At the fraction of a cost of a decent silk sari
a girl can get dressed in great and comfortable clothes!
AND The ONLY way to keep the imagination active and
curiosity unabated is to dress modestly! :)

When the Raajapaart Ranga Durai enters the stage like a jumping jack from behind the short curtains held by two junior actors, he would sing (howl!)
"Raajaadhi Raaja mahaa..." :sing:
THIS technique never fails to catch the attention of everyone.
Some people do this in addition to wielding the golden wand. :drama:
Others wield the golden wand a day or two after they enter.

[h=2]Why did I return today?
[/h]I had promised myself complete rest for first the three weeks followed by restricted activities for the next three weeks.
This will be followed by another three weeks of zero activity in order to
celebrate the visit of my elder son and his family - after two long years.
For people with NRI children and Empty Nest Syndrome in addition,

every festival will be celebrated during their visit to India.
Regular and normal activities will be resumed in Mid July. :)

A new day has been born for everyone here.

I'll be Older by a year on 4th but I've become wiser by many more!!!

A new life has been born for me!

The deviation from the normal routine has made me

Bright eyed - since the disturbing screen has been removed

Bushy tailed - since a wet towel scrub has replaced the hair-wash

More Relaxed - since there are no self-set-deadlines now

More Refreshed - since the drudgery in kitchen is minimum now

Free of leg pain - since I stopped doing the weight bearing yoga (!)

Free from sleep deficit - since I stopped setting the alarm on (!!)

More wise - since I listen to the marathon speeches by mahaans

Less vice - since I broke free from certain addictive food habits.

I used feel like a heavy water-filled-balloon.
(Thanks to the excess salt in the less-salted rasam I used to drank)

Now I feel as light as an air-filled-balloon.
(Thanks to the deep breathing I keep doing)

When the eyes have to take rest, the ears become the main source of knowledge ( being the secone best Gnaanedriyam??)

Finally I found time to listen to the VishNu Sahasra Naamaa elaboration spread over 160+ hours ( is it 180+ hours actually???)

Moral:

One must know/ learn how to convert every curse into a boon

and every inconvenience into a long-denied-convenience. :couch2:

I found out a few shocking facts!

1. It is NOT what we eat on the dining table that adds weight to the body and girth to the waist. It is what we eat when not sitting at the table.

2. We need very little food to survive and the keep the system working well. When the physical activites are minimum (to live and feel healthy)
we may just need what an infant needs (to live and grow)

3. Losing weight is a possibility - despite reduced physical work;
despite stopping yoga regime; despite sleeping more -
provided we also learn to eat less and feel satisfied.

4. Once we stop eating for the tastes/ flavors / colors / textures
our food intake automaticlly gets reduced.

To put it in a nutshell, cut off the influence of four out of the five gnaanendriyas while eating food.

USE ONLY your ears while eating (!) by listening to soothing soft music.

You will satisfied with less food, since the music fills your heart and your tummy as well.

Sevikku uNavu is not a tall talk but based on scientific facts recently proved!

Moral:

Never feel discouraged if the weight does not get reduced.

Dare to Change your life style and food habits drastically. :thumb:

Cuts calorie intake.

Want to consume fewer calories and enjoy what you eat more? Try listening to soft music at mealtime. In a study of fast food restaurants published in
Psychological Reports, Cornell University marketing professor Brian Wansink found while softening the lighting and music in restaurants didn’t influence diners’ choices of menu items, it did cause them to eat 18 percent less of what they ordered – an average of 775 calories as opposed to 749. That translates to almost a pound of body weight over one week’s worth of fast food meals. If you want to lose weight, putting on a little mood music couldn’t hurt.

'Maple' mp3 player available for android phones and tablets has the facility to increase (or decrease) playing speed. For VK upanyasams, I have set the speed to x1.25 i.e. 25% faster without any degradation or discomfort in quality. And an one hour upanyasam can be listened to in 45 minutes. In one to one and a half hour drive every day, I manage to cover a lot.

Thank you for the useful tip! :)
But my idea was to spend more time usefully
rather than to SAVE MORE TIME while listening. :ear:

1. What about posts dated 25th ?

2. I think 13 + 21 = 34 !!

1. It was a sneak-peek to take a look! :peep:
2. 13 + 21 = 34 (Have no doubt!)
It falls on 4th June for sure.
But the brilliant doctor
whom I trust most
(family doctor since he is a doctor in the family)
told me that two weeks' rest was more than adequate.
So I took the average and waited till today! :)

A Jeeva is God with many limitations.
God is a Jeeva without limitation of any kind.
God is Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Omniscient.
Can a JEEVA become a GOD when freed from all limitations???

Long cherished dreams are coming true.
Long cherished plans have started taking shape.
Long delayed actions have started happening.
"WHY NOW?" and 'HOW NOW?" is beyond my comprehension.

I think we owe everything to my dear mother who is now freed from all physical limitations.

She was the jet-setter and go-getter in the family - so full of energy, intellect and tact.

She was not the type who would wait in a queue to take a dip in waters of Viraja.

She was not the type who would swim the dark, murky, fearsome waters of VaithariNi ...holding on to the tail of a male calf (with a chocolate brown velvet hide ?) and be guided by a flickering floating wick lamp.

She was the type who would hop on to the nearest beam of Sun rays and travel against gravity - upwards in the shortest and hottest path.

She was the type who would find the travel in the luminous Archiraadi maargham - at the speed of light - more appropriate and suitable for her temperament.

After all she had waited patiently for the Chitra Maasa Vishu PuNya kaalam, in Uttharaayanam and the day time of a brilliant Guru vaaram.

She must have endeared herself to God in every name, fame and form by observing total fasting on Karthigai nakshatram every month; the Soma vaara vratam, Guru vaara vratam and Sani vaara vratam - ever since I can remember.

She must have become the pet child of both Sreeman NaaraayaNa and Devi NaaraayaNi for having chanted their Sahasra naamaas over several decades.

If it is not SHE who is performing all these miraculous benevolent actions, I wonder who else it can be!

The sincere and serious priest who helped us in performing her last rites was duly impressed by the serene expression and tejas in her face ( It must have been a real rare sight for him).

He gave the five of us a sound piece of advice on the Subha Sweekaaram day.

"Whenever you need divine intervention and help, pray to your mother first before you pray to God!"

I bet he knew why he said what he said!

Have you ever wondered how the time of posting :clock:

conveys much more than the page long post does! :blah:

I just learned to define the expression "feeling comfortable" in many ways.

1. It is "Spending a sleepless night composing a worthless post!"

2. It is "Tossing in bed till it is legal for a home-maker to switch on the P.C.

- without getting bitten by the smitten cat or vicious Alsatian or venemous

Adhiseshan also present in the household."

3. Posting the crap in another person's busy thread for obvious reasons

4. Nothing can ever go below zero here - since there are no negative points

Yet the Universal Golden Globe "love all" is NOT universally loved by all.

THIS is real humor dear friends ... not the intended post of empty words!

Thanks to the Nishachars (both charaas and charis)
