When we went to USA for the first time in 1998, both my sons used to store Coco-cola in their fridge. The cool, effervescent, sour drink was a welcome change from the tasteless, colorless, odorless plain water. Very soon both I and my husband had got hooked to it-even without realizing it.

The thought of coming back to India, leaving two sons there itself was bad enough. Craving for coco-cola would only make things worse when we had to come back. We urged them to stop buying coco-cola till we left USA.

Moral:
Anything we like or enjoy can become addictive!
I was mainly trying to express the fact that internet can be so addictive.

"peep! peep!" :decision: "cluck! cluck!"

Now that you write so much, it makes you kind of 'sthiram jeevi chic'! If you don't open your mouth about your age, who is to know?
Most of your write ups don't actually show your age, unless you mention it. The sense of humour, the energy and the wide array of subject selection would show at the most a lady in her 30s. Just stand back and view your own write ups ( except the ones that actually talks about your age and your arthritis experiences) as a third person; you may realise that. As long as these write ups remains, you will stay in your 30s; won't get any older. That's why 'Sthiram Jeevi Chic'! ( Chiranjeevi although gets a very long life, still becomes older. The age is not frozen).

Cheers!

I hope your sons are not hooked up to Coco-cola. Real bad stuff. It just ruins the system. I buy that only when we make or buy pizza. Only about 2 litres, just for the occassion. And I usually throw out the reminder!

Cheers!

Before Dr. Renu knew me, she had guessed my age at early 20s!!!
Cool! Hereafter no mention of my age or aches & pains. :high5:

When I can pass off for a a person 1/3 or 1/2 of my age
I will be a real fool to miss that opportunity!

When they stopped buying coco-cola, that helped them also to get off the hook.

I think one NEEDS a drink of coco-cola to DIGEST the pizza.

Small wonder they both go hand in hand! :)

I was just about to write that and you beat me to it.
I really thought you were some early 20's and in college.

Dear VR Ji,

I am going to share something spiritually personal here.
Once my husband developed some chronic back pain that was just not going.
All test were normal.

Than one day I had a dream of Sathya Sai Baba and He told me to tell my husband to stop drinking the diet version of an aerated cola drink he was taking.

I told my husband to stop drinking that diet aerated Cola and the pain disappeared.

I am typing this question here and would like feedback from members.
There is no wrong or right in this question.I am asking this cos I was asked this question once by some local faith healer.
So I would like to ask the same question and once I have enough response from members I will tell why I am asking this question again.

The question is:

What is the significance of the statue of the Mooshika seen facing the statue of Ganesha in a temple?

God IS the doctor of the devotees!
He will speak either through our doctors
or through our dreams. :hail:
Here HE had chosen to speak through the
dream of a devoted wife... a devotee doctor.

The question is:

What is the significance of the statue of the Mooshika seen facing the statue of Ganesha in a temple?

Reportedly, the following explanation has been given by Sathya Sai Baba himself:
“The mouse is the vehicle of Vinayaka. What is the inner signficance of the mouse? The mouse has a keen sense of smell. The mouse is a symbol of the attachment to worldly tendencies(Vasanas). It is well known that if you want to catch a mouse, you place a strong-smelling edible inside the mouse-trap. The mouse also symbolizes the darkness of night. The mouse can see well in the dark. As Vinayaka’s vehicle the mouse signifes an object that leads man from darkness to light. The Vinayaka-principle, thus, means that which removes all the bad qualities, practices and thoughts in men and inculcates good qualities, good conduct and good thoughts. ”

The mount of Ganesh is a mouse called Mooshika, the "Little Hoarder". Mooshika Vahana is also called Mooshikam, Minjur or Akhu.
It is a hyperactive creature. The mouse is symbolizes of our indriyas (ten senses).
Therefore Ganesh sitting on such a vehicle represents a deity of control over the indriyas.
The mooshika sitting quietly facing Ganesha signifies that the ten restless Indriyas have come under control and are ready to obey the slightest wish of Ganesha.

Thanks for the response...my answer to that faith healer also was on the same lines as Naina Ji and VR ji with regards to Mooshika and Ganesha.

But after that guy heard the explanation I was surprised when he told me

"what!!! don't you know how to think like a simple person? The significance of Mooshika is just for you to go around Ganesha. You have no wisdom at all..no use having knowledge."

I was wondering was that really a fair response? He asked me a question and when he heard my answer he calls me dumb.

May be, you didn’t give him proper dakshinai?

He himself has neither wisdom nor knowledge but is judging the others!
Should the highlighted portion in your post be read as IS instead of IF??

He doesn't ask directly but I donated a good amount to his organization.
He was asking me lots of questions. Its a private session and no one else will be present.
He would start of as "do you the meaning of this?do you know the significance of that?"
And when I answer he was just fault finding.

I guess I answered all his questions and may be he wanted to actually give me a lecture if I didn't know the answer to any question.

It was 1 hour session of of hearing someone non stop saying that I have no wisdom.
I found it a bit fun too cos he would ask a question..hear my answer and then he wont give a proper answer but he would say "you have no wisdom"

May be he wanted me to lose my temper and was testing my patience.

I was wondering "what is wrong with this guy?" then I thought its Ok also to relax and be dumb cos where else can I afford to be called dumb and that to pay for hearing it.!!LOL

That is when you pay up just to get scolded!!!:ear:
Better to pay up to keep the person :tape:!!!

Swami Dayananda Saraswathi has a terrific sense of humor and
the voice that is best suited to hand it out!

He often makes fun of the sermons which starts with the words "Paavigale!...."

In our religion we are told that we have mahaa vaakyas like
"Aham Brahmaasmi". "Tat thvam asi" etc which practically equates us to Gods
(minus our physical and intellectual limitations.)
