Dear VR ji,

Do you have any phobia/phobias?

I have school phobia!LOL

That is I hate school .....even till today I have never gone to my son's school ..even on his 1st day of school I did not go..my parents and husband went for his first day of school.

I could not go cos I really hate school and the idea of stepping into one now even as an adult makes me nauseated.

I have a wonderful history of running away from kindergarten too.

When I was a kid I ran away from kindergarten after 3 days cos I found it boring and I got angry with the teacher for bugging me!

Then I told my mother I am not going back and will study on my own and that is what I did..studied daily fully on my own and was ready for school.

For the first 2 years I used to vomit daily in the morning cos I did not like school.

But I love studying and used to be a class topper yet I found school too suffocating to my liking.

I hated the idea of discipline and rules and regulations even though I never broke any rule.

The school I attended as a kid was near a secondary jungle and in the break time I would walk into it and sit by the stream at times with some of my friends or sometimes alone.

It felt more relaxing...may be if I had monkeys as class mates I would have loved school better.

Anyway even till now my school phobia remains...I never attend any Parents Teacher Association meeting too cos I am afraid I might vomit there!LOL

Not to forget our dear Mom who was our role model!
award_star.png

And yet how many girls women really follow the role model set by their mother???

Many tambram mAmis who live in the U S of A have been converting their costly silk sarees into salwar sets long long back!

I have at least four of them in my extended family! :grouphug:

Of course, they have their own tailors who make designer salwar sets for them, using most of the zari work! :thumb:

I was told that they were converting the saris into lengaas and long blouses in the North Indian style!
Anyway what I said is happening now in India and not just USA or Middle East!

Dear Renu,
You are correct is stating that the real monkeys may be better school mates than the human monkeys!
I had always thought and known that the purpose of Education is to teach us to tolerate things and people with which and whom we really need not put up with in our lives!
You statement confirms my opinion.
I have no aversion to schools and colleges though some persons I met there managed to get on nerves often by their extreme selfish, self centered and weird mentality and behavior!

The tailors in the U S of A charge in $ ONLY.

So, the mAmis I know, have Sing. Chennai based tailors to help them get their new salwar sets!

Dear Renu,

Since your Q is about phobia, here is my answer - (though you have asked my Sis. :) )

Many members in my circle get upset with me for this!

Yes! I have 'Swamiji phobia' and never like to meet any Swamiji! :nono:

I like Swami(s) but not God men or Swamijis.
Call it by any name .. phobia or allergy.
I listen to their message and and try to apply it to my life.
But treating them superhuman Gods is not my cup of tea!
Many of them are richer than a king and more powerful than an emperor.
And they are supposed to have renounced the world and every thing worldly!
In our temple a new cult is taking shape.
Every Tom, Dick and Harry fall at the feet of the poojariji with his respective spouse.
Some of them even cling on to his feet for a long time!
To my knowledge we are not supposed to prostrate to anyone other than the deity in the temple!

This is a real interesting phobia.

VRji

do you know that boys fear most that their wives or girl friends would start behaving like their mother.

mothers of girls are fearful entities and mould their daughters to be like them.

Before dating a girl, meet the mother first to find out about the offspring..lol

As suspected you have always been a problem kid.lol

I also hated school.

I dropped out more than once in primary and middle school.

I thought the teachers were tyrants out to get me.

I would like to forget my school days

You are very wise.

Stay away from these swami types.

specially the bearded ones.

they grow beard since they do not like to see their own clean shaven faces.

most of these renouncing types turn me off.

they cause more harm to society than any useful service

Dear Krish ji,

I was not a problem kid in the real sense..its just that I hated school...otherwise I was a good kid but I used to irritate my mother when she used to conduct Bal Vikas classes in the Mandir cos I used to ask non stop questions and she felt I was disturbing others.

Other students just used to listen to all Bal Vikas teachings without asking her any question..I used to really bother her by questioning each and everything!LOL

But otherwise I studied well and was very active is sports too..but these sitting in a classroom made me restless.

I never attend any school reunion of any sort..even college reunions I have never attended.

The idea of school makes me uneasy.

Glad to know you too didn't like school.

Not entirely true...my mother and I are different as night and day.

My mum is a lot like RR ji in behaviour..very prim and proper with set values that she follows strictly.

I have noticed that most cases of Obesity (which is not due to any hormonal/endocrinal problems) are just due to wrong choices in life.

Most Obese patients I come across make unhealthy food choices which they stick on to it without wanting to give it up even though they know its bad for their health.

They prefer eating doughnuts instead of a a proper meal..drink around 5-6 cans of Coke a day instead of water and indulge in deep fried food and get no physical activity and hate to exercise.

I have stopped giving dietary advice to those who do not adhere to it and yet ask you why they are obese.

At least they could start making right choices when it comes to eating but they wont yet except themselves to be free from obesity related complications.

I am starting to suspect there is something called a "Stupid Gene" that clouds the intellect of people who make wrong choices in life but expect to be fit as a fiddle.

Only at the fag end of life one thinks of all the wrong choices made in life.

Formost it is only wrong choices with a few good ones.

At the city mall here, I came across a machine which gives weight, ht,BMI,,ideal weight,Systolic, diastolic, body fat, viscera

fat, body water with ideal values, muscle weight ,bone weight

After analysing these recommends exercises, ideal balanced nutrition with qty of cereal, rice,

fruits, vegetables, oil, cheese and milk . All tis in three or four minutes for rs 20.

I was very happy .Think of enormous savings in time and effort to get these done.

I learnt a lot about myself.

I got recommended 30 minutes of sit ups a day to shed 5 kg.lol

not bad . I was close to machines ideal.

Dear Mr. krish,
You are right! :thumb:

There is a saying Taayaip pola piLLai; noolaip pola selai meaning
"The mother will decide how fine the girl will be when she is a grown up
just as the materiel of the yarn used will decide how fine the sari will be when woven."

Another saying of wisdom warns the boys thus
"Thaayaip paarthup peNNaik koL."

So a word of caution to the boys wishing to find a bride...
"Meet the mother before you date the daughter!"

May be they dislike anything CLEAN including their own clean shaved faces! :)

Names can either define a person or defy the person.
I guess children can be either a chip of the old block
or the exact opposite of it! :decision:

I know a person who could strike terror in the hearts of his teachers.

His favorite game was pulling the pancha kacham of the teachers from behind
and toppling their turban from their front.

I hope he did not go to the extent of tying 1000 walah /100walah crackers to their dhotis as some children do to the tail of a donkey. :boom:

No one can lose 5 K.G so easily!

If singing a song in Hamsaanandhi alone can itself cause tears flow from mye eyes,
what to say of the chain of raagaas namely Naada naamakriya followed by Hamsaanandi and then Sindhu Bhairavi.

I don't know how to put it really!

Was I singing while crying or was I crying while singing.

In any case every one was moved to tears by the song - which is an achievement for me.

Tears mean anubhooti and I need NOT feel ashamed to feel it while immersed in soulful singing in front my favorite deity in a temple. :)
