MMS view was it was sonias political victory in 2009 and she had very right to decide on policy issues having political implications . he turned a blind eye to her actions.he was a political light weight who coud not win a lok sabha election. he was happy to implement her decisions . he acted more as a principal secretary than a PM. the dual sharing of power damaged his name and he became a subject of ridicule.even in tamil nadu we had panneerselvam who was proxy CM for J.

Pannerselvam was actually the CM of TN for few months, when J was indicted in a Court Case. He was not proxy CM. He had taken oath of office and secrecy.

why is it a favour for her party by aligning with BJP. she can do some shadow boxing with bjp to please the minorities and still align with bjp later after elections.nation does not require either modi or j. it can manage well without them.

MMS' second term clearly proved Parliamentary Democracy is not suited to Indian condition. It is a mystery who is PM and who is proxy.

India can be effectively managed by following American model.

NDA inching towards 275 seats! Prediction by NDTV...Or is it a trick to create a false sense of hope that would make the lazy Hindus over confident and not cast their votes!

This is what the Congis can now pray for!

people will lose faith in the media with the over hype . even modi himself would not believe in these opinion polls. it has become personal . it is Modi vs gandhi family . other leaders of both parties are on the sidelines enjoying the fight between the two . others dont care who wins or loses.will be happy if both get individually defeated so that they can decide who will be next PM

India must know the real Modi

Some excerpts from an article by ram jethmalani in the sunday guardian. Hope at least some opinionated but receptive souls see light after reading the article. Link at the end.

"Narendra Modi'sopponents, in cahoots with a partisan media, during the last decade haveachieved great success in distorting the persona of the real Modi beforeIndians. This trend seems to be finally reversing.
"
Let the people know what really happened at Godhra. The carnage on the Sabarmati Express, which was carrying karsevaks from Ayodhya to Ahmedabad, took place on 27 February 2002 at 8.30 a.m., as it moved about 500 yards from Godhra station and was stopped at a signal, through repeated chain pulling by the conspirators. A crowd of around 2,000 Muslims started stoning the train mercilessly and setting fire to the coaches, having prepared the previous night with petroleum and acid bombs. Compartment doors were locked from outside, and the karsevaks were trapped in the fire and smoke. 59 persons, including women and children, in four coaches, were gruesomely burnt alive.
"the troubledhistory of Godhra, and its long history of communal riots from 1925 till 1992,post Independence, all under the Congress government. The worst riots in postpartition India happened in 1969 in Ahmedabad where 5,000 Muslims were killedwith the Congress in power under Chief Minister Hitendrabhai Desai. Does anyoneask about what action was taken against the perpetrators, what charge sheetswere filed? In 1985, under Congress Chief Minister Madhavji Solanki, againthere was a major communal riot preceded by smaller ones, with curfew lastingover 200 days. 1987 and 1990 again saw communal riots in Gujarat, underCongress Chief Ministers Amar Singh Chowdhery and Chimanbhai Patel. Let thepeople judge for themselves who the real Maut ka Saudagar is.
"
Modi's earlieststatements after becoming Chief Minister are that of a statesman. They revealhis sagacity, patriotism and secularism, and not a trace of communalism isevident in them. He speaks of the common cause of Gujaratis, the power ofoneness, combating corruption, farmers' concerns, border and maritime security, poverty reduction, rural uplift. His slogan was Sabka Saath, Sab ka Vikaas, andhe used his leadership and the entire governance structures to translate thisinto action. Gujarat had 11 universities in 2001. Today, there are 44,including a Sanskrit university.
"
What the Congress and its communal allies (who derive their political sustenance only by keeping Hindu Muslim division alive for ever) cannot stomach is that Modi has kept Gujarat riot free for the last 12 years, something that never happened from 1925 for 75 years, the worst and with the most bloody riots happening under the Congress rule.
"
There is alsoenough evidence, corroborated by K.P.S. Gill, that Modi took every necessarystep to ensure taking control of the situation — indefinite curfew, shoot atsight orders, putting the entire 70,000 police force on public duty, deploymentof rapid action force and CISF, request to the Centre for 10 companies of CRPF.Army assistance was requested on the first day. Both the Nanavati Commissionand the Supreme Court monitored SIT have found nothing against Modi, and haverubbished the canards spread by his enemies.

Low voter turnout (54%)in Bengaluru is a shame on India's Silicon Valley! Lower than even the 2009 % which was 58.8%

With elections being spread over 9 phases are voters doing double or triple voting...Likely as a Maharashtra leader exhorted his followers to try that!

polarisation of good vs evil, hindutva secularism vs pseudo secularism, universal benefits vs reservation, national self respect vs groveling to the west, respect for culture vs demeaning of traditions and history - polarisation is good for the long term growth of the country and its population.

modi will not seek us visa, but us may offer it unconditionally when its own interests need it.

BJP did not return second time because of its pseudo secularism. Hindutva secularism will always operate under Congress only. Progress and Development is necessity, but BJP is a status quo (if not status quo ante) party. Of course Modi clan has developed itself well. Congress is rooted to Indian culture but there is a tendency in certain group of people to go west. Civilization makes government, not vice verse. Polarisation has been taking place since 2/3rd elections. Only the new poles do not stand there (AAP). History has proved that you can fight for your desires through Congress only. I am not a Congressman or sympathiser (only because of rampant corruption). Under BJP the word 'corruption' will be replaced by modism. Then who else is eligible for my vote. Only the future..

When there was a great clamour for getting the Visa for Modi, I said Modi would get his visa when the time comes. The US somersaulted and said when EU nations are willing to extend their hands to Modi, the US cannot do otherwise. See, the US is always served by its interests. I doubt autocracy will serve India best hereafter. History is waiting to happen when we will face the facts and values. Like many I will be happy if one group is not replaced by another "equally efficient" group. Whatever problems Modi might have to face, the country will have to face to.

low voter turnout in karnataka will aid the ruling party .it appears yediyurappa is not helping modi much.let us see on 16th may

I think the EC can order a reverse check of voters list there and find out the reasons for the low polling. Now Nilekkeni must be free and one can ask him what happened, is happening and will happen to his "UAID" or whatever its called.

Elections

Dear all
Its now right time that our community support the right person to be elected to parliament. Let us resolve that all voters of our community SHOULD cast our votes without any excuse. Let us strictly NOT accept any kind of bribe that political parties may offer to us and NOT sell our votes.

In the election melee, nilekeni's aadhar is a revelation; his name is 'nanadan manohar nilekeni'; his name in aadhar card, a primary document, is 'nandan mohan nilekeni'.

bjp lost because of alliance dynamics; congress is a shrewd manipulator for alliances and playing communal politics. It thought its brand of secularism will succeed this time too, but modi has broken it. Wise public has woken up and there will be less and less talk of secularism and minority appeasement. He has said several times that he doesn't mind losing but will never play vote bank politics. He has won the respect and support of a diverse section of public. Every controversy thrown at him by the media and psec and communal politicians has not only failed to stand scrutiny but built up his stature. Many who criticised in the past have become his admirers. And the list is growing every day.

In Karnataka women have voted in large numbers..It is the highest ever voting % at 67.2..As overall is low, it means that most men have not turned up to cast vote...Now the guessing game will start..Which gender supports Modi most?

karnataka men had choose BJP with yediyurappa and corrupt congress . so they might have thought it was wise to stay away . women not liking inflation and price rise would have voted BJP normally low voting means status quo. will karnataka results be different?
