A Realty Show is being telecast by Zee Tamil channel titled 'SOLLUVATHELLAM UNMAI' every day from Monday thru Friday between 8.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m with a repeat telecast the following morning between 11.30 a.m. and 12.30 a.m.

In most of the episodes, the problem is due to consumption of 'SARAKKU'.

It is high time TN Govt. imposes prohibition and introduces permit system.

Sir,

Will the Government kill the goose that lays golden eggs in the interest of uplifting the lives of poor who voted to power???

I think public can be educated about the evils of drinking...One has to take precautions...The biggest downside is that the same persons will go and consume illicit liquor which will result in deaths..We can talk about having additional controls but controlling a habit is not the role of the Government

When people ave no respect for spiritual, religious and moral (say tirukkural) injunctions/laws, why one should respect government laws. Compliance has to achieved by different means.

hi

i agreed with u....in gujarat...the ONLY STATE IS STILL IN PROHIBITION.....i heard that SARAKKU still available in gujarat

and a lot of young students consuming daily......

Sir Winston Churchill was once asked about his position on whisky. Here’s how he answered:

“If you mean whisky, the devil’s brew, the poison scourge, the bloody monster that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the home, creates misery and poverty, literally takes the bread from the mouths of little children; If you mean that evil drink that topples men and women from the pinnacles of righteous and gracious living into the bottomless pit of degradation, shame, despair, helplessness and hopelessness, then, my friend, I am opposed to it with every fiber of my being.”

"However, if by whisky you mean the oil of conversation, the philosophic wine, the elixir of life, the ale that is consumed when good fellows get together, that puts a song in their hearts and the warm glow of contentment in their eyes;

if you mean good cheer, the stimulating sip that puts a little spring in the step of an elderly gentleman on a frosty morning;

if you mean that drink that enables man to magnify his joy, and to forget life’s great tragedies and heartbreaks and sorrow; if you mean that drink the sale of which pours into our treasuries untold millions of pounds each year, that provides tender care for our little crippled children, our blind, our deaf, our dumb, our pitifully aged and infirm, to build the finest highways, hospitals, universities, and community colleges in this nation… then my friend, I am absolutely, unequivocally in favor of it..!!!”

"This is my position, and as always, I refuse to compromise on matters of principle."

Somehow, the Government that rule Kerala State is reported to have plans to introduce prohibition and is taking measures slowly banning the bars which require guts.

There was a report that the aim was only to cancel licences and reissue to 'favoured', and this was achieved.
