If one is completely free from any sort of desire, one can attain an appreciable
state of peaceful life and also filled with bliss from the God, as the mind would
be completely towards God. But this can be possible only when we are able to
have a control over the mind and become master of its derivatives. Sometimes
to one's bad luck, desires drive a person's senses to an unimaginable way
making that person mad, and persistently revoke him to have outward look
for experiencing superficial pleasures likely to be gained from sense objects.

If one want's to be free absolutely from this persisting unbearable load and
restlessness, he/she has to learn as to how transcend the mind by way of
undisturbed meditation or control over mind through mind controlling rigorous
activities.
As Baba says instead of wasting energy in unwanted things,
one can undertake meditation, prayer, worship, bhajan, association with
Satsang, etc towards Godly activities to attain the salvation in life.

glad to Know this site

Welcome Sir. You will enjoy this Site. Please do offer your experience and participate.

If a person visits Puttaparuthi, one can notice the minds of devotees with exhilaration
profusely coming out of Bhagavan's Dharshan. One can notice many sitting over their
eyes closed in the Prarthana Hall, meditating with complete dedication on the glorious
experience of the magnificent form of Bhagavan Baba. The sweet messages that are
given by Baba at different times will come just like a flowing water to one's ear's. People
doing service at Puttaparuthi gain a very clear understanding to make their life enjoyable
and also to helps others. Everyone is equal before God. When I went to Shirdi I had
an enjoyable dharshan of Shirdi Baba. That is also a worth visiting place at least once
in a person's life time. During that time, I heard from the fellow devotees that Muslims had
recognised the importance of Shirdi Baba only nine years before His passing away from this world.

As far as Sai Sathya Baba is concerned, several miracles have happened to many
and many have taken rebirth owing to HIS blessings, leave alone his gifts to the
devotees from the thin air like watches, gold chains or ashes etc., which he takes
it out from the long sleeves of his silk kurta. One to get a dharshan closer to HIM and
to receive HIS Blessings is something really a great blessing in one's life which normally
every one do not get.

A number of patients have mentioned about HIS healing powers. A true devotee had
HIS Dharshan in several places and HE gives Dharshan to HIS devotees, wherever the
Devotees are. This, we have noticed in our Cousin's place. Whether people believe it
or not, we believe and even now in my Cousin's house, the holy ash falls from HIS
picture on every Thursdays when Bhajan is performed, which one we have adorned in the
prayer room.

Often we read reports that the number of patients treated are increasing year after year. This is worrisome. Illnesses are caused not so much by the food people eat or the conditions in which they live, but by mental weakness and attitudes, prejudices and predilections. Desires, disappointments, despair – these also cause diseases. For many illnesses, filling the mind with thoughts of God is the curative drug. For others, regimented diet, sleep, appropriate pastimes and activities are effective cures. The scriptures taught this regimen and the proper mental attitudes, and these teachings are invaluable in the present context. Remember, ‘Mitha Thindi, Athi Haayi’ – Moderate food gives excellent health. Eat to live – Do not believe that you live in order to eat.

One should have endurance and self control in facing any problem or difficulties without
loosing faith in God. One needs courage to look honestly at oneself to identify his/her
true strength and weaknesses. Even if some one has done some mistake, one should be
be brave enough to admit the mistakes as everything is being watched by the God. No
matter one is going to loose anything in accepting the fact, as one is going to correct
himself/herself from the wrong way of life one is pursuing. Further, one should have a
concept of loving the God above everything as material benefits may not last long and
similarly one must know to love the neighbour just like relatives without any differentiation.
One needs some sort of bravery even to take a good decision of welfare measures without
a wavering mind. One has to cultivate a habit of loving everyone while placing the entire
trust on God, who will certainly come forward to assist in times of need. There is a proverb,
if one helps a person, someone else will come forward to help or protect him/her when one
is really in trouble. In the process, if there are any enemies, they will too become powerless
and they would also show sympathy by changing their mind. One should develop a right
mental attitude, which would pave a way for a better life with the Blessings of God.

To take birth as a human being is a very rare occasion and one knows that
only based on the past Karma, this opportunity one gets. During this life one
has to do whatever possible through any method either through Bhajan, Satsangh
activities or Nama parayanam of God or chanting of Slokas, etc. One should
devote towards God instead of looking at others, particularly who are rich and
wealthier and must not create a feeling of envy or jealousy of their living. Constant
thinking of that would bring only sickness and disease rather undisturbed mind. On the
other hand if one devotes the mind and heart absolutely towards HIM one would
be healthier. A basic concept of God is the source for everything must be clearly
understood by everyone. If one does evil things, our activities are watched by HIM.
One should be firm in mind and heart for undisturbed peace and tranquility, there is
no bye pass road other than spiritual walk one has to undertake. In order to attain this,
faith is the basic qualification. There is no need to search for physical or intellectual
techniques. However, one has to have certain discipline to be practiced for bringing
HIM in our mind through various time tables like prayer, worship, dhyanam, etc. ,
which would slowly facilitate in attaining a feeling of divine relationship. Once a
person chants Lord Krishna's name regularly with his image in mind and heart,
it will automatically reveal its powers and the divine love will take its birth in our heart.
Dedicated devotion brings the divine love towards HIM. In the process, it makes the
life really worth living. Particularly, if one is regular in Satsang programmes where
Lord's Nama is chanted regularly with others, it would bring a divine-sweetness
in one's life. Once the trust or confidence in HIM grows or enhances, automatically
HIS bliss will certainly enhance. Faith is nothing but a simple uniting factor of mind
and object. Thus, faith or confidence and affection towards God, has to be rightly
understood and one can watch the achievement of an appreciable result in
course of time. To be very precise, we have stories and incidents to teach or tell
every one. All the Gopikas affectionately loved Lord Krishna as their beloved
and which facilitated them to attain the divine love. Whereas, if one concentrates
on material attachments and acquirement, the results would not be that favorable
as days pass through. Because, if one is not able to attain that, worry, sad feeling
mental disturbance, unhappiness, etc. arise leading to diseases. One must take
an oath having absolute faith and trust that there is a super natural power
and to serve HIM only (that is God and nothing else) this mortal body has been
created in this material world. If this concept of faith is inculcated in one's mind
and heart, automatically that would take a person to a right direction only.

One has to understand the value and chief object of the human life. One may
notice people live and die without any purpose, which is talked only after their
death while some are praised for their good deeds. Human life transcends the physical
sphere. One may enjoy in life many things which are good for the eyes, but the irony
of truth is that they are all only ordinary and typically unexciting; lasting only for
short time and are purely temporary. In order to enable us to fulfill the object and
purpose of our life, it is rather necessary to gain proper knowledge and wisdom
about God and the ordained purpose in life. The main purpose of our life is to really
know what it really means, love the God's divine power that pertains to life through
spiritual practices. The soul has no beginning or no end rather it is eternal and mortal.
As Baba says, our body is only rented for a certain period or duration and it can get
destroyed any time without giving any advance notice at times. To be very precise,
the physical life is purely a manifestation of HIM. One has been sent to this world
not for wasting the life according to one's material desire but to usefully utilise it
in accordance with HIS desire and Will. One always gets signals from the Disciples
how to spend the life. Normally, if one sits alone, a question arises in the mind as
to why we are here. What is the actual purpose of our life etc. Why God does not
give a person an unending life. While we notice, some die and some takes birth,
immediately a question will arise in our mind as why God creates every one and
what is the purpose, etc. Only a few get the answer and not all. The Disciples
always remind us to understand that the human beings only are the representatives
of the God. God does not forbid us from enjoying the life in a right direction. But
HE wants us to understand the actual purpose of life. Hence one has to take an
oath in life and choose the right direction as to how to live. One can lead a very
simple life with HIS blessings and can also help others if there is a possibility. We have
certain instructions to be followed in life from the Puranas and Ithihasas, etc
as to how to conduct ourselves. If someone disobeys, the result may not be immediate,
but may later feel or repent about that. Just like an accident, when one does not
obey the rules of the road. Happiness and Sorrow cycles change according to one's
own deeds and Karma. God has given us the sense of thinking enabling us to
differentiate between bad and good deeds. Therefore, it is for us to live up to that
utilizing our energy and body for the genuine and Godly activities, which in turn pays
the rent to HIM for hiring the body granted to us by HIM during our lifetime. By chanting
HIS Nama with dedication and absolute concentration one can certainly flourish in life
and also can be proved that the human being is the most important creature of God
besides one can be a model to others.

Every one has to be firm in worship because it has its own unpronounced effect. Some call
it as work-ship as worth-ship in factories, because it helps one to earn his/her livelihood.
There, the quality of having worth or of being worthy is very much assessed. Similarly,
when one does worship of God, there should not be any Chintana, as to whether it would
produce its worthiness. It has its own attributes and some follow in different pattern. While
some Disciples do worship in their own style, they make it a practice of doing Pravachanam
about the importance of worship to make others to understand the significance. While they
give a discourse, though it involves giving a lecture with examples, i.e. it amounts to speaking
of God's treasures facilitating others to the involvement of listening the God's acts in different
forms, and finally guide the devotees in the involvement of doing the right things. Once a
person attend Pravachanams or Satsangh progragrammes, without the knowledge of the person
who attends, his/her heart expresses itself in words and songs along with others while the
mind becomes very active when one wants to learn about the God and the purpose of worship.
As Baba says, God desires and expects one to do all divine activities for achieving the usefulness
of the life; where our mortal body and strength are involved when one obeys HIS commands
through HIS representatives i.e. Disciples, particularly when one serves fellow devotees.

Bhagavan Shri Krishna is showing his four Hands to Arjuna

Whatever one does in every day's life has to be in the good spirit thinking of
God. One's humble effort to pray or worship the God will not go waste. God
is always sympathetic towards HIS devotees, who is very humble and realizes
the mistakes, if any, and want to dwell in HIS holiness. If a person does
sincere worship, God will certainly give him/her the requisite strength. Through
HIS disciples HE will always assist those who are in the right path. In Bhagavad
Gita, about Lord Krishna's address, it is mentioned as Shri Bhagavan Uvacha.
The word Bhagavan is defined as : Bhaga - Eiswaryam Van -Who possesses that.
That means one can say HE who has all the Eiswaryam - Veda has meaning to
every word. Bhagavan is all pervasive. One uses the word Bhagavan to denote
the God.

Eishvaryasya Samakrasya
Veeryasya Yashasaha Shriyaha
Jnana -Vairaghyayosh chaiva
Shannam Baha etheengana

Bhagavan possesses all the six Eishvaryams such as Wealth, Courage & Strength,
Popularity, Beauty, Knowledge, Sanniyasam. Bakthi Vedanta Prabupathar has
described very clearly about the Bhagavan in his Scripts.

As Baba says if one worships Him, he/she would be able to attain a
spiritual relation with Him which adorns one's heart with His Spirit. In fact
Worship brings peace of mind in one's life.

In the Kali Yuga, some mention that those who do Adharmam enjoys the
life and one who does Dharmam becomes the sufferer in life. Strictly
speaking it is not a true statement. Everyone has to undergo the sufferings
because of one's previous Karma or misdeeds. To overcome or to get
protected from all this, if one worships God, God will certainly give a
relief to the devotee.

One may notice from some people who say that they are not happier
in spite of having all the things in their house. Some have an unquenchable
thirst of seeking friendship and acquiring wealth also never seem to be satisfied
in life. The traits that are inherent in them make them unsatisfied. One may
also hear from some people telling that they don't need anything except a
healthy life. No doubt ability of a person is an important tool to make the
life happier and satisfied. But at the same time, ability in the absence of
commitment and awareness about a particular thing is just like a train coach
without an engine to be pulled. As Baba says, the thirst for wordly material goods
can never be appeased. There is only one solution that is Bhakthi, Devotion,
Meditation, Yoga, Namasmaran of Bhagawan which can only fetch a constant
peace in the mind and contentment in life.

One may pray any God, either Ishta Devatha or Kula Devatha, but one has to
have a complete dedication in the worship or prayer to achieve the satisfaction
of the prayer or worship. Lord Shiva Mantras enables the people to obtain a
peace of mind and in turn it not only enhances one's awareness in a way
but also gives an opportunity to get relief in a difficult period. It is not the reality
that one feels outside but it is the inside reality of one's mind is more important,
leading to spiritual reality. If one is able to harmonize the mind and the heart
it will be a great awakening.

Everyone has read stories of Lord Krishna, who steals everyone's mind,
while Radha steals Lord Krishna's mind when She makes use of Her divine talents.

HE not only forcibly pulls Radha from Her home with the sweet music
of HIS flute filled with His loveliness but also everyone who loves HIM.

Yesterday in the Shankara TV Pujyashri Shri Srigeri Swamigal was explaining in
detail about the difference between the Brahmaloka and the heaven of desire
as explained in the Brahma Sutra. HE was mentioning that from Brahma-Loka
one does not return to this mortal world whereas from the heavens one returns.
Further, he also explained about the Brahmaloka being a heaven of form is greater
than the heavens of desire
.

Devotion and Bakthi towards God brings compassion. Some in this world still start
questioning about the existence of God. It needs greater faith to identify the God's
existence in one's mind or generate a belief in one's mind, because some have a query
that they are unable to see physically. However, everyone know that the there is
a physically unseen proof of God’s existence i.e. Supreme Power , which is in the shape of
invisible form —his eternal power and divine nature. Further, every human being has an
innate perception that there is some thing which is valued more than one's life unable to
meet through the eyes. The object of worship by people may vary, but the sense of a Supreme
Power is an undeniable part of a human being. Our ancient sages have performed countless acts
of compassion and visible miracles to authenticate God's existence. We have Puranas and
Ithihasas to that effect. No one can deny that God has not created this Universe, which has been
accepted by the Scientific Developments too. Some may not be able to throw a direct evidence
for the cause of the universe, but have acquired a fair amount of knowledge about the
formation of the Universe through ancient history and the principles that governs it since its origin
Normally, it is said that Science has no powers to directly detect or invent the God in a Lab but it
has proved beyond its doubt that the Universe has been created by HIM. That itself is a proof that
the Universe was created by HIM (Super Power) only. Like that, if one is to argue for physical
verification like any other object, there are many things to cite, which are really invisible.
Everyone knows the electricity. It has a major role to play in every field right from invention to
construction of any object besides its application to a normal man's life in day to day usage.
When we put a switch, the light glows, we can see the effect of it through electrical appliances.
If we touch live wire, we get shock, that shows electricity is passing through. Newton has invented
gravitation. Has any one has seen the gravitational force through naked eyes. Suppose, if we throw
a ball up in the air, it comes down, then we say there is a gravitation. Does it make any noise,
except for the feeling that the ball comes down. We do not have any smell like flower, food like
taste, etc. God has created animal and human being but HE has not created every thing uniform
as a similar object. We need air to breath and it exists around us. We do not see it and we do not
know what colour it is. But if it is filled in a baloon, we know the weight of it. Similarly, Gas which
we use for burning a stove. We do not see with our eyes but we are able to understand through smell,
when the cylinder leaks. As Baba says, God has created this world with some purpose and it can be
seen in the Nature. However, for a devotee to see the glimpse of God, he/she has to worship
HIM with sincere dedicated prayer and meditation, dhyanam, etc. The results of that will be known
in one's life without being told verbally by HIM as HE does not leave HIS true devotees without HIS blessings.

God's presense can be realised and cannot be seen as we realise the taste of food, the burning sensation when we get burns. God has to be realised through all the five senses.

All of us have five senses which every one knows viz. taste, touch, sight, hearing and smell.
These senses enable everyone to experience the Universe and facilitates to engage with
one another. Because of the gift of God, through these senses, one is able to
understand and appreciate the splendor and beauty of the Universe. It is these senses
that make our life sometimes embarrassed with ambition and anxiety, jealousy, etc and perhaps
dwell into continuous enhancement by way of our acquiring wealth, property, physical
pleasures, etc. As a result, the life of a person continuously gets enhanced and shaped
in different forms through the sensory experiences and the knowledge/information one gains
from the Universe. It also enables one to glamor for a unique place in the Universe.
But people forget there are other ways too, i.e. a person can rise in life only through hard
and sincere effort of prayer, meditation, etc to the higher stages of spiritual evolution.
A person has a capacity to control his will power, evil thoughts and bad ideas that crops
up in one's mind from time to time. That is why, it is said that the birth of a human being is
considered a rare gift from the God than the animals. If a person has absolute faith in the God,
he/she will be much happier in life. Generally, it is mentioned that life is a jungle, where one finds
umpteen dry wood, worms, insects, etc, which we read from Baba's quotes. To go in depth, it can be
amplified as one's head is full of evil thoughts, ears hear only unwanted things instead of Bhagawan
Namas, the mind always look for crooked things, some mind look for various ideas to pursue a plan
to cheat or rob others, etc. If one has to get away from all these ill deeds, one has to have a good
and proper education i.e. spiritual education from a Guru. A person has to have a clear idea about
shaping his destiny through honest methods and possessing appreciable integrity besides an
unrelenting effort towards attaining God's bliss. Hence if a person spends at least a few hours
or minutes in a day spending about the good thoughts of God or chanting Namasmaran of God,
he/she will be free from all evil routes and have a clear destiny. Further, everyone before starting
the day's work, has to spend at-least sometime towards prayer or meditation according to one's
convenience and also before going to bed, if one is not able to visit a temple ora holy place chant
His name and meditating on HIM. This activity would make a persona real devotee in the course
of time further directing him/her towards the true path.

Illness is caused more by malnutrition of the mind than of the body. As doctors speak of vitamin deficiency, I will present the root-cause in similar lines as ‘Deficiency of Vitamin G’. To cure this, I will recommend the repetition of any Name of God, along with contemplation of His Glory and Grace of God. That is the medicine to overcome the Vitamin G deficiency. Regulated life and habits are two-thirds of the treatment while medicine contributes to one-third. Every one of you must reveal the qualities of love, humility, detachment and contentment through all your actions. When your mind is unattached to the ups and downs of life, but is able to maintain equanimity under all circumstances, your physical health will be excellent.

On Sunday mornings I deliver 35-40 newspapers in my neighbourhood. These are morning papers, so I have to deliver them before 8 a.m. But Sunday, February 15, 1987, was an extremely cold morning. The temperature was 23 degree Celsius. There was also a chill wind, which made the temperature seem even worse. As usual, I started out with my load of newspapers in a shopping cart accompanied by my pet dog, Snowball. Snowball is fluffy, white Samoyed, an Arctic breed. But the weather was so cruel that I thought even my Arctic companion was not enjoying the walk. His breath was freezing on his whiskers and I had some fun breaking them off.
Very soon the fun ended as the cold began piercing through my padded coat and gloves. Since I was pushing the metal bar of the shopping cart, I felt more cold in my fingers and they began to hurt. Rather carelessly I had worn my thin gloves instead of the thick ones. I could have turned back and gone home for the second pair of gloves, but foolishly I did not and continued on my round.
I was about half way through my route when the pain in my fingers became unbearable. I feared my fingers could get frostbite. I thought of returning, but I would have had to walk the same distance back! Also, the papers had to be delivered before 8 a.m. and I was running out of time. I felt like crying. I wished my father or mother would drive by so that I could get a ride. I wished I had the other pair of gloves so that I could save my fingers. All the while, I was praying to Baba to somehow help me. But nothing seemed to work.
I realized that it was impossible to continue any further. Reluctantly, I decided to return home. I thought, I would deliver one last paper that was in my hand and then return home. I was about to walk up to a house to deliver that paper, when, lo and behold, barely a few feet from where I stood, I saw a pair of beautiful jet-black gloves! I jumped with joy!
Then I thought; if they had been lying there overnight they would be frozen stiff and could be useless. Anyway I picked them up. To my utter surprise, I found they were not frozen! In fact, they were as though they had just been dropped there! I wore them over my gloves and they fitted me perfectly!
I looked around to see whether there was anyone who could have accidentally dropped them there. But the street was deserted. The neighbourhood was still asleep on that cold Sunday morning. Who could have walked through there so early in the morning, I wondered. In any case, anyone accidentally dropping the gloves in that weather would at once miss them! It was so very cold!
I said, "Thank You Baba!” finished my paper route and returned home to get ready to attend my Bal Vikas class.
(In August 1986, I had accompanied my parents to Puttaparthi. On the third and final day of our visit, during the morning darshan Baba had come to where my mother and I were sitting, had materialized Vibhuti and put it in my mother's palm and on my forehead. Now I know what He meant when He gave me that Vibhuti! )
