You should be grateful to your parents. They gave you the body and fostered the intelligence and love that are embedded in it – so gratitude is their due. Everyday they pray for your health and wellbeing; they pray that you earn a good name. If you do not honour them who are your living Gods, how can you learn to honour the Almighty, the Creator of all? Parents are the ones that reveal to you the glory of God and the means of worshipping Him. They are the first representatives of authority a child meets, the authority executed through love and care. Learn to submit yourselves to them and you will learn how to submit to the Lord. You must conduct and behave in a manner that your parents are happy. That is your duty and it is only when you fulfill this duty, you are blessed by God.

To be very precise, God holds the parent-children relation in high esteem and no
one will have words to explain. They become the first teacher to educate a child
and show the path to the outer world. Worshiping God plays the second role
before the parents to a child. Parents blessings are inescapable to get the blessing
of the God. One knows the troubles that a parent takes to bring up a child in
various phases. In spite of their personal, economic or financial problems, including
the disabled parent, no parent puts forth their weaknesses to the children, assuming
that the same may disturb the mental stature of the child in his/her growth. One
has to remember that the children learn many things from their parents only in their
life, whether it is good or bad. Therefore, it is the duty of every child to love their
parents, respect them, help them whenever required, while maintaining good attitude
towards them. One should never annoy them even if the reason or purpose is not
reflecting sound, threaten or hurt them besides behaving in a disrespectful way.
If the parent is not living with the son or the daughter, it is the children's
responsibility to visit them as often as possible and take care of them. In fact
a parent should take the grand children too with them to show them the grand parents.
Otherwise one may regret of their failure in the Karma, once they are no more. One should
be grateful to the parents, irrespective of the fact of their position or status in life.

If one dedicates himself/herself in the path of devotion, one can feel
safe as a friend of God, to attain his bliss. For this, only when one
is able to bring the image of HIM, the relationship like Guru-Sikshya
can emerge.

Lord Krishna inspired the heart of Lord Brahma and mentioned to him -
"I am the embodiment of all tattva-jnana, tattva-vijnana and all love
and affection" The present form of mine only was present before the
Creator and that form only exists even now; and later, after the
destruction of everything material, only I will exist."

If one worships or prays dedicated, understanding emerges in the
heart by pure inspiration. Love is automatically developed towards
God in different forms.

Shanta bhava - Loving God as a Supreme Power or a Governor
Dasya bhava - Loving HIM as a Master
Sakhya bhava - Loving HIM as a close friend
Vatsalya bhava - In the form of a Child with full love and affection
Madhurya bhava - as a beloved person

Bakthi Sadhana and Devotional practices vary but Bakthi Sinchana
has to be firm and constant. Through the dedicated worship, feeling
of closeness automatically develops and paves for intimacy through
inspiration towards HIM. In fact, HE inspires the devotee to think of
HIM and talk about HIM wherever the devotee is.

Normally, parents tell the children at home, that if something is done wrong,
not obeyed, etc. Ummachi (God) would punish them. With the result, the
children might have an apprehension and will start believing it and do the write
things. Sometimes, the parents tell them that the Ummachi is overseeing their
activities. This type of soft words make the children to do the correct things,
give them a feeling that they would be able to attain their desirous things through
sincere prayer and dedication to God. With the result, the child decides to take
the blessings of the God before doing anything. One can notice that some children
speak to the God themselves without any outsider's interference at times. Parents
also tell the children that if they do any mistakes, God will forgive, if they accept
the same and tell the truth. This makes the children, most of the time, that they
accept the mistake and tell the truth voluntarily. If the children are given some unusual
gift or any loved eatables, and advise them that the same is God's Gift or prasadam,
which in turn makes them to have love and affection besides faith & belief towards
God. Some parents tell the children daily morning to stand before the God and chant
small small Slokas and ask them to close the eyes and pray. This habit gives them
a great amount of energy in them and energizes the children with spiritual feeling and
guidance. This type of routine practice tempts them to voluntarily do prayers daily
by turning to God to seek the blessings of God for their better performance in the School
or any other assignment.

"Aaspathreelu, doctorlu, mandulu... emi akkara ledu” hospitals, doctors, medicines... no need for any of them. "Oka naadu, Nenu, tak tak tak! anni sari chesthanu." One day, tak, tak, tak. Like that, I shall set right everything.” Baba told me thus, snapping His fingers to produce the sound, tak... tak... tak, when He spoke. I was overwhelmed with joy and thankfulness; for, just imagine what He was promising to set right.
My wife was suffering since three years from acute osteomalacia, with pathological fractures of the pelvic bones. The doctors were sure about that; many experts had examined the patient with great care. They had told me that prolonged stay in bed and persistent treatment might be able to give some relief. They told me it was due to the absorption of the osseous substance of the bones, which causes, as in my wife's case, softening and rarefaction, followed by spontaneous fracture. She was emaciated and exhausted, the pelvic bones were affected much, becoming triradiated and weak. The spine was paining badly and the doctors said, she will be bed-ridden for years and her limbs will become shortened and useless. Opiates and drugs to dull the pain were the only medicines that could be given, besides various costly experimental palliatives.

What a terrible life for a poor middle class family with five children and the breadwinner holding a Government job, requiring frequent long journeys! I was hit very hard by this calamity. No one held out the slightest hope. Baba was my only refuge, some good friend said. I came to Puttaparthi. I was called in by Baba and this was what He said! Now, you know why she was so full of joy and thankfulness.
Well, I returned home to Besagarahalli, in Mandya District. Three months passed and there was no improvement in her physical condition; in fact, she became worse; my faith in Baba began wavering. My home was a cell of pain and grief. Without regular food and sleep, racked by pain and worry, my wife became a shadow of her former self. Baba's words were her only solace. She and I held on to them, in spite of all the whisperings of despair.

I awoke one morning rather early, because I had to leave for a distant village on Government work. I was surprised to find a lamp burning in the kitchen. When I asked, “Who is there?" it was my wife who replied. Yes; she had lit the fire and... would you believe it? She was preparing coffee for me!!
She said, she had a dream; or, was it a dream? Baba had come to her bedside and ordered her to get up, come down from the cot and do Namaskaram to Him! And, she had obeyed! While she was at His Feet, Baba, with many a consoling word, patted gently on the diseased joints... she could hear the sound the bones made inside her... Tak, Tak, Tak! She had become quite alright. "Anni sari chesthanu", He had said. He had kept His Word! When she looked up, after a while, with tears of gratitude in her eyes, the Lord had disappeared. To the great amazement of all of us, and the doctors who had shaken their heads whenever her recovery was mentioned, she has started from that very day her daily routine of work, as if nothing at all had happened to her.

The bone specialist who had studied the X-ray photographs of my wife was informed of this miraculous overnight cure. He declared, “During my five years of stay abroad, I could not see a single case of osteomalacia cured, among the several which I treated. It is beyond the ken of a human physician. God has blessed you!” Nothing is impossible for Baba. What He says happens.

Shri Anjaneya is an exemplary disciple of Lord Rama, rather a symbol of devotion
and dedication. In fact, it is learnt from Puranas, that Shri Anjaneya is an Avatar
of Lord Shiva. Once to a query from Lord Rama, Shri Anjaneya mentioned that
HE identifies himself only with his body and HE is always the servant of Lord Rama.
Further, Shri Anjaneya is an example for mental strength, truthfulness, sincerety
self-sacrifice, loyalty, etc. God does not ask any thing from anyone. One should
be truthful to HIM in the prayer/worship with dedicated devotion to seek HIS
blessing. Shri Anjaneya's avatar is an example to everyone for sincere worship.

Janmashtami is the sacred day which marks the auspicious arrival of the Advent of the Formless, Nameless, and Timeless Absolute into a Living and Loving Form. The Divine appeared as Krishna to charm humanity through His pranks, His play, His song and sweetness and to instruct mankind through His teachings and grace. What one has to do on this auspicious day is to dwell on the elevating thoughts centering round the Lord in this form and take the first or further steps in the spiritual path. Use such sacred days as starting points for propitiating the Form of Godhead which you have chosen for offering homage, the Form which appeals to your innermost yearnings. One normally sees a plant grow. Even that has some discipline in its growth,
for example only good seed gets life provided it has a good soil with a pure
environment, etc. Like that, human being too must absorb only good thoughts,
good deeds, etc. One should not live a life just like that for the purpose of
living only. Environment may influence many things, may be sometime scintillating.
One should not take the destiny or fate as a matter of routine in one's life,
though the Karma is on the one side. Sometimes, one gets a chance or an
opportunity in one's life even in the midst of difficulties or problems. But one
should have a clear vision. Challenges only make the life interesting and valuable.
Life becomes meaningful if one overcomes that by good deeds, prayer, worship,
meditation, etc. with the association of good Satsang.

Dear Bhagawan,

Why when I know You are not the body.. I still miss Your Presence?
I know You havent "Left" but why do I still yearn for You..
Have I failed You by not understanding what life is all about be it a mere mortal or an Avatar like You.
When I recollect everything its as if it was just yesterday I knew You even though its has been 33 years since I took Your name at the tender age of 8.
I seem to have lost track of time..or is thats how its supposed to be?

What have I learnt?..I ask myself?
You have led a life for all us till Your very last breath..
You were the shade when we needed Your caring embrace..
Did I fail You I wonder?
Why do I still feel this void which nothing can replace?

You came with Your(God) made body and even that You left behind..
What looked apparently "Real" was only transient..was it Real or Unreal?I dont know..
If even Your Body was discarded finally, how long do I expect any man made structure to last?
Do I have to look to You(God) in an image or idol or in a temple anymore?
Is it time for me to look Within? Is that what You came to tell me?

Why did I spend my time complaining at times for what seemed minor now..
Why did I have anger? Why did I have sorrow? Why did I have preferences?
Its makes my heart bleed now to wonder why I never realized this earlier.
Why didnt I realize this when You were around?
Now when You are "gone"...You made me realize that there was nothing worth even lamenting...All I know Baba..I will never fail You anymore..

Hi Ms Renu,

Great to learn about your quest for Sai Bhagwan ! Still you need more and more about information even after 38 years.

You are learned one to understand the whole manifest-ion of Almighty but the truth is far away, why?

You need not to confuse but to concentrate of Almighty form who is like ocean. He is so beautiful, so blissful and so caring that you need not to go any where. All our quests stop here. You can liberate yourself from here once you know his manifestations.

Bhagawan Baba's Message - 12 Aug 2012

Quote :

Why waste precious time in scandalous talk and criticisms of others' behaviour? Cultivating envy, malice, hatred and anger against others is an evil pastime that recoils on oneself. In every one there is resident the self-same divine spark; so cavilling at the neighbour is tantamount to cavilling at Divinity. The game of life is worth playing and becomes interesting only when there are bounds and rules which limit and control. Imagine a game of football without any rules or boundaries – it will be chaos; it will be a free fight, a riot. No one can say who wins and how. The path of virtuous conduct (Dharma maarga) is the boundary of the field, in the game of life. Play the game, paying heed to the warnings of ‘foul’ and ‘out’, and let your virtues win over the vicious tendencies within you.

Unquote:

Hinduism gives an an ample explanation about Dharma as the natural universal law, by
the observance of which, it enables all human being to be satisfied and happy. It also
enables a person to save himself/herself from his/her degradation and suffering. Dharma
can also be said as a moral law combined with spiritual discipline, which guides a person's
life. In fact it is considered as the foundation of life for all the Hindus. It can be described
as the basic law to confine the people of this world if one wants to lead a contented straight
forward life. It is also said in our ancient puranas without upholding Dharma, things cannot
exist. Dharma, strictly speaking, refers to the religious ethics, as propounded by our ancient
Hindu Gurus in our ancient Indian scriptures. To attain or achieve good karma it is imperative
to lead and live a life strictly in accordance with dharma, what is said as right in our scriptures.
This exercise involves performing what is deemed right for an individual, the family, etc.
In some of the ancient literatures, it is mentioned that if one does not follow Dharma,
which is in other words interpreted as like a cosmic norm and if one fails or goes against that
norm it can reflect bad result or lead to bad karma. Therefore, one should strictly follow
Dharma principles without any deviation. In fact, in our literatures and Puranas, it has been
clearly mentioned that people who have done mistakes in their past life, suffer in the present
generation. Therefore, it can be concluded that Dharma affects one's future in accordance
with the the karma accumulated. Hence, one's Dharmic Path is absolutely essential
to have a prospective result in the next generation, leaving out the past karma deeds. Further,
one can interpret that anything that helps human being to reach God or attain HIS bliss is
only Dharma and anything that creates hindrance to the human being from reaching God is
termed as adharma. Therefore, everyone must strictly follow and adopt only Dharmic
concepts in the life to attain the bliss of God.

Schooling is not merely for food and delight, for earning a living and to enjoy leisure. Its true purpose should be to activate the qualities of wisdom in action, non-attachment and discriminatory power (Viveka, Vairaagya and Vichakshana). The root is education and the fruit should be virtues. Every school must shape its students into citizens, worthy of the country’s precious heritage and spiritual wealth. Otherwise, all schooling is a waste of time and money. Schools are the temples of the Goddess of Wisdom who grants to each child the wisdom to grasp the Ultimate Truth and acquire knowledge that will dispel ignorance for ever. The school must facilitate this and ensure stability in all the students to practice the virtues of Truth, Righteousness and Peace, through the blossoming of Love.

We have certain guidelines in our Indian Culture with regard to paying respects
and attending to them in our day to day life, particularly when they reach the old age.
One normally do not call them by name. Normally one tries to listen to them with patience
whether there is a logic or reasoning. One extends all help such as physical or monetary.
Children are taught to be very polite before elders and entertain them whenever possible
so that they do not feel lonely, while evincing keen interest in their physical status and
mental agony, etc.

 1. Respecting elders and parents is one of the foremost principles of Indian culture.
 2. In some books, it is mentioned that even Lord Krishna used to prostrate before his elders, however bad they may be…
 3. Further, we have also read in the book that the Saptarishis always speak the truth.
 4. Whatever they speak becomes true. That is why, it is said that in our houses, we should not get bad name.
 5. That is, we should not get from the elders, particularly their Sabam..
As we enter the house, we should first pay respect to the elders and enquire others.
Similarly, when one leaves from the house, one should not forget to take leave from the elders of that house.
When some friends visit our house, one should not forget to introduce them to the elders."

We must find out from the former generations what their fathers taught, as we are
born only yesterday and may not know anything.
One should assume that one is never
too old to learn something important from one’s elders. In fact, they are the mentors in
many aspects, particularly with regard to religious and spiritual aspects. Therefore,
neglecting them is not at all advisable. Secondly, if they are not happy, one will not
have peace and would not allow the mind to do spiritual practice or concentrate in
prayer or meditation, etc.

If the mind is immersed in bliss, the body will not suffer from illness. The human body is the vehicle which you have to use for attaining the state of bliss, and so it has to be kept safe and strong for that noble purpose. It is an instrument for spiritual effort, which has been earned by the merit of previous births. Every moment, the body is speedily proceeding towards dissolution, and so time should not be wasted in vain pursuits. Do not get attached to the body; treat it as a wound, which has to be covered by bandage (clothes), treated with drugs (food) and also washed regularly. Then you can get rid of the inordinate attachment, and this is essential because only then will you get the true urge and inspiration to serve others!

One can notice in this Universe that a person becomes too possessive
at some point of time or other about a particular item/object/person.
One can also notice this particularly with the children, who may not
allow other children to touch the toys. Sometimes it leads to jealousy
and misunderstanding. Hence, one should not allow this to become an
addiction in life. To be precise, one does not bring any thing when a
person takes birth in this world, to take it back when the mortal body
leaves the Universe. Sometimes one can find possessiveness amongst
the family members too at various occasions mainly with regard to property
or assets of their elders, when they depart once for all. It can also be
due to various other factors such as. insecurity in life, lack of confidence
or faith, lack of self confidence and jealousy. In fact one should utilise
the physical body to attain the bliss through spiritual activities instead of
getting attached to unwanted things. If one pursues this in the right
spirit, there is no question of sorrow or happiness.
