Rationale does not give way to compassion... it is the nature of the individual. We cannot change the nature of the mind easily, unless by the karmic way. So your saying that man always works up a rationale first, based on which the mind works does not, IMO, hold water.

The mind acts based on its nature, which it has imbibed through its karma, which is again a combination of Sathwam, Rajas or Thamas. The rationale comes later. Later, it is becomes a force of habit.

He probably connected the rajasic/thamasic nature of the dalits which would influence the positive vibes in the temple.

The materialistic education is something different, a lure in kali yuga.

In the same way, why don't you ask your God man to do his miracles in fraud proof conditions.

This is what I am saying too. Whether deliberate or instinctive, all of people's actions cannot be traced back to just caste or just this or just that. If one's bad acts can be traced to caste, that does not mean we must necessarily trace any of his good acts to caste as well.

It is in this respect we need to analyze what motivates one to act in particular ways, deliberate or instinctive acts. The good acts such as compassion, justice, honesty, etc. fall under "samanya" darma that is common to all. A Shudra is supposed to act with compassion and honesty just as mush as a Brahmana. So, it is not the caste system that is at the root of good behavior.

Over and above these common darma, the Varna system imposes special darma for each varna. It is this special darma that leads to discriminatory and oppressive behavior. You can see the effects of this both in theory like the Dharma Shahsthras, and practice in Brahminical institutions.

So, your position that if bad acts are traced to caste, then caste must be credited for good acts also is untenable.

Why does everyone want God to solve all our problems when we are the ones who cause it in the first place..
If God can solve everything by a swirl of his hand ala Rajini style..why do we even need a brain..?

• did the movement of Lord Vishnus Sudarshan Cakra solve the current world problem?
• did the Trishool of Lord Shiva solve the world problem?
• did the Ganga on Lord Shivas head prevent drought in the world?
• did all the Goddesess nourish dying children in Africa?
• my list can go on...

what i am trying to say is..Karmic cycle is our own...Paramatma is just the eternal witness..

rvr ,see worships mahaswamigal of kanchi only and does not know how to go beyond that,its a limitation he likes to uphold.the very same kanchi kamakoti peedha adhipadhi recently participated in puttaparthi showing unity as the foundation amongst gurus.but then sishyas thinking are warped,which is understandable.its not bhagavan sathya sai baba who is facing murder charges in court,but kanchi kamakoti acharyas are.so,this whiny miny mo will happen.

This is a different issue altogether; what we see as oppression is nothing but a corrupted form of the varna dharma. It has been grossly misutilised for ulteriour purposes, thus dealing a body blow to the system. But all is not lost.

So, your position that if bad acts are traced to caste, then caste must be credited for good acts also is untenable.

As stated above, then, the stand that caste makes a person discriminate is also untenable.

Coming to the godmen who give vibhuthi by swirling their palms, and lingams by retching/regurgitating... I think, currency notes would be an apt change which would be much liked by the devotees. Only thing, if it has to come from the mouth, it better be gold coins; some may not prefer plain coins for washing off the saliva that drips alongwith...

Once it is confirmed that a steady stream would be available, maybe India could do away with the currency minting machines....!

If the policemen and rulers makes a deal with Nityanandan, then there is no big case.

Rape or sexual intercourse is not a big offence as per Indian laws. On the contrary, if Nityanandan admits to the same and files a defamation case against Sun TV, he can claim huge compensation for intruding into his privacy.

Cheating is a criminal offence but it can be made light if a deal is struck between the concerned authorities. It is the police which has to file a case and the prosecution has to pursue it. The God man is estimated to possess more than Rs.1,000 crore asset and in all probability a deal will be struck at politician/police level to share the boot and then the case will be closed in due course.

As you rightly said, some drama will be enacted for public consumption.

It involves more moral and ethical issues than legal issues.

Only the motives behind whole episode has to be found out ultimately.

Nityanandan may be a sinner but Sun TV people are not saints.

Why Sun TV took up this exposure?

There are several God men belonging to all religions indulging in fraudulent activities but why Nityanandan was targeted?

Who funded Sun TV for this job? Is it people belonging to other religions or fellow God men who envy Nityanandan for his speedy growth or any other problem between rulers and Nityanandan?

I wish answers to my above doubt comes out in due course.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the two points conveyed are (i) rape is not not a big offense and (ii) sexual intercourse is not a big offense.

First, I don't understand why sexual intercourse is an offense at all, let alone a big offense? But that is not the astounding part. I am startled to note that rape is not a big offense per Indian laws. Really?

The only thing worse than rape is murder. Rape is not a sexual offense, it is a violent offense of the worst kind. I am really amazed that it is not a criminal offense per Indian law. Is this really the case? Can you confirm this RVR?

Too much Sattva also falls under Rajas..becos we tend to become judgemental..

anna..I will tell you something..when i was a bit younger i used to get disgusted when i see women misbehaving with man in an indecent manner..now i dont feel that way becos i feel i am no one to judge another..there is always a stop check sort of thinking in my mind..

now when i see such things i recently saw once when i was out shopping ..i was tempted to feel disgusted but i checked myself..a few questions came to my mind..

Is there God in her now?
my answer was Yes..

Do you think she is 100% bad?
My answer is No..she surely has some goodness in her too.

Then i just smiled at her and walked away..I felt so much better when i realized that I saw God even in an indecent act...

try thinking like me sometimes too...

wow....you really hold such a high regard for money...
even though i know money is needed for life and to a certain extent happiness...we are never going to take it when we die...

I am reminded so much of the story of a Rishi and his wife...I have forgotten his name..I think he was Yajnavalkya..
He was at the Vanaprastha stage of his life..and he was walking in the jungle with his wife walking behind him..
along the journey there were gems on the track..and he was afraid that his wife might get tempted and covered it with earth each time he saw a gem..
his wife asked him..Dear husband why are you still seeing difference between gems and sand...
He was shocked by this question..because it was him who had not gone beyond the pairs of opposites...
