Think or sink!

There need not be any deluge in town to bring the internet usage at home to a grinding halt ! :lock1:
The P C requiring repair will take care of it ! :boom:

I wrote that there will be no posts dated 17th Dec and today is 24th Dec!

What had happened in the past 7 days ( antha Ezhu naatkkaL???)

We wished to upgrade the P.C operating system and lost whatever system we originaly had! :(

The desktop went on a lightining strike.

The laptop was taken away since it woudnot recognize the Wifi.

Apparently the laptop was put under constant observation(!) in the I.C.U meant for P.Cs.

Oh boy! Am I glad I got it back just now in working order.

But tht is not the end of the story.

The high speed browsing limit has ben crossed- even though the P.C was not in use since 16th Dec!

I must wait for a more suitable day to restart posting in the regular threads.

Will it be next Monday or next month of the next year???

I really can't say!

The time saved by NOT being able to post in the forum was spent in hosting two ultimte free-loaders

for ~ 6 days and stitching a few sari-churis in addition to attending the early morning temple pooja.

If I don't find work to do ...the work finds me to get done!

:hail:

:bolt:

Now everything is instantaneous!

One can become a full moon from a new moon in 2 weeks

( both literally and figuratively)

One can lose weight and become a creeper from whooper just in a few days!

A temple of fine arts named Sangeetha Naatyaalayaa got reduced to mere home a few years back. :(

Then it became a meals supplying unit to the outlaws called in-laws for freeloading at zero expense.

Now it has become chathram where people come, stay, eat, rest and get refreshed for free!

The teacher of the fine arts transformed to the cook of the meals on wheels deals

and then transformed to the care taker/cook/ washerwoman of the chatram is
you-know-who! :mad2:

Moral:

The price we have to pay for some peace and quiet in the home front can't be translated into money!

It can be translated into the deteriorating health and increasing medical expenses.

But who does really care for another person's health or wealth

more so if they are manipulators of the highest magnitude so that

the manipulated does not even realize that he is being manipulated! :loco:

The less educated women state point blank to the prospective visitors

that they are unwelcome to stay in their house. :hand:

That is precisely why I said that Education is to train us

to tolerate the people whom we really need not tolerate! :(

:faint:

I thought I would survive at least for three weeks the
Maarghazhi month's schedule of getting up at 4- 30 A.M, followed by
a bath, the hour long walk as usual and the puja from 6 A.M to 7+ A.M. !

But I am already down and out 10 days earlier than estimated! :(

Thanks to the awesome twosome who made the 6 days of their stay
as tiring and made it equal to getting up at 4-30 for ten days!

The real life's equations are mind blowing!!!

While they recharged themselves for the period till their next self invited visit, :couch2:
they have made me feel like a flat tyre, a washed out cloth and
look like something the cat had brought in during the night! :pout:

Sure! The world needs all sorts of weirdos to make up its population
but I can't help wishing that their ratios were quite different! :(

The coolest idea is to make the daily routine to suit our age! :decision:

I don't think God will grant special boons, if one gets up at wee hours, in the coldest of the months and sings at a temple. :nono:

My dear Raji,
I am not seeking special boons!
I have been attending the Maargazhi morning puja for the past 35 years!
It has become like a vratam or a chosen ordeal for me
It has become a part of me so much that I feel ill at ease if I miss it.
It is not the pooja but the combined effect of the early morning head baths and oil baths,
entertaining the free loaders and the early morning walk in the O3 filled cool breeze.
If I shift the walking to the evening I can sleep on till the usual 5-15 A.M.
That way everything will be taken care of! :)

I used to have a Bengali neighbor.
He was a kattai brahmachari.
He was taking care of his widowed sister.
They were simple folks and straight forward in nature.
They were ardent devotees of Mother and saint Arabindo.
They were amazed that I used to climb uphill to the Venkatesa
temple every morning and evening to sing the pasuram daily.
In the morning it would be all the pasurams and in the evening that day's particular pasuram
followed by elaboration of its meaning in Telugu by an old man.
Thanks to the mike on the top of the hill.
The pasuram could be heard in all the neighborhood.
I was referred to as Thiruppavai Ramanigaru - a title I cherish till today.
Coming to the main story, I explained to my Bengali neighbors the story of Andal
and how she merged and became one with the deity right inside the temple.
Mr. Roy used to make fun of me that I may also merge with God as Andal did.
So he and his sister had to make sure I return home everyday after the pooja!

Maargazhi is special for all the three main religions.
There is magic in the air and music everywhere.
One can sleep on till 10 A.M as my guest did.
But I would rather not miss the chill and the thrill of Maargazhi
which comes but once in a year and leaves pleasant memories! :)

The doctor always insists that we telephone to him before we visit him.
I understand the reason and logic behind this request.
But those think this is nonsense travel by an auto only to learn that
the doctor is out of station for a week or so and return home crestfallen
and pay through the nose to the autowalah quite unnecessarily!

The doctor always insists that we telephone to him before we visit him. .......
Why ONLY the doctor? It is better to call any person before visiting, than to gatecrash! :D
Reason: We will know their mood and inclination to entertain us! :tea:

Now a real story(!!)

During the deluge, a sister whose house was flooded, was unable to contact his brother because the mobiles and

land line phones were :tape: . After taking a boat ride for about 12 kms, she found that her brother's family had already

quit their residence, which had 4 feet of water inside and their road had 7 feet deep river over it! She stayed with an
unknown lady for a day and returned to her own residence which had 2 feet deep water only!! :couch2:

When we are forced to take rest and are not used to sleeping all day long,
we travel down the memory lane recollecting the pleasant and unpleasant experiences.
I am not sure whether these fall in either of the categories but surely
they are worth remembering since they are uniformly weird!
