Think or sink!

A little deviation from the normal routine can throw the entire day's happenings out of gear. :(

The milkman delivers the milk packets at 4 - 30 A.M every morning. Today he did not come till 7- 30 A.M. May be overslept since he knew that today is a public holiday.

But that does not let oldies like us to sleep more than usual duration!

So what happens to those 3 hours. We just wait and wait and wait.

Everything we do in a day has been programmed in the most logical sequence.

Drink coffee and that gives the energy needed to go for the morning walk and the long will activates the bowels and that will be followed by a refreshing bath and the the activities of the new days starts in the right manner.

If anything goes out of schedule... the whole day goes out of schedule too! :clock:

Habits form like cobweb and later transform into steel cables! :ballchain:

I wondered how my maid managed he expenses for the
emergency heart operation of her chain-smoker-husband.

She has borrowed 1,50,000 at the rate of 2% per month!:faint:

He is at rest eating and relaxing at home while :couch2:
she and her daughter are working overtime to repay the loan sharks!

After clearing the loan the money must be amassed for the wedding expenses of the daughter -
if she wants to get a decent and well employed groom!

Where have those days gone when the husband was supposed to earn the bread for the family and the sons were expected to take care of their parents in their old age???

The deviation from the daily routine does good
to us by giving us an occasional rude awakening. :smash:

It proves how smooth our daily activities have been all along
and how disturbed they could have been and thankfully were not! :hail:

Can you guess what most men never get tired of... despite their age???

It is teasing their better halves until they either break down and cry or blow up a fuse in a showdown.

Both of these are not good nor kind nor welcomed by a wife whose entire life goes round her pati parameswar.

It is not that these men do not know what they are doing. Surely they are neither blind nor dear (neither are the neighbors deaf and blind is another more serious issue!)

My father used to say often "The man who can't achieve anything outside his home takes up to bullying the wife who is the silent and more efficient achiever!"

He could not have been more correct! :clap2:

In some other houses the wife possesses her husband before he can take possession of her body, mind and soul.

The roles will be reversed and the shedding tears and blowing of the fuse may also differ but generally the scene remains the same.

This is the age of spork ... the combo of a spoon and a fork.
This is modern age ... as fast and as convenient it can be.
Looking and pining for utensils and serving spoons which are best forgotten is silly!

The combo of a spoon, a fork and a knife is here too!
It is an amazing and versatile three-on-one cutlery.

The proud parents of the spork! :)

The suspicious father of a spork!

The fold-able spork to save space! :clap2:

I got greeting message by SMS and then on phone from a strange lady.
She sounded as if she knew me very well but I was unable to place her.
It turned out that she was the Assistant manager in a local bank.
Thanks to the gift of my mother to all her five children.
Suddenly we have become a VIP customers.
The worst part was that I did not remember my official birthday
since it is + 18 months of my real birthday! :)

In those days children would be admitted in schools only after they are 5 or 6 years old.
There was no play school/ Pre K.G/ lower K.G / upper K.G etc.
We went directly to the first standard.
So the age was always given 1 to 2 more than the real age.
No one insisted on the original birth certificate from the hospital since
most ladies delivered at home and the birth will be registered as per convenience
without giving the name of the child but only the order of its birth and the names of its parents!
So including the name of the child becomes a laborious process later in life.
Now the youngsters are too smart and foresighted.
They think up of two names ( both male and female) for the child to be born.
So they can have a puccaa Birth certificate with ALL THE RELEVANT DETAILS IN ONE GO! :clap2:

Quest for Knowledge!

Quest for knowledge must be directed internally rather than externally.

Everything is inside our body which exists outside in the Universe.

The popular saying in Tamil goes thus

அண்டத்தில் உள்ள எல்லாம் பிண்டத்திலும் உள்ளன.

We have the five elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space inside us.

We have inside us the Sun, the Moon and the passage which can connect us to the outer space.

We waste our entire lives seeking things outside us instead of seeking them inside us.

I have made a humble beginning in the quest for the best inside me and nothing will make me change the orientation of my quest by making it go out externally.

It is a real challenge to enter the mind of an ancient writer and discover what he had managed to deliver in a confusing way.

Why be confusing in stead of being crystal clear???

The knwoledge is only for the real seeker and not for everyone.

Seeker always manage to find the real meaning - however ambiguous

and confusing the message may appear to be!

Got the idea behind the messages seeming to go in infinite loops?

A rude awakening!

Of late my staple diet has become the cucumber + tomato salad or half cooked, stir-fried Bendi + tomato curry along with a 30 m.l of broken wheat cooked with 75 m.l of water.

I did not realize that these side dishes keep me feeling satisfied and keep off the edge of the hunger until I had to do without them for two consecutive days. :hungry:

Thank God most of the addictive habits are beyond the reach of common people.

Otherwise no one can say with certainty how many more would have gone off the rails! :(

I am surprised that 99% of the people living here DO NOT keep open any window open at any time in any room - including the kitchen.

How they can live without the fresh air and diffused light confuses me really.

I need a lot of fresh air and of course water and diffused light in addition. Otherwise I may wither as the plants and creepers do !

The other day I visited an old lady since her daughter insisted that I visit her mother. Their flat was a virtual pressure cooker... so hot, so dark, so humid and so sickening.

The moment I entered and knew that they will not switch on the fan for anybody, my body sent out a surge of instant cold sweat to cool me - not used to such atmospheres and temperatures.

The father has been dead long since. The mother lies curled up in a sofa
may be 3 feet long. Small wonder she had lost the use of her legs completely.

She can move around inside the flat on her wheel chair. No treatments... no exercises...no hope of getting better
and no wish to get better! :(

She is contented to watch the idiot box non stop from the morning to the night- curled up in that tiny sofa!

In my opinion this is not living. This is waiting for the call from the next world and the passport to go there.

Life is for living ... not for waiting to die!

P.S (1)
I leave one window open in every room and the kitchen windows are closed only when I retire for the night and opened the first thing every morning.

P.S (2)
So I have to enjoy the following smells and sounds whether or not I relish in them! The fragrance of cooked fish, masala cooking, midnight brawls, and children's cry as well asparents' fight!

P.S (3)
Well is there is really any unmixed blessing in life???

The flat belonging the Vivek patti whose famous dialogue is
"எப்படி இருந்தவள் எப்படி ஆயிட்டேன் பாருங்கோ!" remains locked.

That thatha and paatti have no children and have not left a will behind.

It is sad that a house which can fetch a neat sum when sold or earn a good amount when rented just lies locked up like a booth bungalow.

Most people are very wise but not worldly wise! :(
