After arriving in Gangtok, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate a flower show at Ridge Park. The two day conference was inaugurated by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh at Chintan Bhawan in Gangtok yesterday.

      BJP Saturday hit back at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for saying that his party would back GST Bill provided its conditions were met. BJP said Congress’s “negative mindset” was delaying the key tax reforms legislation. “Instead of playing anti-development, anti-poor politics, Rahul Gandhi should tell the country up front whether his party supports the Bill or not,” BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

[h=3]Court recalls non-bailable warrant against Dhoni[/h] New Delhi, Jan 19 (IANS) The Ananthpur court that had issued a non-bailable warrant against India's limited overs cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for posing as Lord Vishnu on the cover page of a magazine on Tuesday recalled the issued warrant. "Our legal team led by Mr. Rajneesh Chopra today moved an application before the local court in Ananthpur, Andhra Pradesh, thereby seeking cancellation of the non-bailable warrant as issued against the cricketer by the local court vide its order dated 07.01.2016. The non-bailable warrant was issued against Mr. Dhoni for non-appearance before the Leaned Trial Court on 07.01.2016," Arun Pandey, chairman of Rhiti Sports, which manages Dhoni's off-field activities, said in a statement.

Police rescue trafficked teens duped into sexual slavery in Delhi

By Nita Bhalla NEW DELHI (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Two teenage girls from rural India, lured by traffickers with promises of marriage and a good life in the city, were rescued from brothels in Delhi at the weekend, a senior police official said on Monday, adding that a search was on for a third girl. North Delhi's Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma said the three girls -- aged between 16 and 17 -- were brought from West Bengal to Delhi, where they were held and repeatedly raped by several men for a month. "The three youths got in touch with the girls through social networking sites and then through phone calls and convinced them of marriage," Verma told the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
