Dear Ms. Lalit,
If there is any color I like more than purple it is violet!
People associate me with that color more than I do.
So every time any body preset me a sari it would be a violet sari.
How many violet saris do I have? :noidea:
I have really lost count.
I enlarged the image and enjoyed viewing it.
It has calmed my mind and eased my soaring B.P ...
thanks to the tumultuous week I had since last Friday
with all my in laws descending on us and the tricky
deal which kept every one of us on the verge of
Patience, Logic, Tolerance and everything sane and good.
I never doubted about the growing intolerance.
Now it is confirmed beyond any doubts!

Personal needs vary from person to person depending upon
their profession and value of time they can spare/waste.
But the general concepts conveyed are
1. Minimizing one's needs and
2. Knowing the difference between Need and Greed.
Real needs are really justified but greed is not!

My maid is also quite a philosopher. (Is my presence philosophically infectious?)
Today morning after looking at me looking like something the cat had brought in during the night,
she became very anxious and wanted to know what was wrong.
Usually I would have finished my bath and be dressed smartly by the time she comes for work.
I told her about my soaring B.P. and he said in a bored and sad voice,
"Everyday is the same for us women - whether we are well or ill.
Cook food, wash the vessels, take bath, wash the clothes, sweep the floor and mop it."
I told her,"We hardly know how comfortable our life is unless something like the flood in Chennai
happens throwing our life completely out of gear, destroying all our earthly possessions.
Death is a great leveler no doubt. But so are floods, fires, earthquakes and volcanoes.
We are mere puppets in the hands of Mother Nature / Prakriti/ Maayaa shakti the invincible and
She reminds us of her infinite power now and then- whenever we seem to forget Her.

It was such a lovely sight to watch the little great singers (Juju and Varun)
sing Jingle Bell in unison and dance to it tune , hopping and jumping
and running round in circles to the merry tune!

I find speed breakers very interesting since they
increase my speed in stead of decreasing it!
Remember the stuntman who leaps across in the circus from

A business tycoon from USA came down to India and to Kerala - The God's own country. He saw a
half-clad man with beedi between his teeth basking in the sun on the pretext of catching fish.

The business tycoon got very upset seeing the way this fool was wasting his precious life time. :mmph:
So he gave the poor blighter a lamba-chowda-lecture on the value of time and of hard work and the
need to amass money while still young." :blah:
The beedi walah listened to all these with great patience and put forward a question to the tycoon.
"What am I supposed to do with all that money amassed by me by working hard during all my
waking hours?"
The tycoon replied in a matter of fact tone, "With that kind of money You can
take a vacation and relax fishing!'
The beedi walah said,"But I am already doing it now!"

SUPPORT OR SUPPRESS?
People meet with two different kinds of treatments. Some are offered unconditional support while the others are suppressed or offered speed breakers in their paths.
Some people are like the plants that grow well with fertilizers.They grow well with the support of the family members. A few others are like the plants who show rapid and impressive growth when pruned regularly.
The person who is not self sufficient needs the support of the others around him. The water coming out of a pinched hose reaches farther with greater speed. In the same way some people reach greater heights when offered resistance.
There is a proverb:”Different strokes for different folks!”
If the person needs support we must not deny him support. If he grows well despite our support let him do so!
Both the methods are good, since our aim is increased growth ratio in either case.

Mrs. R.R and Mr. Ram have temporarily shifted to his youngest brother's house in the next street. They are safe and sound. Mr. Ram's elder brother in a palatial house next door was watching the fun of the rain, foods and their miseries!
I now believe that relatives are just like the dry leaves floating on the water surface unattached to one another. Some times they move closer and other times they drift away - driven by Destiny!

It is an invisible and open jail.
There are no locks and doors
and yet I can't move out!
But I feel connected to the whole world

Dear Miss. Lalit,
We too need a safe gasket release system for the mounting pressure in us.
I make use of my many fold interests and activities to do that.
I may sit and stitch for 4 hours at a stretch as I did yesterday,
or sing for 90 minutes in full throat or just play veenaa.
Thank God I have many gasket release system depending on my mood.
It is the troubled oyster that produces the pearls.
It is the coal under pressure that transforms into a diamond.
My Yoga Guru used to tell us,
"Give so much troubles to your trouble that
it won't trouble you any more and just vanish ! "

He asked me,”What will happen if you open the door of a cage in which a parrot has been kept a captive?”
I told him, “It will fly up and away – never to be caught by any man again!”
My guru replied, “Know this to be the greatest mystery in the Universe.
A jivan is arrested in the cage called a body. The cage has not just one but nine doors which are never locked up. Why then does the bird not escape from the cage and fly up and away?”
“Do any of you know the answer for this mystery?
If you do, please reveal it for the benefit of the entire humanity!”

She is not lagging behind our all powerful politicians.

For three long years we were trying to dispose of an ancestral house.
The money was locked up in the land and the rickety leaking house.
Now the house has been sold.. but the money is to be seen nowhere!
The entire amount has to go into a bond for 3 years before we can use it.
How does it matter whether the money is locked up in the land or the bond
when it is of no use to these people who are on either side of 80 years!
