Think or sink!

My theory on this.

Never worry what your children do to you when you become a senior citizen.

Find any youngster who can bond with you and incorporate him/her in your family.

When someone fulfills your essential needs, he/she is your family.

Many from dysfunctional families are looking for father/mother figure.

Give them love and they will reciprocate

Sure! When the right type of persons come together they will form a life long bond! :thumb:

I too am diabetic.

But I check once in three months or so.

This is one thing I shrug off and carry on.

But if one has regular diet and walk every day some distance then it helps.

If one looks around and see miseries others are undergoing because of economic deprivation, we should consider ourself lucky..

I do not have any indication UNTIL I suddenly develop some boils in the body. By then it will be too late.

So I started checking my fasting sugar twice a week. Now I do three times a week after the recent episode!

I like to post in many threads simply because that gives me more exposure to different thinking of people.

These influence my thought process and aid me to become more liberal in thinking and actions.

I interract witth most conventional ,orthodox to most liberal and free freaked out types cutting across age groups, castes,religion,race.

All these leave a mark on me.

All these make me strong enough to take anything which most would consider atrocious.

But then there are some core beliefs that do not change....

I think I have something to say to and share with the others.

That is why I started writing in the first place.

I too can handle difference in opinion without blowing my top.

But indulging in personal attacks is quite another thing!

One great mami taught me this:

vambuch chandaikkup pogaathe!

vantha chandaiyai vidaathey!!

I like your postings.

I am not the religeous kind.

Yet I care for what you write.

You have a way with words..

Then this belief in Almighty and going to temples and singing in glory of Ambal .

Your isolation amazes me.

You get watched over by someone in this forum who will pull my ears if I say something inappropriate.

Yes you are lucky.

Dear Mr. Krish,

I was right in the middle of whatever was happening where we lived for about two decades.

I have never sat among the audience even once - except while attending lectures/ demonstrations.

It is always on the stage, singing, dancing, playing veena, acting, talking or directing the others.

I am happy for all the opportunities I have received to become what I am today

from a simple village girl who studied in a Tamil medium Panchayat school!

As years roll on we have to mellow down and turn inwards and away from the maddening crowd.

All the answers we seek are right inside us - if only we know how to find them!

I may be physically isolated but I never feel alone.

Think of how many people listen to me :ear:

whether or not they agree with me or even talk to me! :tape2:

One great lesson is soft talk your opponent and not flex muscles

One can turn the most belligerant tigers into mewing cats.

One ought to behave like a soft smooth villain [vamp] and seduce the opponent.

If hostility is turned to neutrality and neutrality to positive love , then it is win for you.

You make a wonderful writer with immense potential.

I will take a copy right of your works to give my grandchildren.{ Poems of Dadi VRji}.lol

I write in two languages so that even those who do not know / or can not read Tamil,
can also know the matter being conveyed and benefit from them.

Of course Tamil write up is the primary since it has both the rhymes and reasons
and the English translation is secondary since it has the reasons but lacks the rhymes. :)

I am hoping that my grandchildren will read and enjoy my writing when they grow up!

The feline egg thief

It was the most recent batch;
Those eggs were left to hatch.

A Cat tried, the eggs to snatch;
Having opened the room's latch.

The owner heard the cat scratch;
So he managed the cat to catch!

He threw it on the roof's thatch;
The cat landed on a soft patch!

The challenge was too much
For the scared cat on it to march!

Playing with words can be real fun.

Some love to solve cross word puzzles.

My dad used to love cross word puzzles.

Some enjoy playing the game of Scrabble.

I love relating the unrelated rhyming words into a believable story.

These result is the Long and Short Naughty (or Nutty) Poems! :)

I read that Obama's love for Scrabble helped him to become an author.

His books when converted in audio books fetched him two Grammy awards in 2005 and 2008!!!

If you love Words sincerely, I am sure Words will reciprocate your sincere love sincerely! :)

பொய்களில் மூன்று வகைகள் உண்டு;

தரம் குறைந்த பொருட்களைத் தள்ளவே;

பால் இருக்கின்றதென்று பசுவோ;
நூல் இருக்கின்றதென்று பஞ்சோ;
தோல் இருக்கின்றதென்று எருதோ;

Define Selective Prudence!

Lamenting and grumbling while settling the overdue payments and

laughing with glee while squandering the money on self and family.

Define Selective Priority!

Placing oneself above all the others who one is supposed to serve and

excluding self, family and friends from the misfortune of the others.

Grin and bear VS Grin and skin!

Money spent on the others is 'Sani' !!!

Money spent on Oneself is Honey !!!

Money spent on one's own honey

Is the sweetest of all the honey !!!

More so when one is a grissly bear

And the other a dare to bare !!!

Playing with words can be real fun. ........
Agreed! I started to 'make' cross word puzzles in Tamil, after seeing a few in 'VAra malar', which my sister in law gets every week.

It is real fun to search for words with common letters. Finding clues which are neither very easy nor very difficult is more fun!

I have started making grids with Tamil movie titles and enjoy doing it too! The pages of a 2005 diary is getting filled up! :thumb:

P.S: My prof. friend in our forum helped me to make a 10 x 10 grid, which can be used for these puzzles. Thanks to him! :)

The better half of yours truly is ding nothing but solving the movie title puzzle.

He has solved one completely and looking for the missing 2 in the second puzzle.

Lucky you! You have highly placed contacts willing to help you! :thumb:

Can this be really possible??? :faint:

    Hyperloop highway? You could travel from US to India in 3 hours for $50

    Daryl Oster, CEO of ET3, said his tube transport company has attracted competition in the next generation transportation field-the most recognizable being Elon Musk's Hyperloop. Oster said that tubes, which enable car-sized passenger capsules, could be optimized for value, and could reshape how people travel, reducing labor and fuel costs to less than a tenth of the cost of flying. Hyperloop, Oster said, is regional, whereas ET3 is a "freeway" with access points all along the route. TechRepublic caught up with Oster at the 2017 Smart Cincy Summit and you can watch the full interview above. "Our vision is being able to travel from, say, here in Cincinnati to the Taj Mahal in under three hours

But I don't trust few who write a lot and preach through out

One's thoughts need not necessarily match with his/her action and deeds.

Have not we seen people talking like Alexander the Great in public and behaving like dogs to run with tail tucked between the legs once they see the opponent?

Have not we seen God men giving a calm and cool appearance with saffron attire in public and preach sermon attracting huge crowd and commit all sorts of offences viz criminal offences behind the scene?

dear Mr. Krish,

I was posting in many threads until I got vexed/ annoyed.

We can have different opinions without becoming enemies!

But for some people the opinion and the people who have them are one and the same

So an opposing opinion means an opposing person = an enemy!

I have neither interest nor inclination not time to indulge in petty quarrels with imaginary enemies.

So I stick to my threads and entertain / educate people who care to drop in visibly or stealthily!

Well said VR Ji

Kudos.

Dear Sis,
Forum friends also give good advice! The one I follow recently is ''ignore posts form persons who irritate you''! :couch2:
BTW, I found a new thread to make a platform for :fencing: but it has been deleted! So...... :peace:!

This I agree.

While we have a woman member who encourages members locking horn over issues, we also have some who love to send SOS to the Moderator and seek his intervention for every drop of a hat and thus try to establish ther upper hand over the Forum.

பேச வேண்டும், நாம் எண்ணியதையே;
பேசியதையே நாம் செய்ய வேண்டும்;

ஒன்றை நினைத்து, மற்றதைப் பேசினால்;
ஒன்றைப் பேசி, மற்றதைச் செய்தால்;

தன் நெஞ்சே தன்னைச் சுடும் என்றாலும்;

Dear Sir,

I have ALWAYS minded my own business which is to write more and more and also better and better.

Rubbing shoulders with the other members, forming close-knit bands or groups is NOT my cup of tea!

The oldest and the most respected forum member had referred to me as the 'Most non
controversial writer' here!

I will always
remain grateful to him for speaking these kind words about me so daringly and so openly!

My dear Raji,

I do NOT know what you are talking about.

Neither do I care nor worry about it.

I wish this thread will be allowed to go on peacefully and usefully as before!

As I have often said, I have far to go and to keep the promises (which I have made to myself) !
