A sparrow laid her eggs on the shore of the ocean, but the big ocean carried away the eggs on its waves. The sparrow became very upset and asked the ocean to return her eggs. The ocean did not even consider her appeal. So the sparrow decided to dry up the ocean. She began to pick out the water in her small beak, and everyone laughed at her for her impossible determination. The news of her activity spread, and at last Garuda, the gigantic bird carrier of Lord Vishnu, heard it. He became compassionate toward his small sister bird, and so he came to see the sparrow. Garuda was very pleased by the determination of the small sparrow, and he promised to help. Thus Garuda at once asked the ocean to return her eggs lest he himself take up the work of the sparrow. The ocean was frightened at this, and returned the eggs. Thus the sparrow became happy by the grace of Garuda.

Similarly, the practice of yoga, especially bhakti-yoga in Krishna consciousness, may appear to be a very difficult job. But if anyone follows the principles with great determination, the Lord will surely help, for God helps those who help themselves.

Following a dream of Sai Baba asking me to once again visit Prasanthi Nilayam, my parents and I arrived in Puttaparthi and we immediately started to settle in our rooms...
A kind gentleman had helped me to get my luggage into the residence and then left.
The room was perfect I felt, simple and clean. However, I needed to move my suitcase as I did not like the spot it was placed in. There was a beautiful little black Beatle type of insect slowly walking around which gave me so much joy, and I was concerned that the bag may hurt it when I tried to access my clothes.
Naturally, I went to move the suitcase, but as I did, I put my leg down on the floor and felt something underneath my knee...
I had unfortunately placed my knee over the beautiful insect and severely hurt it with my weight. The Divine child was struggling to move and blood was pouring out of it. My heart shattered! How can this be? I was trying to be careful, due to this beautiful insect's life being so tiny and fragile and all along my thoughts were constantly on Baba, yet this lovely insect had been severely hurt by my own body. ...As I was reflecting on this, feeling hurt and sad for the creature, the insect stopped struggling for life, it stopped moving its legs and passed away...
My heart melted just as quickly as its life did. My immediate response was an emotional prayer to our Divine Father, Sathya Sai Baba: "Father how is it that You have brought me here and how is it that in Your Divine presence such a dramatic event of taking a life has happened, when Your love and Your devotee's love is all around us? Father, contemplating on the pain this Divine child must have felt is heartbreaking! Please Father, do something at Your Will."
As soon as I finished praying, the blood that had poured out of the insect started to go back into it! It was like witnessing a video in reverse! Not one bit of blood was left on the floor! As this was happening, the semi-squashed body of the insect was being filled up, like inflating a flat tyre back to its full shape! Within about 15 seconds the insect was back to its healthy form and running around in full glory!
Praise Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba! Pure Love! All are One! As Father said to Son: "Be alike to all, My son!"
Witnessing this miracle also immediately took away my disheartenment and instead joy was replaced within my heart. I remembered how Sai Baba had said "I remove tears of sorrow and replace them with tears of joy!” - Indeed, You do, Father!
The next morning, I got out of bed, and the insect was following me around. Whichever direction I went in, it followed me. - If I sat or stood still, it started to walk in small circles and then sit in one place, looking directly at me. I asked it: "What do you want my friend"? And then with strong intuition, I thought it probably wanted darshan of Baba (as I had been carrying a photograph of Sai Baba in my hand and looking at it). So, I showed the picture of Sai Baba to the insect. After a pause of holding the picture to it for about 5 seconds it turned around and sprinted away in a gush of joyful excitement!
God is for ALL creatures!!!
"There is no human being without love. Even beasts, birds, animals and insects have love. This love is experienced in even in the smallest of creatures. We should have deep conviction that God is present in every being in the form of the Atma – consciousness." - Sri Sathya Sai

Krishna declared in the Bhagavad Gita, “Mamaivamsho jivaloke jivabhuta sanathana (Every being is an aspect of My Divinity).” When God considers you as part of Himself, you should also consider others as your own self. Love All, Serve All. See no difference between individuals; do not think of one as a pauper and the other a millionaire. Many millionaires today are engaged in filling their own belly. They are not prepared to give even a morsel of food as alms to a beggar who stands at their doorstep. What is the use of having such rich men in our country? They are rich only for name’s sake but in reality they are the poorest of the poor. Pursue the path of charity and righteousness. Consider others as your own brothers and sisters. Rather, consider them as thyself.

Each and every one of you has a great deal of concentration. For, every task requires concentration and every one of you have benefitted from it. The carpenter, the weaver, the clerk, the boatman, the scientist, all have it, greater or lesser, and use it in their daily lives. You must learn to apply it towards your own mind also. Direct the mind towards its own working, examine it and train it to restrict itself to good company, good thoughts and good deeds. Practise meditation on any Form of the Lord, and repeat any Name of the Lord, with the awareness of its sweetness. That will teach the mind to be sharp, and produce good music out of the joys as well as the grief that are incidental to life.

Nama Sangeerthana is an effective method of devotion, wherein
one gets concentration and dedication. Nama Sangeerthan is nothing
but singing God's Nama with full love and faith. Sometimes, the
devotees are thrilled with divine emotion. He/She loses himself/
herself in the love of God. One can feel changes in the body of such
persons. Some people weep in the middle while thinking glory of the
God. In some, one can find voice getting chocked and he/she flies into
a state of divine bhava. Nama Sangeerthan is one of the modes for
expression of Bhakthi. Great divine persons like Narada, Valmiki,
Tulasidas and Surdas, etc have all attained the bliss of the God only
through Kirtana or Nama Sangeerthana Bhakthi alone. Nama Sangeerthanam
not only gives pleasure to the mind and at the same time, it purifies the
heart also. Thus it has a double effect.

Conceit or egoism is a fatal weakness. It is the desire to be praised, to be talked about. People take delight in tom-tomming their achievements and capabilities. This actually makes them ludicrous and pitiable. They want their names and deeds to appear in the daily newspapers in big bold letters. Please understand, it is not in the newspapers that you should get attention. Earn your status in the realm of God. Earn fame in the company of the good and godly. If you are forever in the primary class working on A, B, C and other alphabets, how can you understand what the scholars say? Make progress in being humble and in showing reverence towards elders and parents.

First fall in love with the sweetness…simpleness, and goodness of God. Then the transformation of the heart comes to you without the strain of effort. It is like climbing a tree that is laden with the sweetest fruits.

Some call it pride or arrogance too. One may have conceit or one may find himself
or herself important or he/she may appear to be jealousy at times. Suppose if
someone desires to eliminate conceit, he or she has to develop a method and must
know the characteristics of conceit like self praise, haughtiness, etc. The mind
has to be controlled in a fashion by the eradication of conceit, to defeat the evil ones.
If a person is free from conceit, he or she can approach anyone with due respect.
There is a quote to eliminate the basic issue of conceit is to respect and regard the
elders like sisters, brothers, besides parents, teachers, etc.

Bhagavan in Dharmakshethra.)
Sai Ram.
Few months ago I had posted a story of Swami visiting the Central Jail, in Thane, (Maharashtra).
The next day morning, few of the devotees from Thane Sai Center, were waiting outside Sathya Deep, Dharmakshethra. We were waiting for the emergence of Bhagavan Baba from Divine Residence.
Soon Bhagavan gave joy to all of us by appearing outside Sathya Deep. Swami walked towards us and spoke and blessed also.
In this black and white photo, Swami is seen standing outside Sathya Deep, Dharmakshethra, Mumbai.

The words in this video come from a Sai Baba message given to Sai devotee, Charles Penn in 1979. This message is both instructive and uplifting.
SOULJOURNS - THE STORY BEHIND A MOST BEAUTIFUL 9 MINUTE SAI BABA VIDEO, THANKS TO STUART & NICKY on Vimeo

Nicky and Stuart live in a small cottage in Wales. Nicky is the singer in this recording and Stuart created the music. Tens of thousands of people have already seen this and it is hoped that Souljourns can carry this important message and musical and photo accompaniment to even more individuals.

The story of how and when the video was created begins this presentation, followed by Stuart and Nicky's 9 minute musical tribute. The Baba message which this video is built around can be found in Charles Penn's book, My Beloved..

Welcome to Souljourns. Our address is [email protected] or you can reach us by commenting below.

LOVE ALL ~ SERVE ALL

The Lord is the In-dweller in all beings and is All Pervading. He is the soul in every being. He is in you as much as He in everyone else. He is not present more in a rich person or bigger in a fat person. His spark illumines the cave of the heart, of every one. The Sun shines equally on all; His Grace is falling equally on all. You construct obstacles that prevent the rays of His Grace from touching and warming your heart. Do not blame the Lord for your ignorance or foolishness or perversity. Just as underground water wells up in a gushy spring when a bore is sunk down to that depth, by constant repetition of the Lord’s Name, touch the spring of Divinity, and one day, it will gush out in plenty giving you never ending joy.

Some are interested in momentary happiness and a promising future
in life. However such temporary pleasures and joy live only for a moment,
or a few years because a new one crops up. Because, on attaining one,
the mind starts thinking about the next one and starts searching. But our
hearts do not take us in the right path, at times, to deviate from temporary
pleasures, which is not a lasting one. The pleasures that we attain do not
last for a long a time, whereas the pleasure that we derive through Supreme
Power will produce unending joy and happiness. Our thinking is always
typical. Because one has many thoughts, motives, and desires, etc. One
should not give room to emotional values always.

When some of you visit a temple or a holy shrine, even as you participate in the worship, your thoughts are about the safety of your footwear that you left outside. You will not get joy or liberation by merely going to a holy place. You will not get the joy even through darshan, sparshan and sambhashan - seeing Him, touching Him and conversing with Him. You must follow the prescription and act in accordance with the Divine Directions. Earnestly and enthusiastically, take the path shown by the great devotees of the Lord. You must feel inseparable affinity with the Lord, just as the wave is inseparable from the sea. Butter is imminent in milk and is invisible. So too, Divinity is present in every being and will manifest from within.

Every phase of our life is entirely different and are not akin.
Spirituality brings a new experience if adopted by a person.
If practiced, it embodies a clear vision and urges the mind
to proceed on the right path towards a dedicated goal. Human
consciousness is not that easy to mend, unless and until it
is mend to seek the presence of divine power. If the divine
energy is registered in the human mind, a person gets a
clear understanding of the true divinity. It appears initially
before one practices spirituality, the route becomes unclear. Once the
door of spirituality is accessible, energies can be generatedand right
approach can be made and one can understand the reality.

There's a very nice book by Smt. Karunamba Ramamurthy ( i.e. Kannamma) , entitled :
' Sri Sathya Sai Anandadayi, Journey with Sai '

... which is basically a compilation of all her various Notes , which she made in her diary starting in 1944.

If you read Chaper 9, its amazing ! ...
She has told what Beloved Swami said in late 1940's to some assembled devotees ...near or in the old temple as follows:
' The present Avatar will last for 96 years, and, after a gap of one year, Prema Sai Avatar will assume human body and last for 75 years. ...

In the present yuga, the tenth Avatar, Kalki, has split into three aspects as the forms of Shirdi Sai, Sathya Sai, and Prema Sai.

This has not happened before and can be seen only in this Kali yuga. Sai Avatars have not taken place in earlier Kali yugas, nor will they take place in future Kali yugas.

During Shirdi Avatar, I was preparing the food ...

In Sathya Sai Avatar, I am serving the food.

In Prema Sai Avatar, everyone will enjoy the fruits of the divine meal. '

SAIRAM

Life is a pilgrimage to God and the path lies before you. But, unless you take the first step forward and follow it with succeeding steps, how can you reach it? Start with courage, faith, joy and steadiness, you will certainly succeed. The mind and the intellect are like two bullocks tied to a cart. The bullocks are not used to the road of Truth, Righteousness, Peace and Love, and so they drag the cart along the road familiar to them, namely, falsehood, injustice, worry and hatred. You have to train the bullocks to tread the right path, so that they may not bring disaster to themselves and to others. Every object or being in the world will give both pleasure and pain. Control and train your mind to see this real nature of the objective world. That is the real fruit of education.
