11#11. The three types of Bhasma

ShAntika Bhasma is obtained by burning the cow dung collected form the cow itself – just as it leaves the body of the cow.

Poushtika Bhasma is obtained by burning the cow dung which has left the body of the cow but has not fallen down of the ground.

KAmada Bhasma is obtained by burning the cow dung which has fallen on the ground.

The significance of the three lines of the Vibhooti.

The bottom line signifies BrahmA, the middle line VishNu and the top line MahEswara.

A single line signifies the SarwEswara. Brahmins must utter mantras while smearing the Vibhooti. The others must wear is mixed with water.
 
I have seen an old lady 80+ run like an olympic champion
even before the cow has lifted its tail to do its business -
to collect the fresh body-warm-cow-dung.

Thinking back I get a doubt now that
may be she wanted to get it
before it hit the ground!

Dear VR ji,

I am pretty sure that a rise in Alzheimer's Disease will be seen in the near future.

I am noticing the usage of smart phones are making people rely less on their memory.

Everyone just snaps a shot of everything or record stuff in the smart phone.

Previously if I were to ask anyone the name of the medication they are on..they could tell me from memory but now everyone just shows me snap shots of the medication to see the name for myself and they do NOT remember the name of it.

Everything is being recorded in the smart phone instead of the brain!

Less usage of brain cells is a risk for Alzheimer's.

I wonder why people are not interested to rely on their own memory?

When I was young I made sure I never used any book to read the lyrics to sing a bhajan..I made sure I knew it by heart by repeated practice from time to time to make sure my memory is used instead of writing it in a book.

Even now I still feel one has to make an effort to remember things by constant practice.

The more gadgets we use..the less the memory power of our brain. Its really a risk for Alzheimer's!

Earlier people used to learn th entire VedAs by memory.
Hence the name Sruti since it was heard, repeated and stored in memory.
We will certinly lose what we don't use.
Already we were using a very smal % of the big memeory bank we have.
Now it is dwindling into nothingness.
AND if the smart phone is lost or stolen then
those not-so-smart-guys-and-girls may lose
their entire data, lives and even identity!! :scared:
 
Singers used to bring note books and text books for use during the concerts.
Now they bring their sophisticated laptops.
No one wil be any wiser if they record their songs as well and just lip sync!!! :)
 
It is said that when Mr. K.R. Narayan died and
his wife was informed about the death
she just asked,"Narayan who?"
She was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

There is many a slip betwix the stool and the floor! :(

The best pose to avoid any injuries or fractures is

to curl up like a small baby - to the extent possible

and land on one of the two sides.

Never TRY to break the fall with hands or legs or HEAD!!!

MAN is NOT a CAT to flip in the mid air and

make a perfect landing on his two feet.

EVER heard of adminstering a Barium meal to a new born baby
less than one week old???

Such babies are held upright and forced to burp. :shocked:

The moment a teaspoon of milk is spit out due to the squeezing of its tiny tummy ...presto a tube goes in to its nose/ thraot and barium meal follows at close range.

Ignorant parents and greedy doctors form an ideal combination
for reaping money - even when the child is born normally and naturally.
BEWARE of the doctors who forget their Hippocrete's oath. :scared:

An old lady who has lost the valve which closes

the lungs when we eat food or drink liquids was given a Barium meal.

The X Ray was really scary since all the Barium had entered her LUNGS!!!

This caused further complications and speeded up her sad demise! :(

IN 21st Century Doctors diagnose what is NOT wrong with the patient

and use the method of Elimination to reach the only one left behind.

Reminds me of the "Neti! Neti!" is the quest for the Soul/Aatma.

A friend told me that the Makkal Auot works on the same principle as the Call Auto and is cheaper than the regular auto.
