I and many others of my age group, used to get up early before the household wakes up
and take a bath and finish as many chores as possible before the babies woke up
and started demanding our time, energy and attention.
Here in the West, the mothers sleep as long as the babies sleep (if possible for longer too!).
The whole household wakes up at the same time and a much later hour.
All the chores are to be done by everyone at the same time.
They have to share the bathrooms and other facilities in the short time available.
They will rather do this everyday than think up of getting out of bed a little early
and doing things more leisurely. WHY???:noidea:
Dear amala,
My parents house and my house must be the very few Hindu houses which do not use Agarbathi or Sambrani for prayers.
Somehow the smell tends to irritate one's respiratory tract.
I remember once I had to attend a bhajan at persons house and the sambrani smoke was so thick that I ended up having rhinitis for 2 days.
I like Kanakambaram flowers cos they are fragrant free.
Dear Doc
Categories of people

3 . Not Stinking but Rich.
4 . Not Stinking and Not Rich.
I suppose they come in all shapes, sizes, colors AND ODORS !
See if you can find some kind of nasal drops to in-sensitize the olfactory
faculties - you could do great business.
Yay Yem
dear renukaji !Lightweight, very colorful, doesn't wither and of course fragrance free!
Ideal for dance recitals too.
dear renukaji !
you have very nicely narrated the practice of new generation. we past (old) generation prefer things to be finished before the peak ours or wait for the people to finish their routine and will have our own schedule.my wife or myself will wait till the arrival of the partner.

dear VR !OK! What if there are six people and 2 and a half bathrooms???
(Half bath is one where we can brush our teeth and
attend nature's calls and but not take bath!)
dear VR !When you have no answers to give, you too can say this !!! :tape:
Known for his preference for Urdu poetry, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Monday voiced his unhappiness over the BJP targeting him on coal blocks allocation saying his silence was better than a thousand answers. Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament House after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) refused to let him make a statement in the Lok Sabha, the prime minister said: "Hazaaron jawabon se achchhi hai meri khamoshi, na jaane kitne sawaalon ki aabru rakhe. (My silence is better than a thousand answers. If I start answering then it will throw up several more questions which will beg answers)."
Even while traveling in trains, I will get up brush my teeth and wash my face
before the herd wakes up and moves in!
dear renukaji !Ha Ha Ha...

dear VR !
we should not take the silence as approval .he may be thinking about the pros and cons
மௌனம் சம்மததுக்கு அடையாளம் என்று எடுத்து கொளக்கூடாது என்பதற்கு இதுவும் ஒரு உதாரணம்

I once traveled in a train from Madras(it was madras then) to Mangalore and a famous senior Tamil actress was also on board.
I was surprised to see that she was touching up her make up non stop through out the journey and also she looks very very anxious..always looking around to see who was watching her and pulling her saree pallu to cover herself.
She looked as if someone was out to kill her..dont know why she was so anxious.
I have seen many of her movies before where she did play roles of anxious women and I guess in real life too she is too anxious.
She looked much better in real life than in films.
