Dear Sir,

Right now I have no maid cos foreign maids entry has been banned by some countries concerned.

So me and my husband have no choice but to do our own work.

But before I left to India last week I made sure I did my quota of housework and told my husband to only do his work and do not do mine during my absence.

So he only did his work and when I came back I finished up what ever I needed to do.

We have even boundaries and borders..like to which level he can mop/clean and which level I can mop/clean.
So both should not enter each others boundaries.

I have suggested this method to my parents but somehow it does not work well for my parents cos my mum feels only she knows how to do housework and all hell will break lose if mum and dad do housework together..so for them I made sure they got a part time maid who comes on weekly basis for major cleaning.

For me I am ok with whatever work my husband does at home.I do not strive for perfection.

My mum on the other hand strives for too much perfection in household matters!!LOL

Sharing of household chores pave way for a better understanding. The only problem is perfection. If either of them strive for perfection and find fault with other's work there starts the problem. If everybody follows your way of living I hope there is no chance of divorce in the world.

There is a practice in UK that people normally avoid shaking hands instead they
would touch the elbow with their elbow, with an intention to avoid infection and
contagious diseases. There is a mention about this in the book entitled
"Virus Storm", authored by Virus Expert Nathan Wolbe. There he describes
that hand shaking sometimes bring flue, stomach ache, cold, fever, etc. But
in Japan people won't shake their hands instead they bow the heads to each other
to show the respect.

Being independent can make one survive at any one situation whether married or divorced.

After all we came alone and will go alone.

In India I had a chance for a Q and A with an ISCKON sanyasi( a young sanyasi) along with a few other people.
It was really time well spent. We could ask any question to the Sanyasi and he would answer it.

The Sanyasi seemed very well informed about human emotions.
For example one person asked the sanyasi:

One is asked to think of God 24 hours but how do I do this when I am doing my job am I not supposed to concentrate on my job?

Sanyasi replied: One has to develop parallel thinking at the same time..one for God(Krishna) and one for job.

Then the person asked him "how is that possible?"

Sanyasi replied "for example when we love someone even when we are at work we are thinking of our beloved..so same way..try to develop parallel thinking"

To this I asked the Sanyasi "But aren't we supposed to be Eka Grata(One mindedness) and not let our mind branch out in many directions"

Then Sanyasi replied "you have to practice to be parallel minded other wise how will you think of God during your work"

So I told him "see I am a doctor..no doubt I do get irritating patients but most of the time I try to think I am treating God..so when one does the duty as an offering to God isnt that already thinking of God?"

Then another person asked the Sanyasi "Are you thinking of Krishna now when you are talking to us"

To my surprise the Sanyasi replied "I am trying to think of Krishna but it is hard becos I am talking to you all"

Then I told the Sanyasi "You are quoting from the Geeta non stop and teaching us Geeta too so how and why do you say you are not thinking of Krishna when you are speaking the very words of Krishna?"

Sanyasi then smiled and said "yes you are right..I never thought of it that way before"

Frankly speaking I do not blame him for saying that he was not thinking of Krishna while talking to us cos ISCKON way of thinking is very much dualistic.
For them thinking of Krishna means "japa, namasmaranam purely directed to Krishna.

But it was really nice having a Q and A with him.

dear sir !
the sharing of work start when you decided not to blame anybody of their activities.when you start sharing ,the understanding will be more with couples cos they could understand the problem in each job.as Renukaji said my wards also advice (suggest )to cook for my wife (their mother )as a change which i am not able to oblige .if i cook i can not find fault and loose my very long practice.
my daughter and sons in foreign countries are sharing their work since no maid servant.

In olden days men were the sole bread winners of the family. But nowadays things
have completely changed. Wives also go for employment, some time day shift and
sometime night shift particularly in the soft ware industry to share the financial responsibility
of the family. If both of them work, the standard of living will be good. Yet in some houses,
the wife after coming from the office start doing all the house hold activities to keep the
husband and kids happy. However, if the husbands come forward and assist them, they will
certainly be happy. A question arises as to whether all the husbands understands the
crux of the problem. Some still live in the ester years fashion.

But of late, I notice at the weekends, they share the work together voluntarily,
with a motto of helping each other besides they can finish the work faster.
It gives them a leisure to relax together and watch the television or coach the
kid. Some men do wash the clothes with hand and hang them to dry. The wife
arranges the dried clothes of children uniform etc and places them in the
wardrobe with a good understanding, where people do not own a washing
machine with a clear understanding.

Do we really go to these ISCON temples with bakthi as we do when we visit other temples..? The way in which these

ISCON temples are commercialised ..I see them only as a mall..I do agree that bakthi is one's individual attitude but how

many will honestly accept the reality..?

Dear sir,

You know money is needed to propagate religion.
I do not see anything wrong in putting money to good use after all they are NOT forcing us to donate or contribute.

They have prevented many Hindus from converting to other religions and also provide free school meals for students.

I salute their effort to spread the word of God even though I might not 100% agree with their style of prayer.

We Hindus should stop having the "Pichaikaaran Syndrome"
We Hindus seem very comfortable only when a religious organization is in dire straits and the Swamiji looks much poorer to us.

Only then we Hindus seem happy.
If they see a Swamiji living comfortably like anyone of us each one calls him/her a fraud most of the time.
If a Guruji goes in an car people call him a fraud.

For a realized soul..a car is just a mode of transport..after all we worship Lord Rama who used a Pusphaka Vimanam and also worship Lord Krishna who had chariots.
No one is calling Lord Rama and Lord Krishna frauds isn't it?
Becos we know that the material word means nothing to a realized soul.

Remember the story of Sage Yajnavalkya who was walking with Maitreyi in the jungle which had lots of gems along the path and he was covering them with earth hoping Maitreyi won't get carried away by the gems.

Maitreyi then asked him "why do you still see the difference between gems and earth?"

So same way...if we see everything as only money.. everything is commercialized but if see money as Dhanam(donation) then we only see service to mankind.

It's high time we Hindus have some money power to benefit the world.
Money in the hands of a good person is never in danger of being misused.

Recently only the Kumbabishekam of the ISKCON Temple at Chennai was celebrated.
It is mentioned that the ISKCON society has constructed this temple in a big way incorporating
traditional art and craft of South India. Further the Society claims that it is a blend of tradition
and modernity to give the artistic style as well as the best of latest scientific technology.
The ISKCON Temple at Chennai like other ISKCON centres is the axis point from where the
Teachings of Lord Sri Krishna Chaitanya would be popularized amongst the devotees. The Deities
include those of Rukmini and Krishna besides the Idol image of Deity Satyabhama, is also installed.
Besides the temple houses many other Deities like Jagannath, Baladeva, Subhadra and Gaura-Nitai.

In a few years or in a couple of decades, the ISKCON will become indistinct
from main stream Hinduism.

Every year ETV kannada used to telecast Live from Udupi Shree Krishna temple, the krishna janmashtmi festival. This year they telecast the celebrations from ISKCON temple at Bangalore.

I know a couple of guys (actually more than a couple) who also watch the annual event. I talked with them and enquired whether they watched the show. They all replied in the positive, but none of them made any mention change of slokas or vigrahas or the puja vidhi etc. I guess that they did not notice the change and that would be the case in many instances. ISKCON people are distinctly recognised only when they are white foreigners.

When more foreigners turn up than Indians,
it is only fair that we make the place
look like a country fair! :)

Our system is the best. We touch our own hands :pray2:

and do not spread infection secretly :)

The opponent (?) need not feel frightened since

both the hands are temporarily put out of any threatening actions.

They NEVER give undivided attention to ANYTHING or ANYONE.
We may go on talking seriously while they would dwell in a secret chamber of their memory!
