Think or sink!

Pooja Swamiji Dayananda's advanced thoughts on the svasti vachanams given above.

He keeps repeating "This much I can do, can't I ?" after each pondering!

Sure this much is not too much and certainly NOT out of anybody's capacity!

#1. "This much I can do, Can't I?"

(based on svasti prajaabyah..)

"I find myself in a world that I did not create.
Yet I find that I am interrelated to everything in creation.
I appreciate this fact. And in appreciation I send my good wishes
to all the beings in every nook and corner on this Universe.
"This much I can do, Can't I?"

Dear VR ji,

Today morning I made a slight change to my usual Guacamole..instead of using ripe tomatoes I used golden raisins..it gave a different twist.

Tomatoes lend acidity to a dish and so do raisins but raisins have a sweet sour hint too and made the Guacamole a lovely side dish for my Kichidi.

Dear Renu,
I really do not know anything about the fancy dishes you are talking about.
All the same they sound endearing and interesting!
Carry on your culinary experiments and keep me posted-
even though I may never try to make any of those
fancy dishes with exotic ingredients. :)
They may be of use to some sworn connoisseurs in the forum!

#2. "This much I can do, Can't I?"

(based on NyaayeNa maargena...)

"The politicians and politics of the world frighten me.
Yet I am aware of the fact that we need rulers.
If there were no rulers, there will be utter chaos.
But then when I read the newspapers and see the TV
I can't help myself feeling sad and helpless. What can I do?
Neither qualified am I, nor ready to stand for the election.
But one thing, Oh Lord, I can do. I can pray.

In MasaaNi Amman kovil situated in Anaimalai, the popular form of worship is grinding red chillies.

This is done by people with an evil design to destroy or trouble their real/ imaginary enemies.

The skin of the victim is supposed to burn and cause distress and extreme agony.

I wonder why Vitamin B deficiency produces the same symptoms - may be in a milder form.

The burning sensation starts with patches of the size of a small coin like the new one rupee.

Later it spreads to larger areas. I am told that this beastly burning sensation might become

so intense as to disturb the beauty sleep at night.

Hair loss and thinning of hair are symptoms of vitamin B deficiency. :(

Instead going from the cause to the effect very often

we trace back to the original cause from the effect!

It is difficult for the vegetarians/ vegans to get enough of Vitamin B

except in the form of fortified drinks and treats and tablets...

unless of course we take a liking to the husk and thavidu and are ready

to compete with our now-in-the-news four legged cousins!

#3. This, then, is my prayer I send to you.
May those who rule the world,
Everyone at every level of ruling
Rule it with justice.
In keeping with your dharma, your order.
They may be interested in their own welfare.
But then, let them not sacrifice the common interest.

The number of common eye defects is 56 !

I am unable to get the link- though the page opens up! :(

I wonder how many will be the number of uncommon eye conditions.

People with diabetes must get their eyes completely examined once or twice a year.

No one can guess what is happening inside the all-seeing-eye!

A mami has to get some oil injected in to her eyes at regular intervals.

My friend here frequently develops bloody eyes when need laser eye surgery and hospitalization.

Another aunty ignored her tunnel vision until she lost the vision in one of her eyes completely!

To be forewarned is to be well prepared to avoid problems later on.

The head is the most important organ of a human body.

The eye is the most important organ in the head.

Why else would we say "the apple of the eye " and not

"the apple of the nose or cheek or tongue or ears?"

Nov 5, 2013 - They include: myopia (nearsightedness), which is when far-away objects look blurry. hyperopia (farsightedness), which is when close-up objects look blurry. astigmatism, which can result in blurry vision because the cornea is not perfectly shaped to direct light into the eye.‎Visual Disturbances - ‎Eye Floaters - ‎Astigmatism - ‎Eyelid Inflammation (Blepharitis)

I do hope this link works for everyone of you!

If a watchmaker has to be more intelligent than the watch he makes,
how much more does God have to be intelligent to make
so many complex creatures, with so many complex organs,
with so many complex possible problems, in each of them!!! :hail:

#4. Oh Lord! I ask of you , guide their minds
To make the right decisions at the right time,
Guide their heart to care for the people,
Guide their every action.
They take an oath in your name to serve the people.
Help them to fulfill their oaths.
This prayer I submit to you.

We make our choices. :decision:

Thereafter our choices shape our lives! :ballchain:

It is very important to make the right choice

and also at the right time for the right reasons!

Three rights may make a left while traveling

but three rights can't make a wrong! :thumb:

Arjun's 'Karpanya dosha' and "Lead kindly light" mean exactly the same thing. They both pray for divine guidance to make the right choice at the right time!

karpanya-dosopahata-svabhavah
prcchami tvam dharma-sammudha-cetah
yac chreyah syan niscitam bruhi tan me
sisyas te 'ham sadhi mam tvam prapannam (chapter 2- verse 7)

Now I am confused about my duty and have lost all composure because of weakness. In this condition I am asking You to tell me clearly what is best for me. Now I am Your disciple, and a soul surrendered unto You. Please instruct me.

#5. LET ME HAVE RESPECT FOR ALL THE RULERS.
They are appointed by your order.
I send me good wishes to them as a token of my respect.
For have you not said,"I am the ruler among you!"?
Even though sometimes it looks otherwise,
there is still some Law and order,
maintaining the day to day affairs - because
there are people who make decisions and rule.
let me appreciate them and obey that law and order.

The Ida and Pingala naadis form many knots or grantis inside the human body.
Lalita sahasranaama describes how Devi can undo these knots by her divine grace.
I think the unused legs also form many grantis inside them, limiting the range of leg movements.
There used to be so many crackling sounds accompanying the walking in the initial stages.
The more we use the legs, the more the knots open up and the legs become stronger.
Keeping movements restricted and to the minimum fearing the pain will only
increase the pain further and decrease the movements also further.
After all we all know that we lose what we don't use! Right!!
So brave the pains and try NOT to limit your activities.
Pain reduces with the activities and range of movements become broader and smoother.
You can trust my words since I am exploring and discovering these by my personal experience.
A useful link for those who have an aptitude and patience to read such posts!

The link is NOT a junk!
It really works like a miracle.
I am yet to start doing the simple stretches and rotations.
But my dearest sister has been doing them for a month and
it has improved the quality of her life style tremendously.
Let us all start spending more time for our well being and
less time in "guppaa maarnaa' and watching soap operas! :thumb:

#6. Pondering by Swami Dayananda on "Gobraahmanebyah..."

"The cows give us milk, curds, butter and ghee.
And all the things needed for Vedic rituals.
If they were not there how can the rituals take place?
They stand for our material and religious wealth.
May the cows be healthy and in plenty.
This prayer I offer to you.
This much I can do, Can't I ?"
