Like a lighted lamp, God’s Grace spreads all round, on all who approach Him and love to be near Him. But if you interpose a shade which shuts out the light from you, if Grace does not shine, you have only yourself to blame. Open the doors of your heart and let the sunlight of God’s grace shine through and illumine all the corners and drive out the vices. To receive the desired programme on your radio set, you have to switch on and tune the receiver. That is an inescapable effort. Believe, strive and succeed - that is the message of the sacred texts.

One can please God by offering HIM what he/she has, either through Prayer or
Neivedhyam according to the God's earmarked/dedicated Prasadams. In fact, HE
sees us every moment as to what we are doing through our life practices, inner
and outer mind feelings towards HIM. God realization is not a futile exercise. There
are some people who deny the existence of God straightaway without accepting
our Ithihasas or Puranas, where we are explained through various Avatars. In fact,
faith is the harbinger of reality. The crowing of a Cock is a harbinger of Dawn. The
Cuckcoo is a harbinger of Spring. The feeling of gratitude makes a person genuinely
happy and God is thus pleased, when a person is really happy. Upanishads and
Purnas have clearly outlined that the body is the Chariot and the Soul is its Master.
Truth, faith, belief and Confidence besides dedicated worship awakens the body and
pilots the soul. As Baba says, one should open the doors to HIM to get in and live
in through his Namas, Chanting of Mantras or Slokas, etc.

To deny by your acts the truth of what you preach is a sign of cowardice and moral suicide. You say that God knows and sees everywhere, but you also do something wrong with the belief that God is elsewhere at that time. The most valuable message you must take from scriptures and sages is this: Carry on your legitimate duties, discharge your obligations, live up to your rights, but do not allow attachment to grow. Be like a trustee, so far as family, riches, reputation, knowledge and skills are concerned. Leave them gladly aside, when the call comes.

We have an ample explanation on the above in Sanathana Sarathy magazine. According to
Baba, women may have to inculcate a quality of compassion, love and sacrifice. It is said
that there is no nobler quality than sacrifice. Also it is mentioned that Men do not have the
same spirit of sacrifice as women. Further Baba says, one has to understand each other.
If that is done, then adjustment will be easy. Primary factor is understanding and the
second factor is adjustment. Normally, majority of people try to adopt a procedure of
adjustment first, which according to Baba is not perfectly correct. HE says that one should
understand each other. For e.g. one may have anger, ego and stress or tension, etc. Here
in this situation, the person must have adjustment and understanding each other without
involving to quarrel or fight. The concept of "Selfness is God" is to be kept in mind.

Normally, we notice a person making a scathing remark on seeing a person
making a slight mistake. This is absolutely incorrect. In fact, we should
assess ourselves first as to whether we are faultless before making a comment
on others. It is very easy to find fault or disliking others, whilst accepting
our own flaw or rectifying it takes time. A person may be black in colour or
white, but if the qualities and conduct, thinking are one and the same, then one
should not differentiate them. In some countries racism may be different.
While looking into the cultures and traditions, if one finds someone is very much
devoted to God, one must give him the due respect and merit for his acts.
Similarly, whether enemy or friend, one has to move without any ill-feeling and
speak to them in soft words without hurting them. Every one gets dream,
love, hatred-ism, feelings of happiness or sorrow, laugh or cry or whatever may
be. All are human being and are created by the God only. If one analyses
very deeply, an understanding will be arrived at that at the end of the day
everyone is same.

Generally it is said that one should have a good Guru to preach good things. In other words,
the Guru guides a person in doing good Karma, while God is the decider of our Karma. In fact,
the term Karma denotes the deeds that have been performed by a person, which ultimately
decides his destiny. In Mahabharatha, we notice that Destiny is very powerful and it is very
difficult to avoid or evade the consequences of our past deeds. Some say, can we ask for
mercy from our sufferings? Can we say that we are free from the sin of doing any harm or
injury to others, why even creatures. Good actions always bring good results, while bad
actions bring suffering to those who have done bad deeds. Consequences of deeds i.e. Karma
need not necessarily be experienced by a person in the present life only, why it can also be
carried forward into the future lives too, viz. just like P&L account in Balance Sheet. Deeds
can be of different types i.e. Good Deeds, Selfish Acts, Neutral Acts, etc. As Baba says,
one must strive to cultivate very good habits of not only thoughts but also actions in order
to make our life very simple and God-fearing, so as to attain HIS bliss.

As Baba says, we should be dutiful and worshipful to God without waiting for the
result. God knows us and HE will give us the benefits at the right time. Some
people normally feel that even after worshiping and praying God daily, God does
not give HIS blessings. One should not get discouraged and should continue to
pray HIM and do the service to HIM as hitherto. One should only pray to God
to give the wisdom, confidence, faith and courage to pray HIM daily and render good
service to HIM and to the Society. Some people feel that if we do harm to others
it may get retaliated. No doubt it is true. One should not harm others. Some people
feel that there is no God and for them they assume there is no Heaven or Hell. They
only understand if there is any fault from their end, punishment can be offered only
by the Judiciary or any other Machinery in a Civilized Society other than God.
They are not worried about doing evil deeds. Such people, when they are in problems
or sometimes when miraculous things happen, then they say that there is someting
like presence of Divine Power, otherwise they do not accept the presence of God.

First of all, I feel that a True-Guru or Sat-Guru is to be capable of developing
an awareness in the mind of a person the concept of Divine Consciousness.
If we peruse the Bhagavad Githa, which is around 19 Chapters, in the second
Chapter, particularly verses from 55 to 72 or so, the concept of Guru has been
discussed. It is a discussion between Bhagawan Lord Krishna and Arjuna,
wherein Lakshnas of a Guru is being debated upon. Arjuna says to Lord Krishna,
O Krishna, could you kindly let me as to what are the symptoms for finding a
Sat-Guru, what would be his language, what would be his posture, his method
of speaking and walking etc. Perhaps Arjuna wants to be clear in his mind
about the characteristics of a Guru. In reply to that Lord Krishna replies
about Sthita-Prajna and explains to him. A Guru only will be able to enlighten
us by eliminating the ignorance in us and as Baba says, the Guru would be able
to lead us in the correct path to attain Lord's Bliss.

Righteousness bring peace and in turn peace brings joy to one. One must
always hold good the thoughts and feelings together besides conducting the
mental and emotional activity towards good cause and actions. We may also
notice thoughts and feelings clash each other at times and that must be
curbed and it has to be directed towards one route. Further, sometimes
mental and emotional feelings or happiness makes us tired and at that moment
without any hesitation, one must devote towards God to attain mental peace.
This can be happen through sustained concentration and control of mind.

When the incident I am relating occurred, I was a student of the 10th class. I was suffering from constant stomachache for about a year; I used to vomit blood five to seven times a day. In spite of such a bad condition, I attended all the Bhajans arranged by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti, Dharamsala (H P.) regularly. I was also a student of the Bal Vikas at that time.
One day at school the mathematics class was going on. I felt like vomiting and asked for permission to go out. When I came back, my teacher stared at me and said: "You are a devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba; why does not He cure you with His Divine ash (Vibhuti)?"
These words of the teacher hurt me very much. I came back home with a heavy heart. I decided not to take any medicine but only "Vibhuti.” Even then my condition was not improving. This was a great test for me.
It was the month of July. My school was closed for two months. My mother decided to take me to the Post Graduate Institute at Chandigarh for treatment, as my condition was getting worse day by day.
It was a Monday, near about 2 P. M. I was lying on my bed and reading the book, "Sathyam, Sivam, Sundaram." There was a passage in it where Swami says: "I dwell in the hearts of My devotees." I thought, "What Swami said here is not true in my case. Swami is not in my heart. If Swami is in my heart, why don't I feel His presence?" Thinking about all this I fell asleep. Then Sai Baba of Shirdi appeared in my vision and from the other side Sri Sathya Sai Baba appeared and then both merged with each other and after that there was only our beloved Swami. An enchanting smile was playing on His lips. He said, "Jivatma! Awake! Arise! See Who is before you!" I replied with great joy, "Swami, Bhagawan Himself is standing before me.” Swami became serious and said, "Recognise Me and give Me a place in your heart.” I answered, "Swami. I don't have the capability to keep such a great soul in my heart." Swami said, "Keep Me always in your heart.”
After that, I changed the topic and asked "Swami, I have great anger in me. You say that anger is a vice. In my anger I feel like destroying everything that comes before me, but anyhow I control myself.” At this Swami laughed and said, "Even then this doesn't help you." I requested, "Please advise me about the way I can control myself.” Swami answered, "When your temper rises, drink some cold water, take a walk around the garden or lie down on your bed.” I asked Bhagawan "We call You so much, but even then you don't come. How should we call You?"
Swami replied with a smile: "I am with you every moment; you yourself cannot feel My presence.” He continued: "Whenever you get the opportunity to serve anyone, serve him well. While serving, don't think of what you will get in return. You attend all Bhajans and Bal Vikas regularly; it makes Me feel very happy, but don't think when you come to Puttaparthi Swami will reward you. Do Seva without thinking of its reward.” Then Bhagawan said, "Swami is in your heart and wants you to get cured.”
And true to His words, Swami cured me and the roots of that illness have completely disappeared. I don't know in what words I can thank Bhagawan. I can only ask for His blessings and pray to Him to show me the path of goodness.

God is never partial and HE is always impartial. God gives everyone equal chance
or opportunity to live in this world, but for the sin one commits or committed in the
past. While God loves everyone equally, human being only differentiate amongst
themselves. It is because one's own ego. Some may be greedy or jealousy. One
should not be dishonest to others. If a devotee surrenders completely to the God
question of fear or apprehension does not arise. There used to be a quote. Every
drop of water becomes an ocean. Just like a drop of rain water that merges into the
Sea in its vast area, the devotee also gets merged once he/she gets himself/herself
join a Satsang and chant the Namasmaran of the Lord Krishna or Shiva and gets
the blessings of the God, provided one has concentration and devotion towards the
God. Then automatically the fear, worries or attachments, sorrows slowly gets
eliminated. In other words, if one pours water to the root of the tree only, the benefit
goes to the entire parts of the tree. Thus one should concentrate on the God while
chanting HIS Namasmaran. Besides if one loves God with complete devotion, it is
equal to loving everyone, as the practice or habit gets cultivated automatically.

What in reality is this body? It is but the Atma (soul) encased in five Koshas or sheaths – Annamaya (sheath composed of food),Pranamaya (sheath composed of vitality), Manomaya (one composed of thought), Vijnanamaya (sheath of intelligence), andAanandamaya (sheath of bliss). By understanding this truth and contemplating over it, one attains discrimination to recede from these sheaths to the inner, more real core. Thus, step by step, a spiritual aspirant abandons one sheath after another and is able to dissolve away all of them, to achieve the knowledge of his unity with Brahmam (Divinity).

The reverberations of a mind can be analyzed by one's joy and sorrow.
Sometimes, we may have to clear the fog of bad strains that settles
over our thoughts consequent upon the feelings of either sorrow or joy.
We may need to shun the sorrows and voice our feelings through Namasmarans
and spiritual activities to get over the mist that rests in our mind at times
owing to the temporary pace. In fact, the solution to attain a peace of
mind, without being disturbed by the sorrow or joy, and achieve concentration
towards the spiritual activities, is entirely depends on complete dedication towards
spiritual activities without swaying the mind towards the result in particular.

Spiritual enlightenment and Oneness just like that cannot be achieved by
everybody. It needs lot of effort and practice with complete dedication of mind.
"Deeksha" a kind of Upasana or a method is generally adopted by a Guru to
the Sishya to facilate spiritual awakening in a person. Some feel that their
prayer remains unanswered and their goal has not been achieved or their
anticipated result has not materialised or their prayer is not fulfilled by the God.
It can be said that they are yet to fall in the true track of wisdom towards
worshiping God. It can also be termed as a morning mist before the rising Sun.
In other words, perhaps their prayer is not a wholehearted one or devoted to the
God, mainly because their ambition is in the back of the mind splashing now and
then without allowing the mind to have absolute dedication in the prayer. Unless
one is dedicated with spiritual consciousness besides absolute concentration on the God
while worshiping or praying, it shows that may be one i.e. he/she has not attained
the level of oneness, without curbing their mind from wandering, during the phase
of Worship. One has to ensure that the Spiritual and Divine Oneness must unite
together. i.e. rather a communion of mind with the God at the time of Worship,
setting aside the negative thoughts and disbelief of the fact of accomplishment
of desired result. One has to lay a foundation of spiritual consciousness in their
mind to attain the God's blessings. The spiritual sphere of activity is a supplement
with a sincere and humble effort through the bond of dedicated meditation and prayer.

The father or mother write to their children, pleading with them not to give up the family habits of worship, prayer, food and drink. The children may have tears in their eyes with fond remembrance of their parents, but that is all. They then yield to the temptations and slide away. The spirit with which the letter is written is not honoured in action. So too, many worship the sacred books that have noble thoughts present in them. They shower flowers and offer prayers, but when it comes to practising even a bit of what is written in them, it seems an impossible task for most! Subject: Miracle in Ooty
To:
Sairam Brothers
Offering our most humble salutations at the Divine Lotus Feet of our Loving Lord Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. We are sharing an inspiring “LELA” of our “Lela Moha Sai” who is still continuing His Lelas with
greater intensity.
The Truck Driver from Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu / India) carried the Floor tiles for our Connoor Sri Sathya Sai Samithi and reached Connoor by early morning around 5.00am on 8th July 2012 Sunday. He called our Sai Sister Yasodha, to inform her about his arrival and wanted her to open the Samithi to unload the Floor tiles from the truck. Sister Yasodha explained this that it was too early in the morning, dark, cold and above all she has to inform Sai youth to join her in unloading the tiles and requested the driver to wait till 6.00 am.

The Driver requested our Sister Yasodha to come as early as possible. At this time, the Driver observed someone in White Dress, opening the Samithi. Then Person introduced himself as “I am Swami’s Devotee from Chennai, I have come to unload the tiles”. The Devotee unloaded tiles and arranged them neatly. He handed over the keys to the Driver with a smile and told him, “Sister Yasodha will come now, she will collect the keys from you” and walked away.

Around 6.00 am, Sister Yasodha, was searching the Keys for the Samithi. To her great surprise, they were missing from the usual place. She search all over her house and could not find them. Finally, she decided to go to the Samithi and unload the “Floor Tiles” in the nearby house, so that she can send the driver back to Coimbatore, who is being delayed. When Sister Yasodha reached Swami’s Samithi, she was wonder struck.
She saw the Swami’s Samithi was open. She asked the Driver “How did you manage to open the Samithi?”. He informed her that, the person sent by her, from Chennai, A Sai Devotee, came opened the Samithi and unloaded all the tiles. “What a Sai Devotee from Chennai ?” – how did he manage to get the keys from my home Sister Yasodha was amazed. “How did he look like ?” asked our Sister. The Driver described the features of the Devotee. Further added to mention that he had a Red Kumkumam on his fore head.

Now Sister Yasodha was so very anxious to confirm the statements of the Driver. She showed the Driver the Photo Album having photos taken during “Sai Kailas” inauguration. The Album had the photos of Sai Devotes and Swami Students who had come from Chennai for the inauguration of the Temple. The Driver pointed “Brother Krishnamoorthy Venkataraman” from Chennai, (Swami’s Student) as the Devotee, who came and unloaded the tiles. She knows the fact that Brother Krishnamoorthy Venkataraman is in Chennai. On 8th July, He is giving a lecture in Chinthadripet Sri Sathya Sai Samithi’s anniversary celebrations.

Sister Yasodhas happiness had no bounds. She informed everyone about this Miracle. Dr.Ramu, the District President of Nigiris call our Brother Krish around 8.30 am. Brother Krish was very well there in Chennai, enjoying the Balavikas cultural Programme in Chinthadripet. Dr.Ramu shared the wonderful and inspiring Miracle of Swami with Brother Krish.

Brother Kish, shared the Love of Swami for His Devotees during his talk in Chinthadripet. The Anniversary was very grand with participation of Past Balavikas children. District President for South Chennai Sai Brother Sri.Balasubramanian gave an excellent speech. The function was concluded with Maha Mangala Aarathi for Swami. After thefunction, Brother Krish took his prasadam and came to Sundaram Temple.
When Brother Krish came to Sundaram, he first went to Sai Sundareshwarar, thanked Swami for His Love for His Devotees, went to the book stall and then entered the Mini Prayer Hall.

The Sevadal inthe Mini Prayer Hall Mr.Pattabiraman got up from hischair and told Brother Krish “Sir, you wanted the keys for the room in the first floor, I told you to collect it from Brother Palani, he is there entering Sundaram, you can collect the keys from him- Sairam”.
BrotherKrish could not understand anything from this statement. Brother Krish clarified “Why do I need the keys for the room in the first floor ?That is Swami’s Room – Right ?”. Brother Pattabiraman smiled and replied “You came an hour before and asked the keys for the room. I told you that Brother Palani has the keys. Then you went out. Now you have come again, Brother Palani is also coming. “

Brother Krish wasseeing stars is various colours. One hour back, I was in Chinthadripet Samithi, talking to Balavikas Children. Later I had my Prasadam (Potato curry with Sambar rice ) with our District President Mr.Balu, how can I come here ?”. Brother Pattabiraman continued “What Brother, you came here 1 hour ago, Same shirt, Same smile, Same voice, Same Red Kumkumam on the forehead. There were only 3 people you have come to Mini Prayer Hall. First you came. Then it was our Sai Brother Meenakshi Sundaram from Radio Sai Team with his friend. Now, Again you have come. I very well know, it was you who came here an hour ago”.
Brother Krish was in tears. Brother Krish recollect the Golden Days he had with Swami in 1986 January during Swami’s visit to Sundaram, In the Very same Mini Prayer Hall of Sundaram is where Swami assured
Brother Krish that Swami will do anything for the Pure Love and Devotion of His Devotees.

Brother Pattabiraman shared his divine experiences with everyone in Sundaram. Later that evening, while introducing the speaker to the devotes in Sundaram, our National Vice President Sri.Ramani shared
both the instances of Ooty and Sundram with all Sai Family Members. The Message was that Swami is omnipresent, He is within us and with us both without form and with form, guiding us and showering His Divine Love & Grace. It is time for us to realize the same.
When I called up Brother Krish, he was in total bliss. He told me that, “This is PURELY SWAMM’S DIVINE LOVE”. We have read in Periya Puranam, how Lord Shiva came to rescue his devotees. How he carried sand and work on behalf of a old woman. Now, for the Pure and intense Love of the Devotees of Nilgiris, Swami has come and unloaded the tiles with His own Divine hands. Brother Krish was so very happy for
the truck Driver, who was so very fortunate to spend nearly an hour with Swami. Brother Krish confirmed that it is ONLY with the Grace of our Bhagwan, our Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation and Because of his
Balavikas Guru, he is leading a better life. Brother Krish concluded that, he is praying to Swami for His Divine Guidance for having minimum one Sri Sathya Sai Balavikas in each and every pincode of India. Thanking Swami for His Divine Love and Grace. Om Sri Sairam

The truck driver is indeed blessed..I have a great feeling that Baba did not want the truck driver to get delayed for a reason best known to Baba. That's is why Baba came Himself and opened the door and unloaded the tiles.
