Cooler Chennai this summer

I am wondering why is everyone forgetting the law of cause and effect? By making Chennai cooler by so called spiritual energy..what effect does it have otherwise?

Like when we meddle with nature in the human body and try to reverse aging with some hormones...some people get cancer as a side effect.So by making Chennai cooler and meddling with nature..will this cause a Tsunami?

Who knows??So its better not to mess with what we do not know and mislead our mind to a direction that might spell disaster.

NOTE: Just a word of caution to those who believe that mind power can actually change the course of nature.I know a person who tried some stunts with meditation and mind power and landed in ICU with severe convulsions(he was never known to have epilepsy before)..so never try any stunts..just accept the laws of nature and do not try to play God when its not even warranted.

I agree with you. When many pray together the effect is manifold. I think it can be done daily. What timings do you suggest?

'KUMUDAM' tamil magazine used to arrange for 'mass prayers' by all the readers
when some one is seriously ill.
Varuna Japam is done seeking rains.
So,the proposal seems to be sincere with a good intention.
All the Forum members can join shri.sravana (from their places) in the Prayers.
As LORD Krishna has said in Gita to take action without waiting for the result,and the result will be decided by HIM,let sincere prayers start.

I just hope some can wake up and realize that nothing is really much in our hands but we can go about using logic to make the world a cooler place:

1)Plant more trees

2)Service cars regularly to cut down emissions from car engines.

3)Recycle

4)Cut down usage of plastics

and many more.

If just sitting and hoping for Divine to "intervene" without making the world a more green place is actually misleading our mind.

Dear Folks,

We will fix the time as 8 AM to 8:30 AM. I request all those who can set aside that time to join in the prayer. In my view the only requirements for making it happen are the existence of genuine reasons for the change and the sincerity to make it happen.

I am confident that the effort will be successful.

Good question. In my opinion, those wishes that do not disturb the harmony of nature and even better those that promote harmony of nature will be granted. It is just not Chennai but all over the world the climate has gone worse. These are to a large extent man made and have been disturbing the balance existing. For that balance to be restored, I think the natural forces will come to help. Everyone is part of nature and so I would say it is natural for us to think that efforts should be taken to set things right.

Mind with capabilities?? What is Mind? Mind is a bundle of thoughts and nothing more.

Trying to exert "Mind Power" sometimes leads to Delusion of Grandeur.

Yes I believe a mind can possess that power in a self realized man. But I am not one. And prayer is exactly for that purpose of being able to accomplish something through divine help which you cannot accomplish.

Even Swami Vivekananda broke down and cried that Indians lived in poverty when he saw that westerners lived lavishly.He did not sit and try to organize mass prayers to make everyone rich.

BTW did any self realized person try to stop earth quakes..Tsunamis etc?

You should understand that we are not changing the course of nature but only putting it on the right course. Prayer is one means which we now plan to use. Since we are part of nature it is like nature itself is self correcting.

For others they view it just as form of a Good will Prayer but for you Sravna..your mind goes beyond that.You are going to feel differently after the prayer.

You are venturing into zones that harbour thoughts that there is a spiritually elevated mind, power of prayer and thoughts and projecting spiritual energy etc.

I cant be more explicit than these..but my sincere advise to you is please DO NOT organize such prayers where one sits and try to synchronize thoughts of everyone at at the same time.

We do not know what is the harmony of nature, to be able to disturb it. For all we know the excessive heat itself could be a balancing act of nature !!! In which case we would be disturbing the harmony...

Good points. Humans are in a unique position to actively direct the course of nature. This can be for good or for bad. What can be considered harmony is something we would have, that is not the result of short sighted actions. Many of the effects on the environment is because of humans not properly understanding the effects of their actions on it. So we may reasonably conclude that their actions have disturbed nature.

So what is right or not is dependent on whether harmony is being disturbed or restored.

Really???How?? When we have no idea of what lies tomorrow in terms of life and death how can we actively direct the course of nature?

Sravna..Auh has raised very good points which you did not answer.

BTW during any Tsunami etc..the animal death toll is very less..see animals did not do any prayers and get together.They rely on their logical instinct which we humans sadly lost.
