Suicide by Mahadevan, husband of singer Nityashree

Within the next decade you can see this becoming common . With More Gun fights being visible in Tamil Movies , as well as violent Video Games showing Gun fights , young people will have a fascination for Guns and who bothers about license , Rich guys can always buy it from Black Market and not so rich guys can buy cheaper home made guns from Bihari Gangs .

Dear Sir,

Those who use Home made guns swear that it is better than commercial made ones.
Don't know why?

Once a Chinese student in my college got some air rifle from some local guy and he was shooting a dog inside his room cos he wanted to eat the dog(some Chinese eat dogs).

But with an air rifle you will only get a spray of pellets..so the dog did not die.
Air rifle is more suited to kill birds or squirrels but not dogs.

So after trying so hard finally that Chinese student hit the dog on the head with a hammer and killed it and cooked it!

BTW: Forensic Ballistics is a chapter in Forensic Medicine..so most doctors have a rough guide about the types of gun and bullets(in case anyone is wondering why I am writing about guns!LOL)

This IS the time when Smt. Nithyasree needs support. Even if tears don't appear in the eyes of a few people,

at least they can let others console
her! We do not have any right to do the 'postmortem' again! :nono:

Dear RR ji,

Well said and may the soul of Mr Mahadevan rest in peace.

The Epilogue

A sensitive mind is like a ball of U-236 (Uranium 236, the fissile material). As long as the sensitive mind has external events impinging on it with energy below the threshold it remains very creative. It produces excellent music or beautiful kavithai(like Valmiki) or a nice piece of art. When the threshold is crossed and the critical mass is reached it just explodes. Then it is all just destruction. This is the short story of a human mind which is very creative and yet is having the potential to become destructive. It is in the hands of the individual as well as the relatives, friends and others to keep it just at the creative level. It is sad that some times this just does not happen and we have this one more tragedy.

Cheers.

thats right. Some take it on themselves to decide who lacks support and what is right or good for them.
It is better if discussion is to happen, it happens on the event and not on an assumed consequence or imagined issues, when no one has the facts.
It is right to respect individual's privacy and feelings and leave them alone and not force it on them and tell them what they should be.
True feelings are not measured for its genuine-ness, neither are Tears a great measure of genuineness besides feelings need no reinforcement or acknowledgments.

Instead of discussing the reasons (not speculating) that could have pushed him to this extreme step, I see everyone rushing to console NSM and empathising. I am not saying this is not needed.
Were this to be a suicide of a women, the discussion would all be about the women and the causes that lead to it.
This site is no different in that aspect.

Dear Shri Ozone,

I fully agree with you. Actually I wanted to express the same view in my last post under this thread but, somehow, I could not get the appropriate words. But it seems to me as if some members here have taken the lead to champion the tragic bereavement of NS and to muzzle any kind of discussion on what drove the poor man to this extreme step. May be these people are in the know of things and they have some vested interests in this.

When I started the thread as a fan of her it was two fold:

1. To empathize with Smt Nityashree on this tragic happening in her family

2. To facilitate Smt Nityashree's return to Carnatic music at the earliest.

I feel there is no point in discussing about the couple's personal life.

Smt Nityashree has much more to contribute through her brilliance in music...We need the support of Rasikas for that.

Let us be different and one step above Page 3 gossip.

dear Mr. vagne,

If what people state here as hearsay is true, Nithyasree was the sole bread winner of the family.

Two daughters to be taken care of, educated and married away decently is a Himalayan task even when both parents are alive, working and earning.

When such a tragic thing happens delivering a bolt from the blue...

will the lady be able to sing in the public?

Will she be ale to present herself the way we have been seeing her in her concerts?

If she does, what sort of cruel criticism will be directed on her.

Men can wreck the lives of women while living and also by dying.

Troubles can be real or imaginary and get blown out of proportion.

Every problem has a solution - which need no necessarily be suicide or murder.

I knew that men think differently from women.

We feel the pathos while men want to know what can never be known as to what drove that man to this extreme step!

People say that it takes a lot of courage to commit suicide.
I think it takes greater courage to face the problems of life
and LIVE ON trying to sort them out/ solve them!!!

Dear Sir,

1. I think you can not expect any more posts to empathize with Smt. Nithyasree.

2. This may be possible only by her family and real friends and not through our forum!

So, I think you can request the moderator to close this thread to avoid further gossips.

One cant start a thread with a specific title and then expect or claim the contents of discussion to be different from what that implies.
The urgency and the determination with which some of them want to just dismiss the event as a flicker and get back to the business of entertaining themselves I feel are outright selfish, insensitive and callous to say the least but the attempt to put on 'nobler than thou' face is indeed baffling.
When nothing has been said, branding the discussion as 'further gossip' doesnt sound urbane but only cheap overpowering tactics.
I have nothing more to pen on this san noting my observations on what I see is happening out here.

One can smile and smile and smile ...and yet be a villain!

When you have nothing to say... say nothing!! :hand:

If anything goes without saying... :bolt:
let it go so without saying anything! :moony:

Happy families are all alike. Every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. I think it is gentleman like to respect her talents in her field and wish her well.

Shri Iyya,

I think you will agree that there is no 100% happy family and there is no 100% unhappy family.

In this case I am told that the Chennai papers are carrying a lot of news. It seems Smt NS is extremely rich and the jobless husband had, in the course of time, developed a lot of complexes and he used to depend on his mother for mental solace. Since the mother's demise, there was no one to whom he could turn for consolation. On the material date there was reportedly some serious quarrel between husband and wife after which the poor man just ended his life. Let us pray for solace (Shaanti) to the departed soul also.

Its ironic i note that sometime back tb girls were being blamed for being picky and one of the conditions they apparently put is the guy should earn more. And people here were saying they should marry a brahmin guy even if he is earning less. Seems like a lady has to not only marry down but also hide her ability to earn else the guy feels inadequate and then passes away. I'm just waiting for some to say Smt Nithyashree is at fault for becoming famous!!

Yes i too felt something like that was coming.
You do have to accept there was some problem in their marriage. Society in general has problem with men earning less than their wife.
There was a movie Abhiman:
When it was released, audiences found similarities between real-life couple Amitabh and Jaya and the couple they portrayed on-screen as Jaya's career was stronger than Amitabh's at the time.

I feel sorry for all concerned.

hi amala garu,

there is sanskrit proverb....KAANTHA ROOPAVATI SATRUHU.....means beautiful wife is enemy for men....in real life too...

too much fame/money is harmful for married life....many great celebraties has same problems....Abhiman is a nice hindi movie...

I loved Abhimaan and apparently its their real life story as well. I'm a huge Jaya Bhaduri fan and imho shes the best actor in her family (im including her DIL when i say family!). Mr B is all swagger and not much else personally again my opinion! I know im in the minority believing this :D.

But i digress.

According to author Raju Bharatan, Hrishikesh Mukherjee based the film's story on the life of singer Kishore Kumar and his first wife, Ruma Ghosh.

Yes TBS garu. I've heard of bharya roopavati shatru. But still i have a doubt. Ive heard men having a roving eye in spite of having pretty wives?! So?!

hi raghy sir,
i agreed with u.....but suicide is the not the sollution....infact its problem for others....if suicide is THE solution for every problem.....

then what?.....i agreed a lot of courage required....what abt 2 small kids?.....here thejasri is 8 yrs and danushasri is 7 yrs old....

we miss something in our present day life....moral/ethical life...more materialistic.....more problems.....some kind of vaue for LIFE...

NOW LIFE IS MORE STRESSFULL IN THE PRESENT DAY LIFE....whom to blame?...the society?....parents?....the spouse?......

the vidhi?....or poorva janma karma?.........the great fate or destiny of individual?....still wondering without answers...

Sri. TBS, Greetings.

I did not say committing suicide is a courageous act. All I said was, the idea gets meditated long and hard. When a person feels helpless and hopeless, he/she doesn't think about children or anyone else. A person doesn't become helpless/hopeless overnight. It takes a long time. He/she screams for help and attention in the meantime.

We miss the human touch nowadays. Human value gets diminished exponentially. Life is stressful all the time. But everyone develops their own coping strategies. Some don't develop such strategies.

If someone leads a sheldered life all the time, they don't cope very well to stressful situations. Unfortunately they become vulnerable to suicide ideations.

We can't blame anyone for this. We can't blame the man either.... he couldn't cope; went bye bye... But his near and dear would have known well about his intentions. I don't really believe in vidhi or poorva janma karma etc. All I can think is, he was not supported well enough.

Trouble is, people are afraid of failures. So what if one fails? I failed so many times. There were few things I could never succeed in life.. they all stayed as dreams.. if we also consider the possibility of failures, we always prepare a plan 'B'. It seems, this unfortunate gentleman did not prepare a plan 'B'...

Dear Amala,

I am no fan of Big B(finally someone else also thought the same).

I personally feel he is stereotype..plays the angry young man or some sensitive lover/husband/dad..that's all.

He comes no where near Kamal Hassan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Coming to Jaya B..I am no fan of her either..she is more for art movie types and I am no fan of art movies!LOL
