Think or sink!

A little harmless flirting is necessary when one's own spouse starts losing interest in him/her.
It will ignite a little jealousy and make the bored spouse wake up to the reality that
the other members of his/ her group still find the spouse very interesting and engaging!
Women would instinctively know their "This far and no further" limit! :)

Dear VR ji,

Why ignite jealousy?

That is very un Sattva.

That is why the Sattva Harem concept is advocated.

It totally does not support any form of Kama,Krodha,Moha,Mada,Lobha and Matsarya.

Overcrowding can be handled easily.

One's intentions too should be Sattva that is do not have 2 admirers of the same kind..only one of each type..so that the boat does not get overfilled.

Moderation is the key.

Next..one has to use Viveka and do not get attached to any member.

Practice detachment...so that one can drop a member anytime when you no longer need his services.

For example if one harem member was holding a post in some organization that we would also benefit from..and once his term as president or chairman of that organization is over..he can be dropped becos he would be no use to us anymore.
Moderation, viveka and practise of detachment-all of them together are making my head swim in circles and this calls for a

quick trip to the the nearest watering hole for the day, luckily bangalore is an open city. And I have promises to keep.

if wives try to flirt with others in their presence, husbands only turn protective -they do not like wives make asses of

themselves. men never get jealous of wife. they get jealous of other men having attractive wife

...AND MILES TO GO BEFORE YOU CAN REACH THE WATERING HOLE! :spit:

Man hates the other men who find his unattractive wife very attractive!

Two men were discussing about and drooling over a voluptuous movie star.

One of them asked the other, "What will you left with if you take away her boobs and lips?'

The other man replied in a drab matter of fact voice, "My wife!" :(

Dear Renu,
To be honest, wedding life itself is a himsa - irrespective of
whether it falls under the Satva, Rajas or Tamas category!! :(

Well... Kal without a tense in Tamil could mean Stone or Alcohol!.....
ayyyyoooooo, Renu! One is 'kal' and the other is 'kaL'!

Tamil has 'la', 'La', which should be used correctly. Otherwise 'school' (paLLi) will become 'lizard' (palli).

P.S: I am glad that you did NOT quote the Tamil saying relating 'kal' and 'kaNavan'!!

People with knowledge of spiritual phrases can perform on of these double damakas... :decision:

Clarify a person's doubts or kiLarufy and confuse him more than what he was originally! :dizzy:

In celebration of husbands

who are always on high spirits ...

and are also high on spirits...

கள் ஆனாலும் கணவன்!

ஃ புல் ஆனாலும் புருஷன்!

Today is New Moon day.
Priests and pundits would be busy with tarpan etc.

So the pooja was shifted from 6 A.M. to 5 AM. so that
the priest can start his other duties after finishing the morning pooja.

Guess what!

The 'kartaa' who wanted to clebrate his grandson's 'Aandu niRaivu' did not turn up.
Nor did his sahirdaamani or daughter or Son in law or the birthday baby.

'Ennaikkum vara *devigal mattum vanthom.
Ennaikkum varaatha * devigal varavE illai."

Is there any use in performing pooja in absentia while living just 30 feet from the temple? :decision:

It was helpful to finish the pooja one hour earlier.

I got time to vacuum clean the house, wash the mosquito nets , dust the whole house, change the sheets and pillow covers etc in addition to the daily chores and kitchen duties.

My biological clock already registers 4 P.M. calculating by the amount of work done already and my energy level right now! :dizzy:

ONLY when I stop singing I do realize how much energy I am wasting in raising the whole group to sing at my pitch.

So today I let them sing at their own pitch, own tune and own pace.
(Once my namesake asked me seriously, "Why do we have to maintain thaalam while singing")

The technical way of saying it is to let them sing in Varaagam set to Vethaalam.

Today I sang only the robust Hanuman chaalis and my granfather's kruti
Sree Mhaa Hanumathe sadaaa namasthe.

So hence forth ONLY individual singing.
I need not lift the whole group through my voice on to my slender legs! Right???

When the two persons wishing for Mudal mariyaathai and parivattam
and trying to control everyone else in their spiritual activities
fall out and separate due to some reason
peace and quiet prevails everywhere including the temple premises.
The hundi was opened recently and the money counted.
As the saying goes "KaNakkuk kettaal piNakku varum!"
So PiNakku turned out to be for the better than for the worse! :)
Bad people need not always be destroyed by Good people.
Sometimes they destroy themselves too! :fencing:

The pooja in our temple is high tech in Nature.
Some people who have left the colony and moved to other cities also perform the maargazhi maasa pooja. So the priest would take sankalpam over the phone and also recite the mantra pushapam and broadcast the harathi and laali song to the remote kartaa.
I won't be surprised if soon he starts giving a live relay of the pooja using the I phone! :)
He can really afford to do it since his fees are what is popularly known as Spencer Rates! :thumb:

Sing. Chennai sAsthigaLs are also very smart! They start Varalakshmi pooja in person in one house and start in three or more
houses thro' phone! The mAmis have to wait till he goes in person and finish the rest of the pooja! :couch2:

Our niece's hubby is very well versed in matrAs. He will connect all his relatives in the U S of A thro' skype

and perform AvaNi avittam. He lives in Detroit.
