You can call a few in chennai on your own.

we have sri VB with a lot of drive who has offered to host the next meet of TB in chennai..

RRji is not far behind in bonding with all foreign and local members.she I understand keeps an open house for all .

Local Tbs are good academics, doctors, finance guys who can easily set up a trust and a bank account

also make them trustees to manage it

in no time you will get 80c IT exemption to declare it as charity.

it requires only a few to get it moving.

it is worth a try.

Dear Krish Sir,

You are incorrigibly optimistic! I have not received any phone calls from members who met in my sweet home and later

at Sri AM Sir's residence but for a couple of calls from one member to discuss about some threads! That is the real position.

in 2010 school mates of mine belonging to my batch wanted to organise a meet to honour our teachers who were still alive . these classmates were distributed all over india

and many in US and australia.

This was made possible.

organising a charity with some members is a minor thing IMHO.

it requires only some enthusiasm and mindset.

RRji you can easily do it with your good will .

Count me out...out here when giving donations to any unregistered organization one has to fill up a form stating to whom and why the donation is done to make sure that the donations are not used to fund undesired elements.

So what am I to write on the form? So count me out.

I saw a cartoon in 'Mail today' on observation of Melinda gates

she had said'There is fun in philanthropy'

the cartoon shows , melinda flipping a coin saying' all right Bill heads I give , Tails you give'

why so much thinking on just give?

Most of are are totally risk averse. we try to look at a negative side of everything

When we think of floating a charity , we worry about its misuse and whether it will go to the intended receipient . whether rules permit it?

whether middle men will swindle. there is a total trust deficit.

we all the time think everyone is there to take us for a ride and it is a con game.

we frame rules , regulations ,laws all the time that it becomes near impossible to even give freely to anyone without breaking any law.

the law is always there to get to anyone so that people fear doing even good things.even charity

it becomes an albatross around the neck - a heavy burden which cannot be shaken off.

when we shall rid ourself of these fears and become free to give

Dear Mr. Krish44, First of all, I thank you for correct assessment of my thinking & views written in # 11 onwards. You have seconded my proposal & I do expect other Veterans also to come up & broadly accept the proposal , to start with. I am also quite optimistic like you And many would show up soon.I want to point out all those who would be interested to go-ahead with the proposal, would also wish that our mentor/ founder should take the lead & we can function in a co=operative manner. I still wait for his joining , why not some of you , who may have met him ( I do not even know as to where he lives & CAN HE BE CONTACTED? IF SO HOW ?)
As you have mentioned, I seek your help as to whom all in Madras can be enlisted, I request Mr VB to volunteer, and also Raji ram ,V. balasubramanian Mr Chandru 1849 , Prasad 1 & others , if they provide Phone nos, I can talk to them & develop acquaintance before we can meet some where or in my place in Kodambakkam
Mr Krish please talk to your contacts in Madras & let me know so that with our joint effort, we can think of moving in the direction given out by you.

Rishikesan Ji,

I am here to organise a ‘get-together’ at any time at my place. It is a pleasure to meet the Members in person and exchange our thoughts.

All that I request you is a week’s time in advance so that I need to get myself ready to organise the Meet.

Since I have few assignments on hand, I am bit busy and I am here to co-operate and extend all possible assistance within my resources in this regard.

I would take this opportunity to invite all the Members based at Chennai and wish for the participation of Members who are located outside of Chennai also.

Let us meet and discuss. Everything is possible provided we have the necessary will, urge and burning fire in us.

I will send my contact number thro P.M. You may feel free to contact me.

Krish Ji,

The tentative Menu includes Mysore Pa with
Mysore Bonda and Strong Filter Coffee which you will love certainly.

VBji is a nice man. He does not attack ladies. If he has it must be inadvertant.

He will make up for it by organising this charity with rishikesanji.

VBji and Rishikesan sir can start with writing out the memorandum/article of association for society to be registered and approach the appropriate authorities for registration. they can

collect the relevant description from brahmin forums in chennai organising charity which is registered. they can also identify local trustees . They can go ahead and find

out how to open account in any nationalised bank in chennai . Bank will tell you what society papers are required . all this can be done even without a meeting . why

waste time . VBji and rishikesan sir are good at these things I am sure.

Anyway only mangalore bonda and coffee/tea at newwoodlands for you all. My offer stands.

RR Ji,

Shoot straight.

Why link the alleged attacking in the Forum with that of the get-together. (Nobody has made any complaint against me with the Moderator so far and none of my posting was deleted yet)

Everyone will have different point of view in each subject. We are in the Forum to share our thoughts to engage in a lively debate and that is all.

Even in families each member will have a different opinion but still go along ironing out the differences and lead a happy life.

I think senior members should set an example for good values.

Personally we are all Members of this Forum, we Meet together that should be spirit.

Rishikesanji , VBji and RRji are the founding members of the charity trust.Others can be coopted in course of time depending on need.

IMHO , small groups run well.

We can move on .

Meeting place is a minor issue .

VBji and rishikesanji can move to get the details for floating and registering the society and do the formalities for opening the account in a bank

these three can decide the initial corpus.

we can aim for atleast 10 members each from india and abroad for donations to start with

it is sensible to have only two denominations for donation rs 500 and rs 1000. for foreign 50 and 100 dollars . it is only a

suggestion . the group of founding members can decide .

The group can decide on who should be receipients -criteria .. we can concentrate on college education and can perhaps fund tuition fees.

I had gone to mahalaxmi temple in bombay . they fund college education and were receiving applications for that.when I was there. we can follow their example.

we can target the january 2015 session for funding a few. at least three to five students.

Wow Krish ji is giving great ideas..I feel Krish ji should be made the secretary of the Organization/Trust/Society etc.

Let the men be active..women can just be in charge of making Bonda and Coffee..I am sure RR ji will agree with me..becos women need rest too...let men handle the major work of planning.

RR Ji,

1. Shoot straight.

1. I am not a fight monger! :nono:

2. No one is my mAman or machAn here, OK. We have met through forum and supposed to be friendly in forum too !
3. Agreed for 'a'. But I don't consider the derogatory posts like valuing a thread as 'zero' as LIVELY DEBATE!! :brick:

4. Happy friendship after fighting in forum!! High hopes! :D

5. I guess the one who evaluates a thread is also a senior if not super senior.

6. Sorry! I don't have that 'spirit' nor drink 'spirit!

P.S: Anyway, thanks for proving again that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! Watch the font and color in your post!! :spy:
