BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 1

8b. Madhu and Kaitaba – 2

VishNu got tired of the long war with neither victory nor defeat in sight. He went to KailAsh unseen by the asurAs and played YAzh from a forest. Siva was pleased with the music and gave his dharshan.

VishNu told him, “I am unable to kill the asurAs born out of my ears. Has my power got reduced? Please give me enough power to destrory those two foolish asurAs.”

Siva replied, “VignEswar is the God of Victory. You forgot to invoke him before you started the war. That is why you missed an easy victory over those asurAs”. Siva taught VishNu the shadAkshara.

VishNu chanted the shadAkshara for one hundred years and GaNapathy appeared to him. “Victory will be yours!” he told VishNu and vanished.

VishNu went back to the asurAs. They were hiding in a disguise in order to spring a surprise on Vishnu, but their disguise disappeared. VishNu poured a rain of arrows on them but nothing happened to them.

So took his chakrAyudham and let it go. The chakram chopped off the heads of the asurAs and they fell dead. The DevAs were overwhelmed and poured a rain of flowers. They worshiped and thanked VishNu profusely.

3#12a. பிரம்ம லோகம்

மும் மூர்த்திகள் ஏற்றனர் பெண்ணுருவம்;
மும் மூர்த்திகள் தரிசித்தனர் பராசக்தியை!

மும் மூர்த்திகள் பெற்றனர் மூன்று தேவியர்
மும் மூர்த்திகள் பெற்றனர் முத் தொழில்கள்

ஆதார சக்தியும் வந்தாள் அவர்களுடன்;
ஆதாரம் ஆனாள் அனைத்துக்கும் அவள்.

தரித்துத் தாங்குகின்றாள் அனைத்தையும்;
தரை என்று பெயர் பெற்றாள் ஆதார சக்தி.

இருக்கிறாள் அகண்டமாக விரிந்து, பரந்து!
பிருத்வி என்ற பெயர் பெற்றாள் ஆதர சக்தி.

மது கைடபர்களின் மேனியுடன் கலந்து
மேதினி என்ற பெயர் பெற்றாள் அச்சக்தி.

பூமியாக ஆகிவிட்டாள் ஆதார சக்தி;
பூமி அசையாமல் காப்பது மலைகள்.

மஹீதரம் என்னும் மலைகளே பூமிக்கு
மரத்தில் அடித்த ஆணிகள் போன்றவை.

மரீசி, நாரதர், புலகர், புலஸ்தியர்,
கிருது, அத்திரி, தக்ஷன், வசிஷ்டர்

புதல்வர்களாகப் பிறந்தனர் பிரமனிடம்.
புதல்வரானார் காச்யபர் மரீசியிடம்.

காச்யபர் மணந்தார் தக்ஷனின் பெண்களை;
காச்யபர் மனைவியர் பதின்மூவர் ஆவர்.

அத்தனை வகை உயிரினகளும் உலகில்
அந்தப் பெண்களிடமிருந்தே உருவானது.

பிரமனின் உடலின் இரு பகுதிகளில்
பிறந்தனர் ஸ்வாயம்பூவும் சதரூபியும்.

பிறந்தார் இரண்டு புத்திரர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு.
பிறந்தனர் மூன்று புத்திரிகள் அவர்களுக்கு.

உற்பத்தியானது பிரமன் வம்சம் இங்ஙனம்;
உற்பத்தியானது பிரம்மலோகம் இங்ஙனம்.

சிகரங்களுடன் விளங்கும் வெகு அழகாக
சிறந்த மேரு மலையின் உச்சியில் அது.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி

3#12a. Brahma lokam

The Trinity assumed feminine bodies and got the darshan of Devi Paraa Shakti. They got their respective consorts and respective assignments from Devi.

When they came back the Shakti who supports everything and everyone came with them. She has several names as the ground, Pruthvee, Medhini, Bhoomi etc.

The mountains keep her fixed in one place without moving round. The mountains act like the nails driven in a wood to keep it in place and are called Maheedhara.

Mareechi, Narada, Pulaka, Pulasthya, Kruthu, Ati, Dakshan, Vasishta were born to Brha Devan. Kasyapa was the son of Mareechi. He married thirteen daughters of Dakshan. Al the living beings emerged from these thirten wives of Kasyapa.

Swaayamboo and Satharoopa emerged from the two halves of Brahma’s body. They got two sons and three daughters. Brahma vamsam grew from them. Brahma lokam appeared to house them. It was right on the top of the Mount Meru with many beautiful peaks.

I saw your comment just now! :)
You are right in saying that diseases are NOT manufactured but take shape.
But I wantonly used the word since one disease will lead to another and soon
the person will be suffering from many diseases!
I will try to capture the same tone in the translation. Please give me some time! :)

P.S:
I did not address you in my reply since I see three different names in the post

9#6b. சாபங்களும், தாபங்களும்

தரவில்லை எதிர்சாபம் லக்ஷ்மி சரஸ்வதிக்கு!
தந்தாள் சாபம் சினந்த கங்கை சரஸ்வதிக்கு!

"நதிவடிவம் பெறட்டும் இந்த சரஸ்வதியும்,
நலிவடையட்டும் பாவங்களின் சுமையால்!"

"நீயும் அடைவாய் நதி வடிவம் கங்கையையே!
நீயும் கெடுவாய் பாவங்களைக் கழுவியதால்!"

சரஸ்வதி சபித்துவிட்டாள் கங்கையையும் கூட,
ஒரேபோல் மூவருக்கும் கிடைக்கும் நதிவடிவம்!

பரிசாரகர்கள் சூழத் திரும்பி வந்தார் பரமாத்மா.
பரிவுடன் கூறினார் அறிவுரைகள் சரஸ்வதிக்கு!

அறிந்து கொண்டார் சச்சரவு சாபங்களைப் பற்றி.
அறிவுறுத்தினார் லக்ஷ்மிக்கு முதலில் இதனை!

"அவதரிப்பாய் தர்மத்வஜரின் மகளாக பூமியில்;
அனுபவிக்காமல் கர்ப்ப வாசம் - கலையம்சமாக.

அவதரிப்பான் சங்கசூடன் என் அம்சமாக - என்னை
அடைவாய் அவன் நாயகியாக வாழ்ந்த பின்னர் !

பொய்க்கலாகாது சரஸ்வதி தந்த சாபம் - எனவே
பெறுவாய் துளசிச்செடி, பத்மாவதி நதி வடிவை!"

கூறினார் பரமாத்மா கங்கையிடம் இதனை,
"பெறுவாய் நதி வடிவினை பூமியில் நீயும்!

பகீரதனால் அடைவாய் பாரத பூமியை - அங்கு
பாகீரதியாகி நீக்குவாய் பாவிகள் பாவங்களை!

நாயகியாவாய் என் அம்சமான சமுத்திர ராஜனுக்கு!
நாயகியாவாய் என் அம்சமான சந்தனு ராஜனுக்கும்!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி

9#6b. The quarrel and the curse!

Lakshmi did not become angry - even when she got cursed. She became sorry, held the hands of Saraswati and remained silent. But GangA became very angry and her lips began to quiver violently.

Seeing the mad fiery nature of angry Saraswati, she told Lakshmi, " Just as she has cursed you to become a river, I too will curse her to be turned into a river! She will go to the world of men, the wicked sinners, and reap their heaps of sins.”

Hearing this curse of GangA, Saraswati cursed her back, “You, too, will descend into the world of mortal men as a river! You too will wash and collect all the sins of those wicked sinners.”

While this quarrel was going on, the four-armed omniscient BhagavAn Hari came back there accompanied by four of his attendants who were also four-armed like him. He embraced Saraswati and began to speak on all the previous mysteries.

Then they came to know the cause of their quarrels and why they cursed one another and all of them became very sorry.

At that time BhagavAn Hari told Lakshmi, " May you be born out of your own amsam - without being confined in a womb - as the daughter of King Dharma-dhwaja.

S'ankhachoodA - the Indra of the Asuras - will be born out of my own amsam and will marry you. You will be named Tulasee, the purifier of the three worlds, in BhArata Varsha. Now go there quickly and become a river by your own amsam under the name PadmAvati".

"O Ganga! You will also take incarnation in BhArata Varsha as a river. You will purify all the worlds and destroy all the sins of the inhabitants of BhArata.

Bhagiratha will take you down to the earth and you will be famous by the name BhAgirathee, the most sanctifying river in the whole world.

There the King Ocean born out of my amsam, and King S'Antanu also born out of my amsam will become your husbands and marry you. After that life on earth, you will come back here and become my wife once again!"

#9a. பிணி நீங்கியது-1

விதர்ப்ப தேசத்தில் கௌண்டின்ய நகரை
வீமன் அரசாண்டான் வெகு நேர்த்தியாக.

சாருஹாசினி அழகிய பட்டத்து அரசி;
பேர் சொல்ல பிள்ளை பிறக்கவில்லை!

தம்பதியர் தான தருமங்கள் செய்தும்
நிம்மதி பிறக்க வழி ஏற்படவில்லை.

வானப் பிரஸ்தம் செய்ய எண்ணினர்
வன வாழ்வு அளித்திடும் நற்கதியை.

புதிய அரசின் பொறுப்பை ஏற்றனர்
மதியமைச்சர் சுமந்து, மனோரஞ்சிதம்

கானகம் சேர்ந்து கனிகளைப் புசித்துக்
கண்டனர் அழகிய மலர்ச்சோலையை.

பறவைகள் பறந்து நிறைந்திருந்தன!
பசுக்களுடன் கூடி மான்கள் உலவின!

துஷ்ட மிருகங்கள் எதுவுமே அங்கே
கஷ்டம் தரவில்லை பிற உயிர்களுக்கு.

விரோதத்தை மறந்து கூடி வாழ்வதற்கு
வினோத காரணம் ஒரு பெரிய மகான்.

ஆசி பெற விழைந்தனர் அம்மகானிடம்
பேசி அறிந்தனர் அவர் விஸ்வாமித்திரர் என.

பூர்வ ஜன்ம பலனே இந்த நற்பயன் என
ஆர்வத்துடன் சென்றனர் ஆசிரமத்துக்கு.

பக்தியுடன் பணிந்தவரை வாழ்த்தினார்
“சத் புத்திரன் உண்டாகட்டும்!” என்று.

ஆசிகள் பெற்ற அரச தம்பதியர் மீண்டும்
நேசத்துடன் வணங்கினர் மனமகிழ்ந்து.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
BHAARGAVA PURAANAM - PART 1

9a. The miraculous cure – 1

King Beeman ruled over KouNdinya city in Vidharppa dEsam. ChAruhAsini was his pretty queen but they were not blessed with any children. They did many charitable work but their desire for a child remained unfulfilled.

They decided to go to the forest and lead vAnaprastha. It would give them a good life in the next janma. They entrusted the kingdom to two wise ministers Sumanthu and ManOranjitham.

In the forest, they ate fruits and roamed around. They saw a beautiful garden. Birds were seen in thousands. Cows and deer graced together. Even the wild animals seen there did not trouble the other animals.

There must be truly great mahAn behind this sAtvic behavior. They found out that sage ViswAmitra lived in the nearly Ashram.

They thought it was their good fortune that they got an opportunity to pay respect to the great mahAn.

They reached his ashram and prostrated to the sage. He blessed them saying,”May you be blessed with a worthy son!”
The king and queen became very happy and prostrated again to the rushi.

3#12b. தேவி தந்த வரங்கள்

உண்டாக்கினார் மஹா விஷ்ணு – வை
குண்டத்தைத் தன் லீலைகளுக்காக!

உண்டாக்கினார் ருத்திரர் கைலாசத்தை;
உமை, சிவகணங்ககளுடன் அமைந்தார்!

அமைந்தது சுவர்க்கம் இந்திரனுக்கு;
அமைந்தன அதில் பல அற்புதங்கள்!

ஐராவதம், உச்சைஸ்ரவம், காமதேனுவோடு
பாரிஜாதம், அப்சரஸ், தன்வந்திரி, சந்திரன்!

தோன்றின மூன்று வேறு இனங்கள்!
தோன்றினர் தேவர், மனிதர், திரியக்!

தோன்றின அனைத்து ஜீவராசிகளும்!
தோன்றின நான்கு யோனிகளிலிருந்து!

விஷ்ணு தியானித்தார் தேவி திருவடிகளை
விஷ்ணு முனைந்தார் தேவி யக்ஞம் புரிய.

தேவர்கள், முனிவர்களை அழைத்தார்
சேகரித்தார் ஹோம திரவியங்களை.

அமைத்தார் விசாலமான யாகசாலையை.
அழைத்தார் விசேஷமான ரிக்வித்துக்களை!

பீஜாக்ஷரங்களுடன் தொடங்கியது ஜபம்
பிராமணர் செய்தனர் அவிசுடன் ஹோமம்.

ஒலித்தது ஓங்கி அசரீரி விண்ணிலிருந்து.
அளித்தது விஷ்ணுவுக்கு பல சிறப்புகளை.

“வணங்கத் தக்கவனாக, பக்திக்கு இலக்காக;
வரம் தருபவனாக, ஐஸ்வர்யம் உடையவனாக,

ஆனந்தம் தருபவனாக, அபயம் அளிப்பவனாக,
அறத்தை நிலை நாட்டுபவனாக விளங்குவாய்!

கலந்திருக்கும் உன் அவதாரங்களில் என் சக்தி;
கடை விலங்கான போதும் கிடைக்கும் புகழ்!

நான் தரும் வரங்கள் இவை உனக்கு! பக்தியோடு
நானிலம் பூஜிக்க வேண்டும் என் அம்சங்களை”

யக்ஞம் நடந்து முடிந்தது இனிதாக;
யாவரும் திரும்பினர் தம் இருப்பிடம்.

3#12b. The Boons given by Devi

MahA VishNu created Vaikuntam for his leelAs. Rudran created KailAsam and occupied it with Uma and the Siva gaNAs. Indra got swarggam and there were many wonderful things there.

The four tusked white elephant AirAvat, The divine horse Uchchaisravas, the divine cow KAmadhEnu, the rare flower PArijAtam, the divine damsels apsaras, the God of Medicines Danvantri and the Moon just to name a few.

Three races were created namely the DevAs, The munushyAs and The Thiryak – animals which grow horizontally. These were born out of four different yonis or birth canals.

VishNu wanted to perform the Devi Yagnam. He collected the materials needed for Devi Yagnam He established a huge yAga sAlA and invited all the sages and seers to attend the yagnam.

Rikviths were the special invitees. Japam started with the BeejAkshara mantras. Brahmins performed homam offering havisu. An asareeri sounded from the sky. It was Devi herself who wanted to give Vishnu several boons – since she was well pleased with his Devi Yagnam.

“You VishNu will be worthy of being worshiped. You will be capable of giving boons to your devotees. You will be the aim and fruit of all bhaktAs and bhakti respectively.

You will possess all the eight aiswaryams (forms of wealth). You will be the giver of Anandham (bliss) and abhayam (fearlessness) to your devotees. You will establish Dharma (Justice) whenever it suffers in the hands of the unjust people.

My power will be infused in all your avatars. Even when you will be born as a lowly animal, your avatar will command and receive a lot of respect. These are my boons to you. Make sure that the world remembers to worship all my amsams without fail”

The yagnam was completed and all those who had attended it went back to their respective places.

கூட்டுக் குடும்பம் என்னும் அழகிய ஆலமரம்
பட்டுப்போய் விழுகின்ற அவலம் கண்டீர்!
“கூடி வாழ்ந்தால் கோடி நன்மை” என்று
கூவினாலும் காதில் விழுவதே இல்லை!

ஒருவர் ஊதியத்தில் வாழ இயலாமல்,
இருவரும் செல்வர் வெளியே பணி புரிய.
பூட்டிய கதவுகளால் வரவேற்கப்படும் சிறார்,
மாட்டிக் கொள்ளுவர் கெட்ட பழக்கங்களில்.

என்ன செய்தாலும் தெரியப் போவதும் இல்லை;
என்ன என்று கேட்க யாருக்கும் நேரமும் இல்லை;
தானே தனிக்காட்டு ராஜா என்று இருப்பதனால்,
தன் மனம் போனபடி எல்லாம் நடக்கலாமே!

கணவன் மனைவியர் இடையே தோன்றும்
பிணக்குகள், சில பல சிறு பிரச்சனைகள்.
பெரிவர்கள் இருந்தால் பாங்காய் பேசி,
சரி செய்து விடுவார்கள் பிரச்சனைகளை.

வளர்ந்து வரும் விவாஹரத்துக்கள் வரை,
வளர விடமாட்டார்கள் சிறு விவகாரங்களை.
வளரும் குழந்தைகளை மிகவும் நோகடிப்பது,
தளரும் தன் தாய் தந்தையரின் உறவல்லவா?

தன் வீடும், கூடும் காலியாகி விட்டதால்,
தனியே தவித்து, வெறுமையில் வாடி;
மனோ வியாதிகளும், உடல் வியாதிகளும்,
மாறி மாறித் தாக்குவதால் துவண்டு போய்;

வாழ்வே சுமையாகிவிட்ட வயோதிகர்கள்,
வாழ்வில் எதிர்நோக்குவது ஒன்றே ஒன்று.
தம் வாரிசுகளின் வாரிசுகளுடன் கூடி,
தம் மீதி நாட்களைக் கழிப்பதே ஆகும்!

மனோ வியாதிகள் உற்பத்தி ஆகாது.
மறந்தே போய்விடும் உடல் வியாதிகள்.
மாசற்ற மழலைகளின் ஸ்பரிசத்தால்
மாறியே போய்விடும் அத்தனையுமே!

அனைவருக்குமே நன்மை பயக்கும் அந்த
அருமையான வாழ்க்கை முறையை மீண்டும்
அரங்கேற்ற வேண்டாமா? ஆராய்ந்து கூறுவீர்!
அதற்கு ஆவனவற்றை செய்ய வேண்டாமா?

“கூட்டுக் குடும்பத்தில் குழப்பமே மிஞ்சும்!”
கூற்றில் உண்மை கடுகளவும் இல்லை.
தனிக் குடும்பத்தில் தகராறுகள் இல்லையா?
தனி நபர்கள் அதில் தலையிடுவது இல்லையா?

கூடி வாழும் போது பொறுமை வளரும்;
பொறுப்பும், சகிப்புத் தன்மையும் வளரும்;
பகிர்ந்து உண்ணும் நல்ல பண்புகளும்,
பரந்த மனப்பான்மையும் ஓங்கி வளரும்.

கூடி வாழுகின்றன கொடிய விலங்குகள் கூட;
கூடி உண்கின்றன கரிய காகங்களும் கூட;
கூடி வாழ்கின்றன எறும்புகளும், தேனீயும்;
கூடி மனிதர்கள் வாழ்வது எப்போது?

வாழ்க வளமுடன்,

THE JOINT FAMILY SYSTEM.

The banyan tree called Joint Family is withering away very fast in the world. It has been replaced by the Nuclear family, Atomic family and will probably by Sub Atomic Family in the near future.

One person’s salary is hardly enough to run a family due the spiraling prices of goods. So both the spouses are forced to earn to provide for the family.

Their children now known by the popular term ‘Latch Key Children” have enough temptations, freedom and time to get into bad company and bad habits. No one is going to find out.
No one cares to find out either. So they are their own masters!

Every human relationship is subjected to stress and strain – including that between couples. If there are elder members in the family they will use all their tact, wisdom and experience in making sure that the situation does not become explosive.

The growing number of divorces can be avoided by the intervention of the elders in the family. The divorces affect the children worse than the adults.

“Empty-Nest-Syndrome” (E.N.S) is the most prevalent disease among the senior citizens of the world-especially in India where the joint family system had been in vogue for centuries.

Children leave home on various pretexts...higher education, job opportunities, marriage to a person living in another country etc. E.N.S abounds in these homes.

The only thing these senior citizens earnestly wish for, is the opportunity to live with their children and grandchildren. They desire the togetherness more than anything in the world and want to spend the remainder of their lives in loving and being loved.

All their health problems seem to vanish into thin air in the company of their loved ones! The doting children and the rejuvenating hugs of their innocent grand children act like an elixir of life.

The Joint family system is beneficial to all the three generations viz the seniors, the youngsters and the kids. There is a complaint that there will be a lot of confusion in the joint family system. But we find problems creeping up even in nuclear and atomic families.

People in Joint Family develop tolerance and learn the art of ‘caring and sharing’. Even animals and birds live in groups and flocks. Ants and bees live a highly developed community life in large colonies in perfect peace and harmony!

When will man learn to do this?

9#6c. சகபத்தினிகள்

"அடைவீர் மூவரும் சகபத்தினிகளின் கலகத்தால்
அடைய வேண்டி பயன்களைத் தவறாமல் இன்று!

சரஸ்வதி சென்றடைவாள் சத்யலோகத்தை!
பத்தினியாகி விடுவாள் பிரம்ம தேவனுக்கு!

கங்கை சென்றடைவாள் சிவபெருமானிடம்;
பத்தினியாகி விடுவாள் சிவபெருமானுக்கு!

இருப்பாள் என்னுடன் லக்ஷ்மி தேவி மட்டும்,
இருப்பாள் சாந்தமும், பக்தியும் நிறைந்தவளாக.

சுகம் உண்டாகாது மூன்று மனைவியர் இருந்தால்;
சுகம் உண்டாகாது மூன்று உறவினர்கள் இருந்தால்;

சுகம் உண்டாகாது மூன்று பணியாட்கள் இருந்தால்;
சுகம் உண்டாகாது மனைவியர் ஒன்றாக வசித்தால்!

துடுக்கான துஷ்டையான பெண்ணை மணந்தவன்
துறந்து விட்டுச் சென்று விட வேண்டும் கானகம்.

இல்லற வாழ்வினும் துறவறமே சிறந்தது
இல்லாள் இனியவளாக இல்லாவிட்டால்!

துஷ்டையிலும் இனியவை துஷ்ட மிருகங்கள்.
துஷ்டப் பெண்கள் காட்டும் முகபாவம் வாட்டும்!

மனைவியால் ஆளப் படும் கணவனுக்கு
மனநிம்மதி என்பத இல்லாது போய்விடும்.

நற்கருமங்கள் நற்பயனைத் தாரா - மேலும்
நற்கதி கிட்டாது அவனுக்கு இக, பர வாழ்வில்.

ஒரே பத்தினியுடன் வாழ்வது இன்பம்;
பல பத்தினிகளுடன் வாழ்வது துன்பம்.

சொற்படி நடக்கும் மனைவியே சுவர்க்கம்.
தற்பெருமை காட்டும் மனைவியோ நரகம்."

9#6c. The three Co-wives.

"Saraswati! You will also go and incarnate as a river in BhArata Varsha under the curse of GangA. Then go in full Amsas to Brahma and become His wife. Let GangA also go in Her fullness go to Siva.

Let Lakshmi alone remain with Me. Lakshmi is of a peaceful in temperament, free from anger, devoted to Me and SAtvic in nature. She is chaste, good-natured and pious to me.

All those women who are born of the amsam of Lakshmi are all very pious and devoted to their husbands. They are peaceful, good-natured and worshiped in every universe.

It is forbidden to keep three wives, three servants, three friends of different natures, at one place. They never concur in anything. They form the sources of all jealousies and
quarrels.

If in any family females are powerful like men and males are submissive to females, the birth of the male is useless. At his every step, he meets with difficulties and bitter experiences.

He ought to renounce her and retire to the forest when his wife is foul-mouthed and fond of quarrels. The dangerous forest is better for him than his house. That man does not get in his house any water for washing his feet, or any seat to sit on, or any fruit to eat, nothing whatsoever; but in the forest, all these are available.

The harsh words of a bad wife are hard to bear. Death is far better than that. Those men who are under the control of their wives, know that they never get their peace of mind until they are laid on their funeral pyres. They never see the fruits of what they do everyday. They have no fame anywhere, neither in this world nor in the next.

When a man does not become happy with one wife, he will never be happy with many wives. O Ganga! You go to S'iva. O Saraswati! You go to BrahmA. Let the sAtvic, good-natured Lakshmi alone remain with Me.

He gets happiness in this world and Mukti in the next, whose wife is chaste and obedient. He whose wife is of a foul-nature is unhappy and dead while he is living.

#9b. பிணி நீங்கியது-2

பெருகியது ஆனந்தக் கண்ணீர் மாலை!
உருகியது நெஞ்சம் முனிவர் ஆசியால்!

உரைத்தான் தன் கதையை வீமராஜன்,
“உரைப்பீர் இதன் காரண காரியம்!”என;

“விநாயகரைத் தொழுதனர் முன்னோர்கள்;
விரும்பிய மனைவியின் காதல் மிகுதியால்

மறந்து விட்டாய் தெய்வ ஆராதனனையை.
துறந்துவிட்டாய் விக்னேஸ்வர பூசையினை.

முன்னோர்கள் பெற்ற நன்மைகள் போலவே
உன்னாலும் முயன்று பெற முடியும் மன்னா!”

முனிவர் கூறலுற்றார் மன்னன் வீமனின்
முன்னோர்களின் கதையினை விவரமாக.

வல்லவ ராஜன் கர்நாடக தேசத்தை
நல்ல முறையில் ஆண்டுவந்தான்.

பிறந்த மகனால் குலைந்தது அமைதி
குருடு, செவிடு, ஊமையாக இருந்தான்!

உடல் முழுவதும் இருந்தன ரணங்கள்;
இடர் தந்தன வழிந்த சீழும் ரத்தமும்.

கவலை பெருகியது குழந்தையால் – அரசி
கமலை தளர்ந்தாள் மனம் துவண்டதால்.

தக்கன் என்று பெயரினை இட்டனர்
தக்க வைத்தியமும் செய்து வந்தனர்.

ஆண்டுகள் பன்னிரண்டு சென்றாலும்
ஆறவில்லை ரணங்கள் சிறிதளவேனும்

வல்லவராஜன் இழந்தான் பொறுமையை;
சொல்வான்,”கானகம் சென்று விடுங்கள்”

அஞ்சினாள்; கெஞ்சினாள்; அரசி கமலை
கொஞ்சமும் மாறவில்லை அரசனின் உறுதி.

மகனுடன் வெளியேறினாள் கமலை – இனி
பகவானே துணை அவ்விருவருக்கும் என.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

9b. The miraculous cure – 2

The King and the queen were shedding tears of joy moved by the sage’s blessings. Beema RAjan told his life story and requested the rushi to find out the cause of his misery.

The sage ViswAmitra replied,”All your ancestors were true devotees of VinAyaka. You loved your queen so much that you neglected the puja and ArAdhanA of VinAyaka.

That is the real cause of your misery. There is still hope. You can his blessing by resuming the puja”

Then he related the story of the ancestors of Beema RAjan in great detail.
Vallava RAjan ruled over the city Palli in KarnAtaka. He was very happy until he got a son who was deaf, dumb and blind. He had bleeding wounds all over his body which could not be cured at all.

The queen Kamala also became disheartened by the futile attempts to cure the incurable diseases of the prince – whom they had named as Dakshan.

Twelve years rolled by and there was not any improvement in the condition of the prince Dakshan. King Vallava rajan lost his patience and ordered his queen to go to the forest with her incurable son.

The queen was in tears of helplessness. What would she do with a twelve year old boy who was thus handicapped in the wilderness? But the king turned a deaf ear to her.

So the queen left the city and went to the forest with her blind, deaf, dumb and bleeding son praying to god for help.

3#13a. துருவ சிந்து

துருவ சிந்து சூரிய வம்சத்தின் ஓரரசன்;
தர்ம சீலன், சத்ய சந்தன், பாக்கியவான்!

ஆண்டான் கோசல தேசத்தை இனிதாக!
கொண்டான் அயோத்தியைத் தலைநகராக!

நிகழவில்லை தீச்செயல்கள் நாட்டில்.
திகழ்ந்தனர் மக்கள் நற்பண்புகளுடன்.

இருந்தனர் இரு மனைவியர் அவனுக்கு
இருவரும் சிறந்தவர் அழகில்,அறிவில்.

பட்டது ராணி ஆவாள் மனோரமை – அவன்
இஷ்டநாயகி ஆவாள் இளையவள் லீலாவதி.

பெற்றாள் லீலாவதி அழகிய ஆண் மகவை!
பெற்றாள் மனோரமையும் முப்பதாம் நாள்!

ராஜ லக்ஷணம் நிறைந்த குமாரர்கள்
ராஜ்ஜியத்தின் கண்மணிகள் ஆயினர்.

சுதர்சனன் பட்டத்து ராணியின் மகன்;
சத்ருஜித் இஷ்டத்து ராணியின் மகன்.

இளைய மனைவியின் மகன் சற்று மூத்தவன்;
இளையவனாக இருந்தான் மூத்தவள் மகன்!

சாதுர்யம் உடையவன் சத்ருஜித் – அதனால்
சகலரும் நேசித்தனர் அவனை அதிகமாக.

வேட்டைக்குச் சென்றான் வேந்தன் காட்டுக்கு;
வெறியுடன் பாய்ந்தது சீற்றம் கொண்ட சிங்கம்.

வீரமாகப் போரிட்ட துருவ சிந்து – பின்னர்
வீழ்ந்து விட்டான் சிங்கத்தின் சீற்றத்துக்கு.

எழுந்தது புதிய பிரச்சனை அந் நாட்டில்;
“எவருக்குப் பட்டம் கட்டுவது அரசனாக?”

3#11a. Dhruva Sindhu

Dhruva Sindhu was a king of Soorya vamsam. He ruled over Kosala Desam with Ayodhya as his capital city. He was a man of justice, truthful and fortunate.

His country was free from crimes. His citizens were very well behaved. He had two queens – both very beautiful and intelligent. His queen on the throne was Manorama and his favorite queen was the younger Leelaavati.

Leelaavati gave birth to a beautiful son first. Manorama delivered a son a month later. Sudharsanan, the son of the elder queen Manorama was younger by one month.

Satrujit the son of the younger queen was older by one month. Both these princes had all the princely qualities and were loved by the whole country .
Satrujit was smarter and people adored him more than Sudharsanan.

King Dhruva Sindhu went for hunting one fine day. He had to fight with a lion which pounced on him with a terrible anger. In the fight with that ferocious animal, the king got killed.

Now a new problem arose in the country. “Who was to become the next king? The younger son of the older queen or the older son of the younger queen?"

9#7a. மனைவியரின் கண்ணீர்!

கட்டிக்கொண்டு அழுதனர் மூன்று தேவியர்களும்,
எட்டி நின்ற கணவனிடம் விண்ணப்பம் செய்தனர்.

"சாபம் தந்தீர்கள் எனக்கு!" என்றாள் சரஸ்வதி
"சாப விமோசனம் தரவில்லையே இன்னமும்!

உடலை விட்டு விடுகின்றேன் யோகத்தால்;
முடிய வேண்டும் கைவிடப்பட்டவள் வாழ்வு!"என

துறந்து விடுகின்றேன் நானும் என் உடலை!
நரக தண்டனை மனைவியை ஹிம்சித்தால்!"

தாங்கவில்லை துக்கம்; ஏங்கினாள் கங்கை;
தாக்கினாள் கணவனக் கடின மொழிகளால்!

கேட்டாள் லக்ஷ்மியும் தன் பங்குக்கு நியாயம்,
"கெட்ட கோபம் உமக்கு வந்தது ஏன் எனக் கூறும்!

எத்தனை காலம் நீடிக்கும் என்னுடைய சாபம்?
எப்படித் தொலைப்பேன் பாவிகளின் பாவத்தை?

எப்போது அடைவேன் துளசியின் வடிவை?
எப்போது வந்து சேருவேன் உம்மிடம் நான்?

மாற்றிவிடுங்கள் ஆணைகளை - இவர்கள்
மறுபடித் திரும்பட்டும் உம் மனைவியராக!"

கும்பிட்டாள் பாதங்களைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டு;
கூந்தலால் காலைச் சுற்றிக் கொண்டு அழுதாள்.

9#7a. The three Devis in tears!

Lakshmi, GangA and Saraswati wept bitter tears and embraced one another. All of them then looked at their husband and give vent to their feelings one after another - with tears streaming down their eyes, and with their hearts filled with sorrow.

Saraswati said , “O Lord! How long can helpless a woman live, separated from her husband? I will give up my body when I go to BhArata Varsha by my yogic power."

GangA asked, “O Lord of the Universe! Why have you forsaken me? What is the sin I have committed? I too will give up my body. You will incur the sin of killing an innocent woman. He is surely to go to hell - who forsakes his innocent wife.”

Lakshmi asked, “O Lord! What made you so angry? Be pleased with Saraswati and GangA and forgive them. Forgiveness is the best quality of a good husband.

I am ready to go to BhArata Varsha. How long I will have to stay there? When will I be able to see you again? The sinners will wash away their sins in my water! How am I to purify myself and get back to you?

How long will I have to remain as the daughter of Dharma Dhwaja? How long will I have to assume the form of Tulasee tree?

Pleased cancel your order for Saraswati and GangA to go to BrahmA and S'iva respectively. Let them come back here as your wives after the curse is exhausted!"

Lakshmi bowed down at her husband's feet, encircled them with her own hairs and cried piteously.

#9c. பிணி நீங்கியது-3

கானகத்தில் வந்து சூழ்ந்தனர் கள்வர்;
ஆனால் கொல்லவில்லை இருவரையும்.

எட்டியே சென்றுவிட்டது அரச வாழ்வு!
கட்டிய துணியுடன் திரிந்தனர் காட்டில்.

உடல் மெலிந்தனர் உண்ண உணவின்றி;
அடைந்தனர் பின் குண்டினபுர நகரத்தை.

ஊருக்கு வெளிய உள்ள கோவிலில் தன்
ஊமை மகனை விட்டுச் செல்வாள் கமலை.

பிச்சை எடுத்துக் கிடைத்த உணவை உண்டு
அச்சிறுவனுடன் உயிர் வாழ்ந்தாள் கமலை.

முத்கல முனிவர் அருகே வசித்து வந்தார்.
வித்தக விநாயகனின் அருளைப் பெற்றவர்.

தக்கனும் கமலையும் தெருவில் சென்றிட
முத்கல முனிவர் எதிர்ப்பட்டார் ஒருநாள்.

முனிவரைத் தொட்ட காற்று வீசியது;
கனிவுடன் பட்டது தக்கன் உடல் மேல்!

வியத்தகு மாற்றங்கள் விளைந்தன அங்கே
வியனுலகு எங்குமே கண்டிராத வண்ணம்!

பார்வை கிடைத்துவிட, தக்கன் பார்த்தான்;
செவிப்புலன் கிடைக்க, அவன் கேட்டான்

பேசும் திறன் வரவே, அவன் பேசினான்.
வீசியது மேனி எழில்; ரணம் மறைந்தது!

மன்மதனைப் பழிக்கும் அழகன் ஆனான்!
அன்னையின் மகிழ்ச்சிக்கு அளவில்லை.

“குணப்படுத்துவதற்கென்றே எம் இறைவா!
பிணங்கச் செய்தாயா எம்மிடம் அரசனை?”

வாரி அணைத்து உச்சி முகர்ந்து தக்கனை
வாயார “அம்மா!” என்றழைக்கச் சொன்னாள்.

9c. The miraculous cure – 3

A group of thieves surrounded them in the jungle but they took pity and did not kill the blind boy and his mother. Kamala could not console herself to her present situation. She was living in a palace as the queen and now she is roaming the forest with not even a change of dress.

They became lean due to lack of good food. They reached a city called KuNdinapuram. There was a temple in the outskirts of the city. Kamala would leave the blind boy in the temple and go and beg for food. They shared the food and kept their body and soul together.

Mudgala rushi was living nearby. He had the pari poorNa krupa katAksham of VignEswar. One day Kamala took her son also along with her. Mudgala rushi was walking down the street.

When they crossed on the road a miracle happened. The breeze which touched the sage touched Dakshan and the events that followed can only be imagined by us.

The blind boy got his vision. He could see very well now. He got his power of speech and he could speak very well now. He got the power of hearing and he could hear very well. All his bleeding wounds disappeared and he became as god looking as Manmathan himself.

Kamala could not contain her happiness. She cried,”Oh God! did you make us come here to get cured? Did you make the king order us out of the palace only to see this happy day?”

She told her son to call her as mother several times which sent her into raptures.

3#13b. “யாருக்கு அரசு?”

யுதாஜித் சத்ருஜித்துக்குப் பாட்டன் முறை;
லீலாவதியின் தந்தை; உஜ்ஜயினி மன்னன்.

வீரசேனன் சுதர்சனனுக்குப் பாட்டன் முறை;
மனோரமையின் தந்தை; கலிங்கத்து மன்னன்.

வந்து சேர்ந்தனர் படையுடன் அயோத்திக்கு;
விரும்பினர் தத்தம் பேரனை மன்னன் ஆக்கிட.

“மூத்தவன் இருக்க இளையவனுக்கு அரசா?’
வாதித்தான் யுதாஜித், பேரன் சத்ருஜித்துக்காக.

:”பட்டத்து ராணி மகனே பட்டத்துக்குரியவன்!”
வெட்டினான் வாதத்தை மன்னன் வீரசேனன்.

“ஏதும் அறியாத சிறுவன் அரசாள்வதா?"
ஏளனம் செய்தான் சுதர்சனனை யுதாஜித்!

“மூளுமோ கலகம்?” என்றஞ்சினர் அமைச்சர்கள்!
“மூளுமோ போர்?” என்றஞ்சினர் படை வீரர்கள்!

“கொள்ளையடிக்க விரும்புகிறீர்களோ – ஒரு
வெள்ளை மனச் சிறுவனை அரசனாக்கிவிட்டு?"

"சிறியவனுக்குப் பட்டம் கட்டுபவரைச்
சின்னாபின்னம் ஆக்கி விடுவேன் நான்!”

சூளுரைத்தான் உஜ்ஜயினி மன்னன் யுதாஜித்!
சூளுரைத்தான் கலிங்க மன்னன் வீரசேனன்!

வாய் வார்த்தைகள் தடித்தன, வெடித்தன!
வாட் சண்டை மூளும் அபாயம் வந்தது !

கலகப் பிரியர்களும், பகைவர்களும்,
கள்ளர்களும், வேடர்களும் நுழைந்தனர்

கொள்ளையடித்துச் சூறையாட அயோத்தியை.
கொள்ளையரை வென்றனர் இரு பாட்டன்களும்

வேற்றுமைகளை மறந்து விட்டு ஒன்று சேர்ந்து
ஒற்றுமையாகப் பகைவருடன் சண்டையிட்டு.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
