aum Namah Sivaya.
[h=4]Bhashya[/h]Amid a festival crowd outside Nallur temple, a disheveled sadhu shook the bars from within the chariot shed, shouting, "Hey! Who are you?" and in that moment Yogaswami was transfixed. "There is not one wrong thing!" "It is as it is! Who knows?" Sage Chellappan said, and suddenly the world vanished. After Chellappan's mahasamadhi in 1915, Yogaswami undertook five years of intense sadhana. Later, people of all walks of life, all nations, came for his darshana. He urged one and all to "Know thy Self by thyself." It was in his thatched, dung-floor hermitage in 1949 that we first met. I had just weeks before realized Parasiva with his inner help while meditating in the caves of Jalani. "You are in me," he said. "I am in you," I responded. Later he ordained me "Subramuniyaswami" with a tremendous slap on the back, and with this diksha sent me as a sannyasin to America, saying, "You will build temples. You will feed thousands." I was 22 at the time, and he was 77. In fulfillment of his orders have I, Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, composed these 155 Slokas and Bhashyas, telling an infinitesimal fraction of all that he infused in me. Aum Namah Sivaya.

The Atma (Soul) is inherently devoid of attachment. It has no awareness of its own needs or nature of its possessions. It has no 'I' or 'mine' for these are the marks of ajnana (Illusion). Only those afflicted with ajnana will suffer from the ego or the sense of 'mine'. Though it may appear to ordinary eyes that ‘I am the doer’, the truth is ‘I am a non-doer’! Not only this, the effect of action (karma) does not cease as soon as it is finished. Karmayields fruits; the results of Karma breed desire for them; and that in turn results in impulses for further Karma. These impulses bring about further births. Thus Karma can lead to the cycle of births and deaths; it is a vicious whirlpool, making you revolve round and round, and finally dragging you down into the depths. So do not put your faith on this world and the objects of the world. Cultivate and practice detachment!

Do I really know why somethings are they way they are,
Am I bound by right or wrong or am I just acting what You wrote,
Does everyone walk in Your abode or its only Your will,
You were the only witness in this whole wide world do I need more?

What else can I say..its shut deep in my heart,
How I wish I could shout it out with love,
All I wish for is a day where I can speak,
What You my witness have already heard.

Its sweet and yet its bitter but it only makes me smile,
I dont know tears cos I only know love flows,
The pollen of red in the path and the "Pranava" of the union,
Is like what Prana is to the body for me.

Is it something that's yet to unfold?
Or is it something that I had already knew?
What which was so near was yet so far,
Finally its so near and yet far again.

Everything is familiar yet why did it begin,
I have no answers and I wonder why I question,
Is it a bargain or what was it predetermined?
May be its meant for me and that's how its meant to be.

Humility is an utmost essential and an inescapable code of conduct one should
possess in life with a view to achieving not only success in personal life but also
to attain the spiritual gains or get relief from the factors of I and Mine etc. Humility
requires sincerity and honesty. A humble person does not regard or merit his
accomplishments or possessions as his own effort or achievements but humbly
refers them to the blessings of Elders and God.

The most important reason for bondage is giving too much freedom to the mind. When an animal is tethered to a post, it will not be able to go elsewhere. It cannot show anger or violence or do harm to any person. But if it is let loose, it can roam around, destroy crops and cause loss and harm to others. In the process it may get beaten for the mischief done. Similarly, the mind must be bound by certain regulations and limits. As long as man lives within certain rules and disciplines, he will be able to maintain a good name and lead a happy and useful life. Once he crosses these limits he will go astray.

Sai lives on

Sadachara (Good conduct) is nothing but right thought, speech and deeds. Sadachara
only precisely decides one's behavior in one's day to day life. One should behave in such
a way that he should be an example to others. One should adopt sincerely humility and
shun away the arrogance in him. Our Vedas and Puranas say that one should never
neglect the welfare aspect of near and dear and the community as a whole, if possible,
similarly must not neglect study and teaching of Vedas, Hindu Hymns, duties to the
ancestors and to the God besides prosperity and growth.

The Maha Sivarathri is fast approaching. I always remember the days when once I attended
the Celebration in Prashanti Nilayam. Aum Namah Sivaya. If one chants or writes 108 times or 1008
times on that day, he/she will get a good relief in this material world.

In fact, the Krishna Yajur Veda about Sadachara states : "One who has not turned away from
wickedness, who has no peace, who is not concentrated, whose mind is restless -- he who
cannot realise the Atman, who is known by the Wisdom -"

Everything has a boundary or limitations. Just like a Country has or a Man's wealth and Pleasures.
If a person amasses wealth beyond his limits through non-dharmic methods, he will surely get only
disease and not sleep as a common man is able to. I will just like to conclude and submit that Sadachara
is nothing but a breath we have. This should be sincerely followed and adopted in our day to day life
as Bhagawan Baba says so as to attain the true wealth of God's Blessings.

Karma as such has no capacity to bind; it is the conceit, 'I am the doer' that brings about the attachment and the bondage. Again, it is the desire for the fruit of action that produces the bondage. For example: the zero gets value only when in association with a digit. Karma is zero; the feeling of 'doership' when associated with Karma breeds bondage. So give up the sense of ‘I’ and the Karma that you do will never harm you. Karmadone without any desire for the fruits thereof will not produce impulses; that is to say, there will be no impulse for birth even. The spiritual aspirants of the past, performed Karma with this high ideal in view. They never felt that they were the ‘doers’ or ‘enjoyers of the fruits’ of any act. The Lord did, the Lord gave the fruit and the L ord enjoyed the fruit - that was their conviction! You too should cultivate that faith.

Shivarathri is the day when one tries to establish friendship between the mind and God. Shivarathri makes one aware of the fact that the same Divinity is all-pervasive and is to be found everywhere. It is said that Shiva lives in Kailasa. But where is it?Kailasa means joy and bliss. It means that God lives in our minds, that are filled with joy and delight. How can one get this joy? It comes when we develop purity, steadfastness and sacredness. The heart then is filled with peace and bliss and becomes the temple of God. There is no use in just thinking of God onShivarathri, once a year. Every day, every night, every minute, you should think of Divinity and sanctify your time. You yourself are truly Shiva, the Divine. Try to understand and recognize this principle of Shiva Tatva (Divine essence) which is indeed your own reality.

God has not only compassion but has also sympathy and mercy to all of us.
We have to do our duties without fail through prayer or worship. First we
should sympathy towards weaker sections. Physical and mental satisfaction
that we undergo or owing to pains we suffer, are all nothing but our own
deeds, whether it is intentionally or unknowingly. We sow a good seed and
that when the plant grows it gives us fruits, we enjoy it. We find inequality
amongst us while some are poor, others are wealthy. Similarly, some one is
a millionaire and his neighbor faces absolute poverty. We should accept every
thing in life as the result of our deeds and try to do good atleast in this generation
without wasting much time. If we are on the right path, God will certainly show
us his compassion.

Control of mind by a person is rather difficult unless he has attained confidence through meditation
and other divine practices. We also know that Man and his Mind is always at variance i.e. it
fluctuates. Similarly power of thoughts do fluctuate. For e.g. when we a drop an object or a stone
into a well, we will soon notice that a series of ripples from the point where we dropped the object
to the extreme end of the well thus covering the entire well. If our thought is pure and sacred, the
ripples that emanates in the mind soon covers all our senses and limbs in the body, say, from head
to toe. Another eg. When we see a good object or a good scenery, our vision also gets purified,
which we feel through our senses. Human mind is made up of plenty of thoughts and aberrations i.e.
deviation from what is accepted as normal or right. We therefore should not give an opportunity to
yield to bad thoughts, bad associations of people or bad relationships. If we strictly follow and comply
with the right conduct and observe and all good thoughts while carrying out good deeds, we are
sure to attain the grace of God.
